Chapter 22:
Misfits of the Magic World
That night, Ema scowled as Akumama and a priestess met her just outside the school.
"Don't be so scowly. Momma's forgiven you," Akumama smiled as she and the priestess opened the boxes containing Ema's arms.
Slowly, both arms floated out of the box and reattached themselves to Ema.
Ema promptly began moving her fingers and stretching out her arms. "Feels like everything's fine. I'll head straight to the doc, just in case," Ema grumbled as she turned and began to head back into the school.
Once she was gone, Akumama smiled and turned towards a bush. "I'm aware my little Ema is a schemer. Come out."
Yurika and Shoko both emerged.
"SHOKO!? My, you look so good bald and in that cheer outfit. Can I take a quick pic to send to your mother?" Akumama smiled as she pulled out her phone.
"Ahahaha, sorry, but no," Shoko smiled before scowling and launching a lightning-powered kick at Akumama.
Akumama barely managed to dodge as she sunk into a void of gravity. "My, such power. That could have hit me if I was weak," her voice rang out.
Yurika and Shoko locked backs as they scoured the area for Akumama's next attack. Seeing a gravity void beginning to form below, Yurika hurled a glass shard at it, yet Akumama had no issue catching it in her teeth.
"I was gonna have this be a feint, but one flimsy glass shard? Girl, show me more of why I wanted to suppress you," Akumama scoffed as she spat out the glass.
Yurika began to smirk. "What if I wanted you to give that shard a bite?"
Akumama raised a browless brow before suddenly being overcome with coughing. "You- ACK! You... poisoned me..."
Unfortunately, the nerf didn't last long as after a retreat to her gravity dimension, Akumama was able to heal herself up. In the meantime, the priestess on standby was released upon Shoko and Yurika.
"Play around with my soldier while I recharge. Shouldn't take me more than a minute or three," Akumama's voice rang out as the priestess began emitting a massive wave of smoke from her hand.
Thanks to secretly fitting themselves with glass domes beforehand, Yurika and Shoko were no affected by the smoke. As they had expected an attack like this to occur, they both leapt out of the smoke, into the air.
"Oh? Not going to play hide and seek? Killjoy much?" Akumama chuckled as Shoko and Yurika both felt a chill run down their spines.
Both turned their heads back, yet the presence they sensed wasn't there.
"You were smart to fit yourselves with glass domes, but momma's got a little power called, wormhole, that lets her slip her hands through even the tightest of spaces. And did you know? When it's me personally, all I gotta do to assimilate a girl is clamp my hand down on their smooth-shaven scalps and activate my spell."
Time began to slow as Yurika and Shoko made eye-contact with each other. "Only one shot... NOW!" Yurika thought as she activate her magic.
Akumama's eyes widened with shock as she felt her hands press against something cold and metal. "No! That's impossible! Y- You know wormhole magic!?" she gasped as she retracted her hands as fast as she could.
"Too late. You fell for it big time!" Yurika laughed as Akumama burst forth from the smoke. "Oh please, don't try fooling ME with a mirror trick," she scoffed as she swung her arm behind her, hitting the real Akumama square in the face.
Akumama staggered as the illusion of her vanished. "Oh, that hurt. Don't think I've ever bled so much before. Buuut... I can just heal!" she giggled as she did just that.
"What if you can't?" Yurika smirked as Akumama's gaze narrowed.
Not falling for the distraction, Akumama dodged the massive incoming energy ball with ease, though her smile didn't return. "That magic... It's mine... Mine, but multiplied ten-fold! No, are you saying you can use counter magic!?"
"Mirrors reflect, n' mirrors are nothing but glass."
Akumama clicked her tongue as she attempted to escape into a portal, however, she found her path blocked by a thick wall of glass. "OUT OF MY WAY!" she shouted as she attempted to smash the glass with her sneaker, only to barely make a crack.
"Whoops, that there is plexiglass. Can't go breaking it so easily," Yurika taunted.
"You're a fool for telling me! Akumama fumed as she raised her leg up to her head, preparing to unleash a powerful kick.
"Nah, I'm telling you because it doesn't matter; we've won.
Akumama suddenly went pale as metal hands began to latch onto her body from behind. "No! My... magic! I can't use... mana! Who... Who... ...!?"
Slowly turning her head, Akumama was met with a hazmat suit clad Yabei. Zeroing in on her backpack, sweat began to encase her being as she desperately struggle to break free, but to no avail.
"Glutonaria! Why!? Why do you have that!?" Akumama cried.
"Because I'm the noblest of the nobles! Akumama Shikazen, I've learned of your crimes against the nobility. Judgement shall be passed upon you by me!" Yabei declared as Calli suddenly appeared before Akumama.
Sliding her mask up, Calli blew a gust of toxic fumes directly into Akumama's face, and with her magic sealed, Akumama was completely defenseless. Bloodcurdling screams rang out as Akumama succumbed to the full effects of the gas.
"ACK! DID EMA- ACK! DID EMA PLAN ALL THIS!?" Akumama shouted as blood pooled out of her lips.
"Nope, she just told us you were coming. Now good riddance," Yurika glared as she hurled a sharp glass shard directly into Akumama's throat.
Akumama's eyes rolled back as she vomited out one final glob of blood before going completely limp. Akumama Shikazen was dead.
The lone priestess also went limp and fell lifeless to the ground, giving Yurika no resistance as she sliced open her chest.
A smile and tears began to form on Yurika's face as she stared down at the priestess's black lungs. "Sensei... It's finally over..."
