Chapter 72:

Lord velcar, the catastrophe

Hacker Class

Light McKing.

The name left a bitter taste in Alden's mouth, and he was flooded by memories. Alden threw a glance at Lily. Her head was lowered, so Alden could not see what expression she had.

"I almost forgot. I have to kill this bastard..." He thought, as he watched the S-class ranger. However, he could not do that now. As much as he hated to admit, they needed Light.

Currently, Light Mcking faced Lord Velcar. Lord Velcar had his hands raised, blocking the Light's punch.

"Hmph!" Light flew backward, his eyes on his opponent.

"If you 4 fight together..." Prince trailed off, shooting a glance at Lily.

Lily lifted her head, a blank expression on her face.

"Alden. Go fight." With that, she turned away. However, Alden did not miss the flash of emotions in her eyes.

"Lily... " He watched her walk off, before he grit his teeth. Then, he took a deep breath, and called. "Lily!"

She stopped in her tracks.

"I didn't forget my promise... and I swear I will fulfil it.

With that Alden turned and walked away.

[SELF HEAL (lv 5) ACTIVATED]

He knelt low, before flying into the air. Dust raised, and a sonic boom emanated from the force of his take-off. Soon, he joined the other 3 around Lord Velcar.

"Light Mcking." He said. Light glanced at him with a plain expression.

"Alden Hall."

There wasn't a time for a chat, though. There was a calamity right before them.

"Hm. I must say, I am impressed by the sheer resistance you beings have put up. I did not expect this much resistance from a backward planet." Lord Velcar's cold voice was like ice, his sharp gaze cutting through the 4 surrounding him. A light smile came on his face. "However, It ends now."

A dark purple aura began to form around him. Several balls of energy formed around him, all of them spinning.

"Avoid those attacks at all costs!" Alden shouted, energy already forming around him. He knew that regular attacks would not work, so he had to improvise. Also, it seemed fighting from a distance was better.

Immediately, a spear formed in Alden's hand, and flames slowly crept around it. Alden drew back his hand, ready to throw. Sarah seemed to have chosen to stay far also, and several balls of gravity energy formed around her.

Light Mcking and Aerith raced forward.

The balls released, and the two who were charging forward dodged the attacks, closing in.

"I have to search for an opening!" Alden thought. So he held his attack, while dodging the dangerous ball s of energy. Sarah let off her attacks, attacking from a blind spot.

Lord Velcar dodged the energy balls, and spun around. He sent an energy ball at Sarah, and used the momentum to launch a kick at Aerith. It connected, and Aerith flew away. Light McKing reached him next, and began to launch attacks.

Lord Velcar dodged several blows, before he launched a counter. His hand flew at Light, aimed at his head. Light Mcking lifted a hand to block and was sent flying. Then Alden saw it.

"An opening!" Immediately, he threw the spear with all the force he could muster, while increasing it's speed using gravity. It flew at Lord Velcar at an inconceivable speed, tearing threw the air.

However, Lord Velcar disappeared.

Alden didn't wait to see where Lord Velcar had teleported to. He glitched to the ground below, before raising his head and searching for the opponent.

"There!" Lord Velcar had appeared where he had once been. Alden raised his hands, and a cascade of blue flames poured out, filling the air. The fire filled the sky, it's quantity seemingly endless as it dashed at Lord Velcar.

Soon the air was filled with flames, hiding the view. Alden waited for it to clear, while still being cautious. When it cleared, Lord Velcar was still there. A giant sphere raised around him.

"Not even this? Damnit!" Alden growled.

The sphere disappeared.

"Nice. But far from enough..." Lord Velcar said. However, in the next second, torrents of green energy flooded him, sending him flying. Blue balls of gravity energy followed it. Lord Velcar crashed into the remains of a building, destroying it further. The balls of blue energy balls followed, crashing into him. Alden immediately formed several spears of energy, before launching them where he had landed.

The smoke soon cleared, revealing Lord Velcar.

The once invincible Lord, was bleeding.

A spear had pierced him, and several cuts and bruises covered him. Alden chuckled.

"Finally! Serves you right, you arrogant fool!"

Lord Velcar no longer wore a calm and nonchalant expression. No, he wore an expression of rage.

"How dare you mortals... How dare you injure a being like me?"

Suddenly, loud burst of laughter filled the air, it was from Light Mcking.

"Don't get ahead of yourself!" His face grew serious. "You're nothing more then a small hurdle in this mortals path!"

"Silence!" His voice released waves of energy. "You will all pay for your insolence!"

"Shut up!" Alden flew forward, towards him. The other 3 followed him. Soon they all surrounded him, with Light Mcking reaching first.

Lord Velcar raised his arm, and a portal opened. Light flew through it, and crashed into a building behind him. Then Sarah closed in on him, he raised his hand, and she froze. She struggled to move, despite gathering all her power. He waved to the right, and she flew away, crashing into a pile of rubble.

Alden and Aerith then reached him. However, he suddenly dashed forward. Suddenly, they found that he held them both by their throats.

"No matter how you all fight... or struggle... the faith of this world is sealed."

He squeezed tighter, and the two of them struggled in his grasp.

"My master will conquer this planet... and no one will dare stop him. This invasion is just the beginning. More forces will invade this world... and soon.." He smiled cruelly. "You will all fall."

Suddenly, a portal opened below them. Lord Velcar threw the two of them, sending them flying through it. Alden felt the world blur, and disappear, as he was teleported away, to some unknown place.
