Chapter 13:

Chapter 13: I Know the Answer, But I’m Just Gonna Troll You

I’m Too OP, So I Decided to Troll My Loli Master Instead of Saving the World

Pop. Pop.

Imaginary vein marks "╬" kept popping up on Nanako’s forehead like mushrooms after rain.

She ground her teeth, raising a small, trembling fist. Her eyebrows twitched uncontrollably.

This Dog Disciple! Damn him!

Ever since she gained the ability to hear his thoughts, she had been living in a constant state of suppressed rage. How dare he look down on his Master?!

But now wasn't the time to scold him. If she didn't decipher this Ancient Elven Scroll within twenty-four hours, she would become the laughingstock of the High Council!

Without a word, Nanako slammed her butt into her chair. She picked up a quill and paper, put on her most serious "Scholar Face," and solemnly opened the first page of the scroll.

Then, Nanako froze. She sat there, motionless, as if hit by a [Time Stop] spell.

"..."

"..."

The wind blew through the room. Whoosh.

Lynn watched her from the corner of his eye. Half an hour passed.

[ Inner Voice ] [ 3... ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ 2... ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ 1. ]

Lynn counted down internally. The moment he hit "1", Nanako—punctual as a Swiss watch—slumped forward.

Splat. Her face hit the scroll. Her twin-tails drooped over the edges of the table like wilted vegetables.

"It's too hard..." she mumbled into the paper. "My brain is blank... I can't do it... How is anyone supposed to read this Elven gibberish..."

[ Inner Voice ] [ Hehe. Called it. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Ancient Elven Script? Oh, right. It looked familiar because I used this book to stabilize the wobbly table leg a few days ago. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Is this really something that needs "deciphering"? Isn't it readable if you just have a brain? ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Oh, wait. I forgot. The Elves went extinct a thousand years ago. No wonder modern noobs can't read it. ]

Schwing!

Nanako’s ahoge (cowlick) instantly stood up straight like a radar antenna. Her ears perked up.

Wait... Did he just say... He can read it?!

Nanako shot up from her chair. She whipped her head around and stared intensely at Lynn.

Lynn, who was currently slouching on a nearby chair reading a romance novel, felt a chill run down his spine. He lowered his book, revealing a pair of innocent eyes.

"Master? Is something wrong?"

Nanako wanted to ask him directly. But she swallowed the words.

No! If I ask him, he'll get suspicious. If this Dog Disciple finds out I can hear his thoughts, it's Game Over.

"Come here and copy magic formulas!" She slammed the table, putting on her Tsundere mask.

"Don't think you can slack off just because I'm busy! Have you forgotten my teachings? Study hard, improve every day!"

Lynn: "..."

[ Inner Voice ] [ What's up with the Blue-Haired Loli today? She's hyper. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Usually, when she hits a wall like this, she goes into depression mode for at least a few days. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Something is sus. She recovered way too fast. ]

Muttering to himself, Lynn put down his novel. Under Nanako’s stern gaze, he walked over and sat opposite her. He glanced at the scroll on the table.

[ Inner Voice ] [ Heh. Just as I thought. It’s the script of the Second Generation Elves. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ I'll just sit here and watch the show. Trying to translate this with just one book and no reference materials? Impossible. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ This Stupid Loli will never figure it out. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ And yes, I know what it says. But I’m not gonna tell her. I’m just gonna troll her. Just for the lols~ ]

Nanako: "????"

Fighting the urge to beat him up, Nanako pretended to be casual. She glanced at him and said: "What's wrong, Disciple? Can you read the text on this?"

Lynn shook his head and laughed. "Master, you must be joking. If even you can't read it, how could I possibly understand it?"

[ Inner Voice ] [ How could I NOT understand it? I literally invented this writing system for the Second Generation Elves. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ What a joke. ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Back in the day, I was practically the Elves' sugar daddy... ]

Hearing this, Nanako felt like she had been struck by lightning.

WHAT?! He invented it?!

Is this some kind of dimensional joke?! According to historical records, the Golden Age of Elves was over 1,000 years ago!

Wait... Nanako’s eyes widened. She remembered a previous thought of his... something about living for at least a thousand years.

Could it be...

Nanako quickly grabbed the scroll and held it up to hide her face, afraid her expression would give her away. Her eyes darted around. I need to test him. I need to verify this crazy theory.

Ahem. Nanako cleared her throat. She slammed the book down again, looking arrogant. She pointed at the text.

"It is normal that you cannot read it. But do not drag your Master down to your level. I am ice-smart. I have already deciphered most of it just by glancing at it."

Lynn looked shocked. "Really?"

Nanako ignored his sarcastic inner voice. She sat up straight, pointed at the first line of the scroll, and began to "read."

"Disciple, repeat after me. A... B... C... D... E..."

Lynn was stunned.

[ Inner Voice ] [ A B C D E?! Are you literally reciting the alphabet?! ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Blue-Haired Loli, if you want to pretend to be a genius in front of me, at least make it sound convincing! ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ Even if you read it as a smut novel, it would be more believable than this! How am I supposed to play along with this gibberish?! ]

Lynn roasted her mercilessly in his mind. Nanako glared at him, her face turning red from embarrassment as she heard his brutal critique of her acting skills.

Lynn sighed. His gaze fell onto the title page of the scroll. Seeing the content, his expression shifted slightly. The sarcasm faded, replaced by a hint of nostalgia.

[ Inner Voice ] [ "Elven Era, Year 2021. The Elf King commands all Elven Warriors of the Violet Continent to assemble at the Royal Court." ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ "Prepare to answer the call of the Great Violet First Monarch. Prepare to wage war against the Gods." ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ "We have become God-Forsakers. We shall become God-Slayers. We will blow the horn of Ragnarok." ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ "To the Elven Warriors of future generations: I record our Great Crusade here. If we do not return, this document shall be the only proof of our existence." ]

[ Inner Voice ] [ "End of Log." ]

Nanako froze. She listened to the translation echoing in her mind.

It was a language she had never heard, yet through his thoughts, the meaning was crystal clear. She looked up in shock, staring at Lynn. He was gazing at the scroll in her hands, silent and solemn.

He... he really can read it!

Ancient Elven Script from a thousand years ago... A dead civilization... A glorious, lost history...

And he calls himself the "Violet First Monarch"? The "God-Slayer"?

Her breathing quickened. She immediately grabbed her quill. While Lynn was lost in memory, she frantically began to transcribe the translation she heard in her head onto her notepad.

Scratch, scratch, scratch.

She turned the page nervously, waiting for him to read more.
