Chapter 8:
- RIN -
With small footsteps, the doll was running.
Through the dust-laden, desolate corridor, soiling the hem of its clothes.
Without showing any sign of caring about that, it simply moved forward.
Since gaining self-awareness, this was the first time it had moved freely like this.
Days spent without caring about others’ eyes, sometimes exchanging words along the way.
It was not the quiet she had imagined—but still, an abundance of freedom was certainly there.
There were those who came now and then for tests of courage, but she mostly left them alone.
There were also times when she sent rude ones home after giving them a small punishment.
Rin thinks.
—Even a daily life like this is not so bad.
