Chapter 44:
Bintchoo To Kukuru
2 years ago. Yuna was sleeping. She was in a chair, leaning over a hospital bed. “Ms. Chatan. You can’t be in here.” a nurse said. “Where is my mother?” Yuna asked. The nurse walked to the hospital bed, and sat on it. “You already know the answer to that.” the nurse said. “No, she isn’t down there. She is in one of these rooms, not down in one of those bags.” Yuna said. “Ms. Chatan, you can’t be here. You need to go home, get some sleep, we will call protective services, and they will deal with her, and you. Go home.” the nurse said. “I can’t. I need her. I need to find her.” Yuna said. “Ms. Chatan. Please-.” the nurse started, she stood up, and grabbed Yuna’s shoulders, picking her up. “Let go of me. I need to find her. Without her I'm nothing. I have nothing.” Yuna said, pulling away from the nurse. “Ms. Chatan, just-.” the nurse started. “No.” Yuna said, pulling away falling onto the ground. Yuna laid on the ground, trapped in the white box. She sighed, and rolled onto her back. She took a deep breath, and screamed out loud. “Let me out. Let me out of here.” Yuna said quietly.
The dragon looked to Sato and Makadu, and shot a fireball at them. Makadu thrusted her sai at it, sending a wave of Mabui dispersing the attack. It was immediately followed up by a shooting star, flying towards the dragon. The dragon shot another fireball, stopping the star. Sato flew through it at the dragon, wielding her Katana. She landed onto the dragon’s snout, and rushed towards its eyes. The dragon moved its head away, and Sato fell off the dragon. The dragon slammed its chin into Sato, who blocked the attack, getting thrown at the ground. She landed on her feet, and dodged an instantaneous lightning bolt. She threw a star at the dragon, who slashed through it. Makadu thrusted the sai into the dragon’s arm, slamming Mabui into its hand tearing into it. Sato followed up landing on the dragon's arm, placing her Katana in the wound, and started to cut deeper into the wound. The dragon shot a fireball at Sato. Makadu jumped in front of it, and thrusted Mabui at it, destroying the attack. “Hey I don’t think it can be cut through.” Makadu and Sato said to each other. Makadu started running up the arm, but the dragon's tail slammed against its arm, throwing the girls off. Sato grabbed Makadu, and threw her closer to the dragon. The dragon went to slash at Makadu, but Ramon appeared punching the dragon, only offsetting its attack. Ramon grabbed onto it, and reached out his hand to Makadu grabbing her, and pulling her onto the dragon. Makadu ran between its eyes, and thrusted the sai into its forehead, destroying its scales, however it didn’t reach its brain. From the dragon’s scales, shot out electricity, covering the dragon. Makadu was thrown off the dragon. Ramon jumped off the dragon, grabbing Makadu, and landing on the ground. The dragon went after Makadu and Ramon, but Sato slammed a star into the dragon, knocking it into the ground. The dragon's tail whipped Sato into the ground. Ramon stood up, and walked towards the dragon. Around them the Mabui started glowing and taking shape into people. Spirits, ghosts.
Yuna stood up, and walked around the room. She tried to push through the wall, but she fell onto the ground again. “Why am I stuck here? Why can’t I get out of here?” Yuna asked herself. From the white abyss came Mabui, taking form into a woman. “Because you are stuck. Not just in this room. You go on and on, every day, and you are stuck, you have no clue about yourself. Who are you? What do you want?” the spirit said. “Mom?” Yuna asked, looking at the spirit. “Answer the question darling.” the spirit, Yuna’s mother said. “I don’t know. Is that important right now?” Yuna asked, standing up. “Why do you fight? Figure out yourself.” Yuna’s mother said. “Why are you being so philosophical? Yuna asked. Her mother grabbed her and hugged her. “I missed you my darling. I want to figure out who you are.” her mother said. “I don’t even know myself.” Yuna said. “You know who you were. My daughter, a Noro, a student, and a friend. Who are you now?” her mother asked. “I have friends, and we fight together, but that isn’t who I am. It’s what I need to be. I just want to hang out with my friends. I have no idea about anything else. I don’t know who I am, or who I wanna be.” Yuna said. Her mother kissed her forehead. “But you know what you need to do.” her mother said. “I think so.” Yuna said. “Then do what you need to do.” her mother said.
