Chapter 32:
The Otaku Mage
“How is he?”, Yamada asked.
“Most of the days he goes out before I’m awake and comes home drunk somewhere in the evening. If he’s at home he either sleeps or sits at his computer, watching his Oshi’s livestream with headphones on. He ignores me completely if I try and talk to him…”, Hinako reported downtrodden.
They were sitting in Yamada’s office, a week after Grandmaster Shinoha had collapsed. Hinako was told about it the day after it happened, which didn’t help with her guilt at all.
“I hoped that you could help him through this, he seemed to have grown fond of you over the past months…”, Yamada said with a sigh.
“Well, now I think he hates me and probably want’s nothing to do with me anymore…”, Hinako replied and sighed too.
“I don’t think that’s the case.”
“Why do think that?”
“Because there is no way that he would let you stay with him if that’s the case. Trust me, I know the Otaku for a long time now and if he really wanted you gone, then you would be gone…”
“But every time I try to talk to him, he ignores me…”
“Maybe change your approach, or something?”
“My approach? What do you mean? How am I supposed to talk to him?”
“I don’t know… I don’t know how to handle Otakus… I struggle with that for years now… but you seem to know a bit about that, maybe there is something over that you can connect again and he will listen?”
Hinako looked at her for a moment and then suddenly jumped up from her seat.
“I have an idea! I think… maybe that’s going to work…”, She said and suddenly got a devious smile.
“I’m not sure if I wanna know, but if you think it’s going to work, then try it… Please take care of him… I hate to admit it, but right now, I think you are the only one that can…”, Yamada remarked a bit confused.
Hinako rushed out of the office and began furiously typing on her phone, looking something up on the internet.
“Yeah… yeah… that might work…”, She mumbled as she left the building.
