2-The Sticky Floor and the Frozen Idiots

The wind howled outside.

 Inside the shop, the temperature was exactly 5 degrees.

Rinka, Chi-chan, and Poko were huddled together under the Kotatsu . They looked like a pile of laundry.

Chi-chan: "I can’t feel my toes. My tail is frozen stiff.... well Look! I can use Hebi-o as a hammer!"

BONK.

She hit the table with her frozen snake tail.

Hebi-o (Snake): (Muffled) "Stop it... my brain is cold..."

Rinka: "Stop complaining. The heater broke this morning."

Poko: ( shivering, teeth chattering) "R-Rinka! Why don't we b-buy a new one? My dad owns a casino! I can pay!"

Poko, the Tanuki girl reached into her pockets. She pulled out a handful of Gold Coins.

Rinka: "Put those away, Poko. Those are just dead leaves with illusion magic they turn back into dirt in one hour. Remember what happened at the bank?"

Poko: "Ehh? But they look so shiny!"

Chi-chan: "Useless Tanuki! Wait... I have an idea!"

Chi-chan’s eyes lit up. She stood up on top of the table.

Chi-chan: "Poko! Use your transformation magic! Turn the living room floor into a Hot Spring! A nice, steamy Onsen!"

Poko: "Oh! Genius chi-chan! Leave it to me!"

Poko jumped up. Her large chest bounced, and her fluffy tail wagged excitedly. She grabbed a green leaf and slapped it onto her forehead.

Poko: "Tanuki Secret Art... GRAND ONSEN TRANSFORMATION! POOF!"

BOOM!

A cloud of steam filled the room, The floorboards disappeared and Suddenly whole room was filled with warm, bubbling liquid.

Chi-chan: "Yes! i am feel Warmth! Cannonball diveeee!"

Chi-chan jumped head-first into the liquid.

SPLAT.

There was no splash. Just a gross, sticky sound.

Chi-chan didn't sink but got stuck on the surface.

Chi-chan: "Huh? It’s... sticky?"

Rinka: (Pokes the liquid with a stick) "Poko. This isn't water. This is... maple syrup?"

Poko: "Ah! Oops! I was thinking about pancakes while I cast the spell. My bad!"

Chi-chan: "It’s hardening! I can’t move! Help! I’m becoming a candy apple!"

Suddenly, the front door opened.

Baku-chan: "I’m home..."

Baku-chan walked in. She looked terrible. Her pajama onesie was dirty, and she had massive bags under her eyes. She was hugging her pillow, Mr. Fluff.

Baku-chan: "Work was hard... I just want to sle— WHOA!"

Baku-chan stepped onto the "syrup." Her feet slipped instantly.

ZOOM.

She slid across the room like a hockey puck.

Baku-chan: "Eh?"

CRASH!

She slammed right into Poko’s butt and poko lost her balance and fell onto Chi-chan.

Now, all three monsters were tangled in a pile of warm sticky maple syrup.

Poko: "Ow! Baku-chan, watch out!"

Baku-chan: (Sleepy) "Is this... a new bed? It smells delicious..."

Chi-chan: "Get off me, you sleep-freak! Rinka! Do something! Cancel the magic!"

Rinka stood on top of the Kotatsu table, the only safe dry spot. She looked down at the chaotic mess of sticky girls.

Rinka: "Disgusting."

Poko: "Don't look at us like we are garbage! Help us!"

Rinka: "Fine. Since you wanted to be cold, and then hot... let's just make it frozen."

Rinka pulled a blue paper talisman from her sleeve.

Rinka: "Cryo-Freeze."

FLASH.

The temperature in the syrup dropped instantly to -20 degrees. The maple syrup froze solid in one second.

Chi-chan, Poko, Baku-chan: "EEEEEEEEEEH?!"

[10 Minutes Later]

The living room was now an ice skating rink.

Three frozen statues stood in the middle of the room. Chi-chan was frozen mid-scream. Poko was frozen in a weird yoga pose. Baku-chan was frozen while sleeping.

Rinka sat back under the Kotatsu, sipping warm tea.

Rinka: "Finally. Peace and quiet."

Chi-chan: (Muffled voice from inside the ice) "I... will... kill... you..."
