Chapter 19:
Bintchoo To Kukuru
Hiroko made it to her house. “Mom, I need to ask a question.” Hiroko said, walking into the kitchen. She didn’t find her mom. She walked to her mothers room, finding her on the bed, looking at an old photo. “Hiroko, come in. What did you need?” her mother asked, setting down the picture. “Is that father?” Hiroko asked, sitting next to her mother. “Yes.” her mother said, grabbing the picture, and looking at it. It was an old photo. Her father, he had dark brown hair, and blue eyes. “When I first met him, he was difficult.” her mother said. “How so?” Hiroko asked. “Well first the language barrier. He spoke Mandarin. He was kind, but difficult. He did not like my father at all. They were always at it. Especially when your father learned Japanese.” Hiroko’s mother said. Hiroko leaned against her mother, letting them both see the picture. “Tell me more.” Hiroko said. “He was from Taiwan. He was very secretive. He didn’t like talking about his life before. He came guarded, but he met a woman who made him feel a thrill for life. He had a child, and he became so happy. I still remember his first attempt at making a Doriyaki. He carried you in his arms, and ended up burning them. How do you burn Doriyaki? I haven’t got a clue.” her mother said. Hiroko chuckled.
“What exactly did you want to ask?” her mother asked. “I wanted to ask if I could go to another island, for about a week?” Hiroko asked. “Where?” her mother asked. “Tokashi.” Hiroko said. “You are asking this, after being back for two days, after being gone for a week. And you want to leave for another week?” her mother asked. “Yes. Please. I’ve wasted a quarter of my summer break already. I’d like to go explore the prefecture.” Hiroko said. “And will that lively bunch also be going?” her mother asked. “Yes.” Hiroko said, cautiously. “Good. You know I heard your little conversation a few days ago. When you were trying to come up with excuses about your absence. I also heard what Yuna said afterwards. I don’t want your excuses. I just want you safe, I want Yuna safe. So if the two of you are going to go on adventures all summer, just tell me before going. Please.” her mother said, kissing Hiroko’s head. “I will.” Hiroko said. “Tell Yuna that I love her, and I wish that both of you will be safe.” her mother said. “Ok.” Hiroko said.
Hiroko reached the docks, not finding the group. She looked around, noticing a boat docking. She walked to it from the dock. Finding everyone on it waiting for her. “Hey get in.” Yusuke said. Hiroko walked onto the boat. “If anyone asks, we are going to Tokashi.” Hiroko said. “Good to know.” Yuna said, pulling Hiroko onto a seat. “Before we leave, Hiroko, this is for you, keep it quiet I didn’t get something for everyone.” Yusuke said, handing Hiroko a Jian. “You said that loud enough for everyone to hear.” Ramon said. “I know.” Yusuke said. Hiroko went to unsheathe the blade. “Not yet, it’ll ruin the surprise. Just know that it is imbued with Kami.” Yusuke said. “Cool.” Hiroko said. “So just south?” Ramon asked. “Yep.” Yusuke said. “Cool, so zero clue as to where we go.” Hiroko said. “Pretty much.” Yusuke said. “It shouldn’t be that hard to find an island.” Yuna said.
The night ended, and Yuna found herself waking up to a seagull pecking her. “Get off!” Yuna yelled, throwing herself up, waking everyone. Yuna looked around, and they where still in the middle of the East China Sea. “Where are we?” Yusuke asked. “I thought you knew.” Ramon said. “Why would he know, he’s an idiot.” Hiroko said. “Thanks.” Yusuke said. “Yuna looked into the sea, ready to scoop some up to drink some, she noticed a reflection of something behind the boat. “Hey, stop that.” Hiroko said, grabbing Yuna and pulling her back. “If you are thirsty, drink water from a water bottle.” Yusuke said, tossing a bottle at Yuna, hitting her back.
“Guys, do you see that?” Yuna asked, continuing to look at the water, seeing something reflective. The other three walked to them, and looked at the water. “What is that?” Hiroko asked. “Is there something down there?” Yuna asked. “No, that's magic.” Ramon said. “Light Majutsu.” Yusuke said. He ran to the start of the ship, turning it on, and driving it towards the reflection. “ How does this work, the Majutsu?” Hiroko asked. “So all of you are just going to use Majutsu, instead of Magic, like a weirdo?” Ramon asked. “Yep.” Yuna said. “Are you going to explain?” Hiroko asked. “All Majutsu stem from one of the four Ancestral Majutsu. Fire, Water, Earth, and Fire. But the Ancestral Majutsu evolved. From Fire came other branches. Star, Lightning, and Light are the most common descendants. From light spawn Reflection Majutsu, and Healing Majutsu.” Yusuke said. “So when I did Healing Majutsu I was using Fire?” Yuna asked. “No, I don't think so. Although you have powerful Fire Majutsu, your Healing Majutsu doesn't act like a Fire type. It was more similar to Earth type.” Yusuke said. “Wait, several types can have the same descendants?” Hiroko asked. “Not Direct, but similar outcome. Earth gives way to Iron, and other minerals. Humans contain these minerals, and with enough power and knowledge you can control it, and it becomes Healing Majutsu.” Yusuke said. “Cool.” Yuna said. “So say I combine both Healing Majutsu, would I essentially have regeneration?” Hiroko asked. “That’s the basis on how Ashwang exists, they have both types of Healing Magic, and it is active at all times.” Ramon said. “True, but I think she was talking about Holy People. In any case there is only one person who has been recorded to have Regeneration Majutsu.” Yusuke asked. “Who?” Hiroko asked. “The Blood Spider Lily.” Yusuke said. “Who?” Hiroko asked. “Some lady Yusuke is scared of, we are coming up on the Light Magic, or whatever.” Yuna said. “Are we sure this is safe, what if we run into something?” Hiroko asked. “Calm down, just gun. If we hit a reef, or a mountain then cool.” Ramon said, standing up. “How are you not scared?” Hiroko asked. “I don’t need to be. If I die then cool, if I live then. Well I live.” Ramon said. “Alright gunning it on account of Ramon not being scared to die.” Yusuke said, speeding up. “Why?” Hiroko asked, before getting thrown onto the ground. “What could go wrong?” Yusuke asked. “I will hit you.” Hiroko said. “Why threat, why not do so?” Yusuke asked. Yuna took a deep breath, watching as Hiroko and Yusuke bickered. “Do you understand now?” Ramon asked Yuna. “Understand what?” Yuna asked. “Remember our conversation at the amusement park?” Ramon asked. “Not really.” Yuna said. “Cool.” Ramon said. “What conversation?” Hiroko asked. “Not important.” Ramon said. “Impact in three, two, one.” Yusuke said, timing it as the boat pierces through the Light Majutsu. The group saw an island in front of them, a huge castle, and a city. A time castle of a past era. “I think that is where we are going?” Yuna said. “The Kingdom of Agaitiida.” Yusuke said. Yuna looked at Yusuke. “Agaitiida, Morning Sun.” Yuna said, looking over the kingdom with amazement.