Yuna appeared back in the physical world, seeing all the spirits around her. She picked up the golden Katana, and walked towards the dragon, walking past Ramon. She created a Healing Majutsu, healing everyone. “I don’t know who I am, nor who I wanna be. But that is fine. Because I know when I figure it out, I’ll have people around me pushing me forwards.” Yuna started. Several of the spirits started to resemble familiar faces. Makadu sat up, and saw Umitama standing next to her. Ramon saw his parents and Alice. Hiroko got up, pushing Yusuke up as well. Hiroko saw her father, and grandfather. Yusuke watched as Mabui leeched out of everyone, and started being pulled towards the curse in the sky. Yuna raised the Katana above her head, covering it in red Mabui. “I do know who I am not. I am not one of you. I’m not following genocide, and war for the sake of equality. I am fighting to stop people from suffering. I want everyone to laugh and have fun, and have an easy life free from prejudice. But in order to do that everyone needs a chance to be forgiven, or at least change. You can’t kill everyone and claim to fight for everyone!” Yuna said. “She is naive.” Rokuro said walking past Umitama. He walked to Yuna, and placed his hand on her back. “So what? That’s what I believe!” Yuna said, swinging the Katana down, releasing a slash of Mabui, a white, pure. It cut through the dragon, and destroyed its body, releasing black Mabui around, revealing its heart.
The black Mabui tried to cover the heart. “Don’t let it.” Yusuke said. Ramon grabbed Makadu, and threw her at the heart. She tried to go for the heart, but she was grabbed by a tentacle of black Mabui, pulling her to the ground. Ramon came in and cut through the Mabui, and the two started to destroy as much of the darkness as possible. Hiroko stood up, and walked to Yuna, she created a spear of pure Mabui. Yusuke stayed on the ground, and created a bow of lightning, and knocked an arrow. A tentacle slammed at Ramon, who transformed into a lightningbird, allowing him to dodge, and shoot out a bolt of electricity, before he turned into a Wendigo, slashing through the Mabui. “We can’t do this forever.” Makadu said. “What?” Ramon asked. Yune lifted her arm, aiming at the heart, pulling as much Mabui into her hands. Ramon and Makadu were knocked into each other. They stood back to back. Ramon started turning into a lightning bird, allowing him to shoot our electricity, covering him and Makadu. Makadu grabbed him. The electricity gave a small opening to the heart. Hiroko, and Yusuke both took it, throwing the spear, and shooting an arrow. Both of them hit into black Mabui, creating a bigger opening allowing Yuna to shoot off a white fireball, small but fast, tearing through the heart. In an instant Ramon transformed into a thunderbird, and threw Makadu on his back flying away as the fireball exploded, destroying as much black Mabui as possible.
The force knocked Ramon away faster than anticipated, and Makadu and him landed onto Yuna, knocking all three of them down. They instantly got up, expecting more, but only not seeing any traces of black Mabui, they just looked to the sky seeing only the curse, still draining everyone’s Mabui. Sato and Riku held each other, while walking to Yuna. Sato tried to create a star, but found herself only hurting her arm. “I don’t have any Kami left.” Sato said. Riku picked her up and helped her, feeding Mabui into her, letting them create a small star. Yuna got next to Sato, and helped create a bigger star. It was white, and powerful. Sato lifted it up, and tossed it at the curse in the sky, burning through it. Sato fell onto the ground. Yuna looked around, seeing as the ghosts started to fade. She looked off near her Utaki seeing three figures, one of them being Jiichi. She smiled.
Makadu jumped onto Yuna hugging her. Hiroko followed, hugging them both. “I should really get to know you before hugging you.” Makadu said, before Yusuke joined in on the opposite side of Hiroko. Ramon walked by putting his hand on Yusuke. “Good job everyone.” he said. Hiroko grabbed his arm and pulled him into the hug. Riku looked at Sato, then to the group. “I can’t believe we didn’t die.” Riku said, before dropping next to Sato. He made sure the entire group heard it. “Shut up, we fought valiantly.” Yusuke said. Yuna chuckled, before laughing harder, then finally falling onto the ground fainting, tired.
