Chapter 26:

Roku - Improving The Situation

Bintchoo To Kukuru

Makadu watched the sky, waiting for the next attack. “Hey, it’ll be awhile until they come back. Come sit with us.” Yuna said, grabbing Makadu’s hand. “I can’t sit down. They came here, and ended a third of my people, as well as injured most of them. This was an act of war, and I don’t think we even have the strength to stop it.” Makadu said. Her body was trembling, and she was crying. “He will stop this. We will keep everyone safe. I promise.” Yuna said. Makadu looked at Yuna, and hugged. “Hey, get over here. I’ve got more information.” Yusuke said. Yuna, and Makadu looked at Yusuke. “He has something.” Yuna said, grabbing Madaku’s hand and pulling her towards Yusuke. Everyone gathered up. “Ok, they are surrounding the island at these points. Three assaults at once. Each of these assaults will have a high ranking Hunter. Masato, Riku, Sato, and Menjo. Masato is easily the weakest, so Ramon, you head to the north, and make sure to take him down. Riku will help whoever chooses the east side to take down Menjo, and west side, this beach will have Sato. I’m going to be honest, I don't wanna fight Sato.” Yusuke said, pointing to a map on the ground. “We will stay, me and Makadu. You and Hiroko go join Riku.” Yuna said. “Ok, be smart with her. She is crazy powerful, and very quick. Don’t try to kill her, only limit her. Buy us time to get there, it will take all of us to take her down.” Yusuke said. “Alright, should we do a group thing, like all put our hands together or something?” Hiroko asked. “That would be inappropriate.” Yusuke said. “Besides, Ramon is already gone.” Yuna said. Hiroko and Yusuke looked around. “Ok, then we shall go as well.” Yusuke said.

Yusuke and Hiroko went to leave. “Where are they going?” Makadu asked. “To mitigate the upcoming assault. Speaking of, we have a target, and our only job is to slow her down. This lady is the one after your queen, but she is also powerful.” Yuna said. “Upcoming assaults. We need the Pechin.” Makadu said, picking up Yusuke’s map. “Go alert them, get them to these three spots, that is where the assaults are taking place. My friends already left for the other upcoming assaults.” Yuna said. “Good, I'll be back in, after I get the Pechin.” Makadu said, before leaving Yuna, taking the map with her. Yuna sat on the beach, and watched the sky.

Makadu walked throughout the castle. Pechin had taken in all of the injured, and was treating them. Makadu walked to the Moshikuchi, the Highest Ranking Pechin. “I need you and your help. We have more assaults, and we need the Pechin to help fight.” Makadu showing off the map to the Moshikuchi. “Aji, I wish we could, but we barely have enough manpower to help these people.” the Moshikuchi said. “I’ll get the Queen to cast a large healing Mafu onto the castle, then I need you all to go to these places and wait.” Makadu said. “Yes Aji.” the Moshikuchi said.

Makadu walked to the throne room. “Queen. I need your help.” Makadu said. “Tragedy. I don’t have the power to help. I gave it all to you.” Queen Umitama said. “I can’t help them, please just-.” Makadu started. “Darling, look at yourself, feel the Mabui around you, and hold it close. I gave you everything I had, so you have the will of Utin in you, and I sense the girl you like has the will of Jiichi in her.” Queen Umitama said. “The Mabui, I don't remember it being warm.” Makadu said. “Good, now take the pain, your hopes and dreams, and let them spill into the Mabui, tell the Mabui to heal everyone on the island.” Queen Umitama said. Makadu took a moment to focus, before sighing, releasing a large Healing Majutsu on the entire island. Queen Umitama smiled.

Yusuke and Hiroko sat at the east beach. “I see our boat down there.” Hiroko said, pointing down the beach. “That’s good, I forgot all about it.” Yusuke said. Hiroko chuckled. All of a sudden a large-scale Healing Majutsu swept across Hiroko, and Yusuke. “That feels nice, was that the Queen's Majutsu?” Hiroko asked. “I doubt it. When I met the Queen I couldn’t sense any Kami in her.” Yusuke said. “I would question it, but I'm more happy to not be in pain.” Hiroko said.

They sat in silence for a second. “Hiroko, I don’t know what this morning holds, and I am terrified. I don’t want to die, and I don’t want you to die either, so if anything go-.” Yusuke started. “Nothing will.” Hiroko cut him off. “I wanted to tell you, I-.” Yusuke tried to speak, but he couldn't make any noise. “Don’t do anything stupid?” Hiroko said. Yusuke took a deep breath, and kissed Hiroko. Hiroko leaned into him, before pulling away. “Like that, that was stupid.” Hiroko said. “Maybe, maybe not.” Yusuke said. “Such a stupid phrase. And yes it was stupid. I’m a Buddhist, my job is to ditch all connections, and reach Nirvana. And unlike some people I’m not going to wait until the afterlife to actually uphold my religion.” Hiroko said. “I sense hostility for your grandfather.” Yusuke said. Hiroko looked at Yusuke. “I’m going to kiss you again.” Yusuke said. Hiroko pushed him away, causing him to fall on his back.

They heard walking from behind them. Pechin, walking towards them. “You wouldn’t know how to speak with them?” Yusuke asked. “Nope.” Hiroko said. Makadu returned to Yuna, with several Pechin behind her. “We don’t have a lot so we only have 8 Pechin with us. The other two groups have 9 Pechin each.” Makadu said. “Cool.” Yuna said. Ramon stood on the beach, and 9 Pechin walked up to him. “Cool, backup.” Ramon said. Ramon stared into the night sky. One of the Pechin tried to talk to him. “Don’t bother, I can’t understand you. I’m surprised I can even understand the other idiots. Nihon is such a difficult language.” Ramon said. The Pechin tried to say something again. “No comprehension between either of us.” Ramon said.

The wind howled, and the night eventually retreated letting in the morning sun. “The sun, a morning star. Agaitiida.” Ramon said. From the blinding light of the sun came a zeppelin. “And so it begins.” Ramon said, with a smile. The zeppelin shot out missiles. Ramon's smile faltered for a half second, before he took off running. He jumped into the sky, and shapeshifted into a bird. One shrouded in electricity, and large. A Thunderbird “So glad the Ojibwe has cool monsters.” Ramon said. He slammed into a missile, and the other shot past him. He threw out electricity at it, destroying it. He rammed himself through the zeppelin, tearing through it. He continued to tear it, until garrote wire tore off Ramon's wing. Garrote wire wrapped around Ramon, and slammed him into the beach with the Pechin, a man landed on the Ramon, Masato. Ramon surrounded Masato with electricity, however it didn’t affect Masato. “Hunter’s take care of everyone, I’m after the Queen.” Masato said, as more Rooh Hunters teleported in. Masto quickly tore through Ramon, before heading towards the castle. Ramon reverted back into his human form, and bled, unable to move.
