Chapter 2:
One Summer Day at That Resort
The first day of the trip.
They had already been swaying with the boat for several dozen minutes.
Beside Yuka, who was full of excitement, Misaki gradually grew quieter.
And then—
“I’m going to get some air.”
She rose unsteadily and headed for the deck.
“I’m coming too.”
Yuka hurried after her.
“Whoa! Amazing! Blue sea! Blue sky! Pale face! …Wait, Misaki-san, what’s wrong?”
“…I got seasick…”
“Even you get seasick, Misaki-san?”
she muttered, looking taken aback.
“…Depending on how it sways, boats can make you sick…”
She leaned over the deck’s railing.
“Do you want some water?”
she asked, her voice full of concern.
“…I’ll take some…”
When Yuka handed her a plastic bottle with the cap already off, she took a sip.
“…Thanks…”
After saying that and handing it back, she lowered her face again.
“…I hope we get there soon. Once we arrive, I’m sure it’ll be fun.”
Looking up at the sky, Yuka smiled softly.
After swaying on the shuttle bus, they arrived at the hotel.
“I’ll go check us in, so Misaki-san, rest here for a bit.”
After seating Misaki on a chair in the lobby, Yuka headed for the front desk with light steps.
Misaki, completely drained, watched her go.
