A Friend

All twelve members of the group charge at Ren and Hina together. Ren is still weak from the poison, and Hina can't do much against so many opponents. There are too many opponents in front of them. In his current condition, both of them realize they are in serious trouble.

Ren says, “ I'm…. Still poisoned. I can't fight properly.Hina, leave me!”

 Hina says, “ No… I don't leave you, Ren. I will protect you at any cost.”

The twelve opponents almost reach toward them. But suddenly, a small black hole appears in the sky. Before anyone can react, all twelve opponents are pulled backward. All of them are dragged into the black hole. 

After a short moment, the black hole explodes.

BOOOOM —!!

All twelve opponents fell to the ground and became unconscious. And all twelve of their wristbands light up red — means they are all disqualified.

Just then, an announcement comes across the battleground.

“ The final exam is over now. Congratulations to all remaining students, you have qualified for the JPW academy.

Ren and Hina stand still, looking confused. Dust slowly settles around them, and an awkward silence fills.

Hina looks at Ren and says, “ Ren … What just happened here?”

Ren says, “ I - I don't know either, Hina”

Suddenly , a voice comes from the other side.

“ Finally… I've found you,”

Ren and Hina look toward them. A black haired boy stands there, waving his hand — it is the same foreign student from the written exam.

The black haired boy suddenly runs toward Ren and Hina. He reaches them quickly and stops in front of Ren. He notices Ren's wake condition and asks, “What happened to him,”

Hina replied, “ some strange flower petals touched him, and poisoned him.”

The black haired boy looks at Ren with concern, “ Are you okay?”

Ren replied, “ I'm —”

But before he can finish, his body loses strength and he collapses unconscious.

The black hair boy looks shocked and disappointed. Then, he looked toward Hina.

“ You are his friend, right?”

Hina nods, “ Yes”

The black hair boy says, “ Take care of him. I'll go get revenge for this.”

Before Hina can stop him or say anything, the black hair boy turns and fastly runs away. Hina watches him leave, holding Ren, not understanding what is about to happen next.

Just then, paramedics enter into the ground to take care of the injured participants. A few of them quickly come toward Ren and Hina.

Two paramedics check Ren's condition, then carefully place him on a stretcher and they begin to carry him away to treatment. Hina also follows them, refusing to leave Ren's side.

Meanwhile the black hair boy walks toward the purple-haired girl. She stands calmly, her face blank, and not showing any emotions.

The black hair boy reaches them, she looks at him and says coldly.

“The exam is already over. Why are you here now?”

The black haired boy smiles and clenches his first.

“ I saw your fight,” he says, “ you defeat twenty - two participants in a few minutes with your flower petals technique. I'm impressed by your power but I don't care about that — but some of your flower petals hit my friend and he got poisoned.”

The black haired boy takes a deep breath and exhales, and says.

“ Aahhh ~ I didn't even get the chance to properly meet him. So now… I'm here to take revenge for my friend's condition.”

The purple haired girl ignores his word and tries to leave. Suddenly, she feels a strong gravitational force pulling her down. Her body bends slightly under the pressure, but she quickly straightens herself. Even though moving has become difficult, she slowly turns her head toward the black haired boy.

“ So this is  all you can do?” she says coldly. “ I can defeat you easily.”

The black haired boy says, “ If you have the courage, then try”

Without hesitation, the purple haired girl releases another wave of glowing purple flower petals. They spread through the air and rushed towards him.

But before the petals can reach him, a small black hole appears beside the black haired boy .

The black hole opens silently — and swallows every single flower petals into its void.

Just then, paramedics arrive at their side. When they see the two participants are still fighting, they are surprised and they also feel the heavy pressure in the air. 

One paramedic think,

( Why are these two still fighting? The exam is already over — but there is immense pressure…. I feel it and barely stand.)

He stepped forward quickly.

“Please stop! Both of you, stop now! The exam has ended.”

But neither of them listens.

The paramedic turned to the purple haired girl, “ Hey! You girl, please stop. You could get hurt”

She gave no reply and not even a look.

The paramedics then look at the black haired boy. “Please, you stop at least. This is a rest time, now… so relaxed boy — and please don't fight.”

The black heard boy says calmly, “ I know this is rest time. That's why I am using this time to take revenge.”

Then paramedics said, “ Taking revenge right now is a stupid choice — I think you should go to the cafeteria and have some snacks instead.”

The black haired boy pauses, “ …. Do they have spicy food in the cafeteria?”

The paramedics nod quickly, “ Yes! Yes! They have many options.”

Then, the black haired boy slowly reduces his gravitational force. The heavy pressure in the air fades away. Then the purple haired girl also stops her attack. 

The black haired boy take deep breaths and exhales, 

“ Aahhh…. Sorry for distributing you, cute girl. Because of your attack, my friend almost got eliminated in the exam. So  I lost my little temper for a moment.”

Then he gave a smile, “ But now my anger is gone… especially after hearing about snacks.”. He turns slightly toward her, “ You are the first person who could stand against my gravitational force — you are really strong and nice to meet you.”

Then the black haired boy stretches his arans, “ Now, I'm leaving. Because I'm hungry.” With that, he walks away to the cafeteria side.

The purple haired girl shows no emotion, and she simply turns and leaves in the opposite direction.

The paramedic finally feels relaxed. “ Thank goodness… it's finally over.”

On the other side, in the medical room — Ren lies in the bed. He slowly opens his eyes, and Hina also is sitting beside him.

Hina says, “ Ren, finally you are awake.”

Ren slowly sits up and asks, “ what happened to me?”

Hina replies, “ You forget, Ren? You were poisoned by some random attack.”

Ren blinks and says, “ Aahh… now I remember. But Hina, what happened to the exam results?”

Hina smiles softly and says, “ we both finally qualified for the JPW academy. But we're almost disqualified in a moment…. But your friend came at the right moment and he saved both of us from disqualification.”

Ren says, “ My friend…?” 

Hina nods and says, “ Yes… foreigner black haired boy. He said, "He is your friend.”

Ren said, “ ohhh… yeah I remember. He is a nice guy — I met him in the exam room.”

Ren and Hina leave the medical room together. Outside of the academy, Ren takes out his phone and calls his grandpa..

“ Grandpa,” Ren says happily, “ I passed the exam.”

On the other side of the phone call, Grandpa laughs with relief. “ I knew you would do it — I'm proud of you, Ren.”

Nearby, Hina also takes out her phone. She calls her parents and says with excitement,    “Mom and Dad, I passed the entrance exam.”

Her parents cheer through the phone and Hina smiles brightly.

Standing side by side, Ren and Hina look at the academy building ahead. Their new journey has just begun.
