Chapter 9:
I’m Too OP, So I Decided to Troll My Loli Master Instead of Saving the World
[ Outside the Control Room ]
Thud.
In her haste to save her disciple, Nanako’s left foot clipped her right heel. Gravity took over. She face-planted onto the cold, hard ground with the grace of a sack of potatoes.
The mages in the Trial Plaza froze. They stared blankly at the smoking control room, and then at the Loli Deacon who had just performed a textbook comedic fall.
"Don't just stand there! Get the Arcane Engineers!" Nanako screamed, clutching her oversized hat as she scrambled up, face red with embarrassment and panic.
"The console malfunctioned! My disciple is trapped inside the Glitched Zone! Hurry up and save him!"
Realization dawned on the crowd. Panic ensued. "Code Red! System Failure in Arena 4! Rescue Team, move out!"
[ Inside the Arena: The Glitch Zone ]
Meanwhile.
Lynn stared at the horde of monsters with dead-fish eyes.
It was a nightmare scenario. High-ranking beasts bared their fangs. Demons sharpened their claws, grinning cruelly. They encircled him slowly, savoring the fear. In their eyes, a mere Tier 2 Mage was nothing but a snack.
These monsters had been captured and imprisoned by Winterspring for years. The chance to massacre a Winterspring mage? It was a dream come true.
But Lynn didn’t look scared. He glanced at the shimmering barrier of light, then rubbed his chin.
"Master should be outside by now, right?" He shrugged. "Knowing her, she probably tripped on her way out. Clumsy Loli."
Lynn sighed, shaking his head. "Well, since nobody is watching..."
Lynn smiled.
At that exact moment, the horde attacked. Countless beasts lunged at him. Fangs snapped. Claws slashed. Terrifying roars echoed through the arena. It looked like Lynn was about to be turned into mincemeat.
But in that split second... Lynn looked at them.
His pupils contracted. Boom.
A terrifying, invisible pressure exploded from his body.
WHOOSH.
It was like a shockwave. The charging monsters hit an invisible wall of pure force. One by one, they were blasted backward as if hit by a freight train.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Tier 9 Behemoths? Blown away. High-ranking Demons that required a whole raid team to defeat? Ragdolled.
They slammed into the ground, sliding across the dirt like hockey pucks.
Silence fell over the arena. The monsters lay on the ground, trembling. Their eyes were filled with pure, unadulterated horror.
In their vision, the weak Tier 2 Mage was gone. In his place stood a monster. A towering aura of pitch-black energy rose from his body, solidifying into a terrifying presence that rivaled the Gods themselves.
What... what is this?! Why does a human have the aura of a Demigod?!
"Kneel."
One word. Cold. Indifferent. Absolute.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
It wasn't a choice. It was a biological reflex. Every monster in the arena dropped to its knees. Even the plant-type monsters uprooted themselves just to prostrate on the ground.
"Scary... so scary..." "Who is he? His aura is colder than the Dragon Kings... heavier than the Abyss Lords..." "Shut up and kneel! Do you want to die?!"
Cold sweat poured from their hides. They felt their hearts freezing over. This wasn't a human. This was an Ancient Horror wearing human skin.
No one dared to move. Lynn rubbed his chin, looking nostalgic. "Man, I miss the days when I could flex like this openly. Good times."
He sighed, shouldered his staff, and walked toward the trembling army. Every monster he passed shivered violently, afraid to even breathe too loud.
"Not bad. Not bad at all." Lynn nodded approvingly as he inspected them.
"An Iron-Back Spiked Lizard, on the verge of evolving into a King-Rank... A Black Knight from the Abyss... A Fallen Unicorn capable of wiping out a small city..."
"Winterspring really has quite the collection. Impressive."
Lynn continued his inspection until he stopped in front of a Succubus.
She was a creature from the Abyss. Bat-like wings, curved horns, and a figure that could tempt saints. Usually, Succubi were arrogant creatures who preyed on human souls. Right now, this one was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane. Sweat dripped from her forehead.
W-What does he want? Why is he looking at me? His pressure... it feels familiar...
"You belong to Lilith, the 5th Monarch of the Abyss, correct?"
Lynn’s voice was casual. The Succubus shuddered. She looked up, eyes wide with shock.
How does he know that name?! How does a human know the True Name of my Master?!
She saw Lynn staring at the broken sigil on her shoulder armor. It was indeed Lilith's crest.
"Y-You... You know my Master?" she stammered.
Lynn nodded. A smirk played on his lips. "Yeah, I know her. She tasted pretty good. Great technique, too."
The Demons: (ΩДΩ)!!!!
Tasted pretty good?! Great technique?!
Did he just imply he slept with the 5th Monarch?! That’s a King-Rank entity! Second only to the Gods! You can't just say that! That's blasphemy!
The Succubus was terrified. "M-May I ask... who exactly are you?"
Lynn looked down at her, his smile widening. "Heh. Has it been so long since I visited the Abyss that even the low-tier trash doesn't recognize me?"
In that instant... A hallucination—or perhaps a memory—flashed in the Succubus's mind.
Overlaid on Lynn’s human form was a terrifying silhouette. Massive demon horns. Silver-grey Death Armor. Gigantic bone wings blocking out the sky.
The Succubus’s pupils dilated to pinpricks. She recognized him. The legendary figure from the Abyss Chronicles.
"No! Impossible!" she screamed. "You are the... the..."
