Final - Bridge

I went to the forest to use my magic to see what it is capable of. I thought maybe it would be safer if I tested outside of the forest, since I was unsure of what it can do. I went out the forest as planned and was interested on the amount of knives I got, for some odd reason. I tried throwing one of the knives towards a tree, but, it didn’t hit the tree.

It stopped before it hit the tree. Then I hear a voice, “Interesting, so you were the one that has been picking up the knives,” The voice sounded way too familiar but I can’t recall whos voice it was from. It wasn’t the mayor nor anyone I have met in this town.

I then heard the sound of several things flying towards me. I immediately stopped time since it sounded like it was incridebly close. When I stopped time to try to hit him, I realised that instantly time resumed. “Can he be a person with the ability to nullify abilites?” I thought to myself. I then got hit by 3 knives that he threw. I tried to hit him head on with my shadow magic, but the shadow magic stopped half way before hitting him. My movements also were halved. Can it be that his ability is to make someone do things with half of their thought, because if so, it would be a very interesting ability.

I tried moving 20 meters back, and it wasn’t halved. As soon as I did move back, he, out of no where, suddenly threw an arsenal of knives. If I was to count in the heat of that moment, it was about 30 knives. I knew stopping time would not work but I decided to try anyways. I stop time to try to block the knives, time did stop, and it was normal, for some reason. I then just pushed and shoved the knives out of the way. Maybe he has a cooldown for using his skills, thinking that way, I tried to go head on once more, but my moves were halved again.

I didn’t know what to do so again I jumped back 20 meters, and like earlier, my moves didn’t half then. Maybe its when I move backwards, it doesn’t half my movements, it wasn’t likely so I scratched that idea. I then remember that I had Level 5 magic, so I took it out. As soon as I did, the magic got hit. I felt as if my soul was leaving my body again. I wasn’t sure what happened, but, I died again?

I then came back to my senses, but I felt different. The positions of where he and I stood were different. Nothing made sense anymore. I wasn’t standing near the tree, but the tree had the knife stuck in that I wanted to hit it with. So what happened. All I remembered was that I died but I am still here, I took out my Level 5 magic and nothing happened this time. I asked for Arthur for what happened when I took out my Level 5 magic just now. Arthur answered with “What do you mean ‘just now’, you just only took out your magic to begin with,” I didn’t understand what Arthur said, “Didn’t I tried to hit him earlier but all my movements were halved,” I said to Arthur. “Stop joking, there is an enemy there, you didn’t even move until now,” Arthur replied.

My brain completly went blank at that moment, and then I thought “Wait I didn’t move until now. Then what happened when he threw knives, wait, why was does the tree have the knife that I threw but got stopped in the mid of air,” I didn’t understand this turn of events which was altered. I then decided to take out the things out of my beg immediately to search for something. While taking out one of the items, one of the knife got stuck on the zipper of the bag, and once it was freed, it flung towards the enemy. He took out his magic and blocked it, it seemed like he couldn’t half the movements of the knife.

His magic is a Level 5 magic with low strength but incredibly high speed and average defensive power. Maybe he couldn’t half the movements of projectiles. I tried throwing another knife at him and he could stop the knife in the air. So what did I do earlier that made him unable to stop the knife. I tried comparing all the things. Maybe I didn’t hold the knife, no, not likey, maybe because it was in my bag, that is just impossible. I couldn’t think of a reason why.

“You cannot directly attack me, you are dead, are you not?” the enemy said. I asked him who is he. “I am Komoni, and my magic is called ‘Crossing Bridge’, but that wouldn’t help, will it not?” Konomi replied. I was wondering what was that type of speech but I rather not ask. He doesn’t seem to give off a slight hint to what he can do. I tried to stop time to attack him, and same thing happened earlier, even though Arthur said I didn’t do anything earlier. Time stop got cancel for some reason. I tried to take out the knife out of the tree to see what was different about this knife.

I tried to take out the knife but it was stuck in the tree very well. When I managed to take out the knife from the tree. It flew towards Komoni, he didn’t seem like he could stop the knife so he took out his magic and blocked the knife. It happened again, his face had a stressful look as soon as he blocks the knife. That was the slight hint that he couldn’t block that knife. I realised, I didn’t mean to attack him, so earlier I didn’t mean to hit him. I thought of what he said earlier or well, what I think he said since Arthur said I didnt move, “You cannot hit me directly” or something along those words.

Maybe I can hit him indirectly, but it doesn’t explain what his ability is. I took out my Level 5 shadow magic. But as soon as I did that, I wasn’t sure what happened, but I got killed again through my magic? Somehow it happened again. Then I see myself standing near the tree holding the knife, I took out the knife and it flew to Konomi again. I realised that he did the same exact thing. Wait, the knife was in the tree? Is he reversing time? What is going on?

I tried to immediately attacked him trying to get his focus out of the knife. My movements didn’t get halved and he blocked the knife, but I managed the attack him, but I only get to hit him once. My other shadow magics movements got halved. It looks like I died 3 times already. “You have been switching universes, have you not?” Konomi asked. Switching universes? What does he mean. He has the ability to switch universe? That will be incredibly hard to defeat him now.

After what seemed to be me dying multiple times, I didn’t know what to do. It seemed like a stalemate for me. Seems like Konomi won. I then remembered I had the Perli flower I got a quite long ago when I started finding those knives. I remembered that they can be used also as a mini smoke gernade. I took out the flower and in also doing so, I dropped something else but I didn’t have the time to look at what I dropped. I decided to use it and try running away. I attempted to run away

I dropped something out of my bag earlier, I wasn’t sure what it was. It sounded like a metal item. I was sure that I didn’t keep the knives in my bag just like that. I had a cloth wraping the knives, so either multiple of them has to drop or just one somehow. Then I heard a gun shot as soon as ran. I tried looking over my shoulder. I then saw he got shot. I unintentionally shot him when I drop that ‘thing’ earlier. I dropped the gun and it somehow fell to the ground and shot him.

It looks like Konomi didn’t see that coming so he wasn’t ready to block it. And since it wasn’t intentional, he got hit. The bullet hit him, it looked like it hit him in the heart. He looked like he is trying to shake of the pain but it seems to be giving him a bigger pain, a more strain in the heart.

I wasn’t sure but all I could think of doing is try punching him. I then thought of something, what if I double my own movements, will it become half to normal or will it half to one fourth. I then tried to double my own movements. He seemed to have a hard time to move, but my movements just stopped half way. Then I guess his abilites has come to universes like he said.

His ability has to be to overlap universe, because no matter where I move, or double the movements, I still get stopped at the same place. So he can overlap any direct attacks or movements. I then decided to try something else. I tried taking all of the knives I had in my bag. I just started randomly throwing them around. I then heard a grunt. It looks like I hit him. Konomi then fell down.

I then heard “Ability unlocked : Bridge,” Konomi was a sure opponent that had me have troubles and killed me multiple time. I thought I was about to give up. I then remembered. I have all my memories. I remembered who I am. I tried using this ‘Bridge’ ability that I got from defeating Konomi. I then felt a pain in the heart. I then realised that there was a pain because I have a pulse now.

I now remember most things, my memory is a little foggy but I remember. My name is...... “Are you alright, are you fine, are you hurt?” Arthur then asked. I replied with I am fine but I asked Arthur, do I have a pulse for you now? “Wait you do have a pulse, how?” Arthur replied. I said I wasn’t sure myself, while thinking “What now?”
