Chapter 5:

Ichichi

Bintchoo To Kukuru

The Oni not wasting time, threw a punch at Yusuke. “Lightning Majutsu : Raijin’s Might.” Yusuke said. His body turned into lightning, and slammed into the Oni, pushing it back a few feet. The lightning surrounding Yusuke disappeared as the Oni smacked Yusuke into the ground. The Oni went to stomp on Yusuke but a ball of water hit it. It did nothing, but make the Oni turn its attention to Yuna. “You know it’s stronger when you give it a name.” Yusuke said, sarcastically, as he got onto his hands and knees. “Realy?” Yuna asked. The Oni kicked Yusuke into Yuna, knocking them both against the wall. “Have you ever heard of sarcasm?” Yusuke asked, getting onto his feet. “I didn’t know that was sarcasm.” Yuna said, barely able to move. “Are you ok?” Yusuke asked, as the Oni threw a punch at him. He quickly covered himself in lightning, and used it to move, moving Yuna as well behind the Oni. “I feel my bones ache.” Yuna said, laying on the ground. “I wonder why?” Yusuke asked sarcastically, as the Oni turned around, and threw a punch at Yusuke. “Lightning Majutsu : Raijin’s Strike!” Yusuke yelled out, as lightning and Mabui covered Yusuke’s arm, as Yusuke threw a punch. The two punches collided, the force throwing both the Oni and Yusuke’s arm back. In an instant Yusuke imbued his other arm with the mix of lightning and Mabui. He used the force from being repelled, and transferred it through his body to throw a punch. Yusuke’s attack collided with the Oni’s knee, knocking it down. Yusuke followed it up with another lightning punch, uppercutting the Oni, knocking it onto its back.

“So if it doesn’t need a name, then why name it?” Yuna asked, getting onto her knees. “It helps with memory. Making you remember what you can, and can’t do with Majutsu.” Yusuke said. The Oni tried getting up. “Yusuke, throw your lightning at my water.” Yuna said, creating a ball of water. The Oni sat up, and Yuna hit its face with water, wetting it, followed by a lightning bolt, sending lightning through its body. Yuna concentrated, and saw the Mabui shift from blue to red, and created fire. She threw the fire at the lightning, causing an explosion, blowing up the Oni’s face. “I guess the strongest magic is chemistry.” Yusuke joked.

The black sky disappeared, as the Oni body laid in front of them. Yusuke looked around. What was with the black sky?” he asked. “And why didn’t the Oni disappear? The last Yanamun disappeared.” Yuna asked. “They don’t just disappear. They are physical monsters, they don’t go away when defeated.” Yusuke said. Yusuke reached his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone, it was shattered. “Do you have a phone?” Yusuke asked. “No.” Yuna answered. “Let's go find a phone then.” Yusuke said walking away. “So we leave this then?” Yuna asked. “Yeah.” Yusuke said. “Won’t people come up here, and won't be a scandal for your Organization?” Yuna asked, catching up to Yusuke. “It doesn't matter much. Even if someone photographs it, and uploads it to social media no one will believe. Either photoshop, or Ai. Nobody will care enough to call it true. Plus that's why I need a phone, to get people to take care of it.” Yusuke said. “Oh, you could have said so.” Yuna said “You should go. If you aren’t joining the organization then go. It’s my mess to clean up.” Yusuke said. “But I-” Yuna started. “Just go.” Yusuke said, cutting off Yuna. “Thank you, for saving me. I’m sorry we have different goals, I still hope we can be friends though.” Yuna said quietly before stopping. Yusuke stopped and looked at her. “We are enemies, you know that? We fight for the eradication of religion and want to preserve it, that makes you an obstacle for my people.” Yusuke said. “Maybe so, but-. I don’t think we should be ruled by our goals. I don’t think it should choose who to call friends or not. Maybe I'm delusional, but I want everyone to get along no matter who they are.” Yuna said. “That’s delusion, but-. Just get out of here. And let me know if you need help with magic, or want any tips or something, more understanding of the true nature of the world. I’ll help.” Yusuke said, before he started to walk away.. “Thank you.” Yuna said.

Yuna walked back to the Oni, and dug her bike out from under rubble. “Yay, I don't have the money for another bike.” she said, low enough only she could hear. She picked her bike up, and set it onto its wheels, before getting on, and riding off. It was midday, and Yuna’s body still ached, but it was still a school day, so she rode off to school.

Yusuke came across a payphone. He grabbed the phone, and inserted 10 yen, before dialing a number. The phone rang and someone answered. “I need a clean up crew, Okinawa, near Kurashika dam.” he said, before hanging up the phone, and walking back to the Oni. By the time he got back a handful of people, each wearing a three piece suit. “Classy.” Yusuke said. One of the men walked to Yusuke and hugged him. “Did you get in your first fight? Good for you.” the man said. Fujiwara Riku. Bright auburn hair, held in a loose ponytail, his eyes grey, and hard to read. Rooh Hunter, Division 4, Rank 7. “It wasn’t that hard, but I still didn’t expect it to be as fast as it was.” Yusuke said. “It’s your first fight, not bad taking it, but I'm curious. It died from an explosion. You can’t do that. So where did it come from, who helped you?” Riku asked. “Nobody, old wiring in the building, my lightning connected with it and caused an explosion.” Yusuke said. Riku says nothing, he just turns away and walks to the Oni. Riku placed his hand onto the Oni, and went up in flames. “It is the job of the Mardom Rooh to keep the people safe, and to keep the humans ignorant, in order to keep us safe. No matter who our enemy, we stand united, and fight for a better tomorrow. So I’ll ask again, who helped you?” Riku asked. “No one.” Yusuke said. The fire disappeared, and the Oni was gone, turned to ash. Riku sighed.
