Chapter 7:

I wish this was a date

I got reincarnated to solve my own murder case

We wave goodbye to Usami-senpai then I continue following Kido-san’s directions on the whereabouts of our supposed classroom. I still can’t help but feel amazed by how large this Academy is and at the same time, I am also quite impressed by well-designed the architectures are. I’d definitely get lost here even if I didn’t fall asleep and actually payed attention to the orientation regarding the location of where our classroom is, it’s a good thing Kido-san is here with me right now.

Ten minutes of walking and following Kido-san around, we are currently passing by the rooms of the Astral Affinity students (Rin even sees me passing by and then he starts to point at me and then at Kido-san and then making like a ‘lovey dovey’ kissing gesture in his hand…I try my best to drag Kido-san away from there as quickly as possible while making sure she does not face towards the direction of where Rin was making weird gestures.

Eventually we find ourselves in front of a large medieval style building with what seemed like statues of 2 half-naked guys reading a book located in the entrance.

“Hey, you two…”, a woman standing near the one of the statues was calling out to us.

“You two are first year Elemental Affinity students right?”

‘That’s pretty obvious, as I mentioned before, there’s a color coding in the students’ uniforms. Should I give like a sarcastic answer to this woman?’

“Yes-yes ma’am, we are making our way to our designated room right now”, Kido-san answered in a very polite manner, even bowing her head a little.

“Perfect! I was just on my way there as well! Let’s all go together!”

Kido-san politely replied with a smile and nodded while I was just standing there looking like an inanimate poll, still trying to figure out who this woman was and should I really care? The woman smiled back and walked in front of us, Kido-san followed her so I had no choice but to do so too.

Walking behind the woman, I can now give a clearer description of her appearance. She looks like she’s somewhere in her late 20’s, she has a moderately lengthy dark hair (I can’t really tell exactly how long it is, since it’s braided), and right now she’s wearing some black long sleeve tights. Regarding her physique, it’s somewhat similar to Kido-san’s, though she does looks sexier and more mature. I’m not going to describe it any further especially if you’re wondering how big her front is (But yeah, it is quite big).

“Why are you staring at Remi-sensei like that?”, Kido-san must’ve noticed me staring at the woman because now she was lightly pulling on my shirt and interrogating me.

“Wait, “sensei”?”, I was dumbfounded when I heard this from Kido-san. Maybe I shouldn’t have slept all throughout that freshmen orientation after all.

Kido-san must’ve had the same thoughts because after seeing my dumbfounded face, she giggled a little. Remi-sensei sensed our commotion and so she paused and said, “What’s the matter with you two? Ohh I see, you two must be…”, she just laughed a little and then turned back around to continue walking.

“Ehh? What could sensei mean by that?”

I didn’t reply to Kido-san as I was blushing real hard because I knew that Remi-sensei must have a misinterpretation of me and Kido-san’s relationship.

About five more minutes later, we arrived at a “perfectly cubed” building. I mean, whoever designed this must’ve really lacked some creativity because this building looks like the houses I’d draw as a child, except that my drawings were more than just a cube. But the ornaments surrounding the cube building are very well trimmed. There’s one that’s trimmed/shaped like a Pegasus, another one looks like a book, and one even looks like a dragon! The gardener must be a real hard worker because these are some fine work right here.

Remi-sensei entered the building, and we follow her shortly after (To be honest, I wouldn’t have left the garden anytime soon if Kido-san didn’t drag me into the entrance of the building). Taking a stroll down the main corridor, I can’t help but look left to right and then right to left again and again as I was really fascinated by how much space there was inside this building. The main corridor was like a straight line heading to the Entrance/Exit at the backside of the building. For about every 50 steps we make, we would pass by a branching alley that must lead to the different rooms of this building. We then see Remi-sensei stopping besides a door and ushering us to go in first.

“You go on ahead; I need to take something from my office.”

Me and Kido-san nod and Remi-sensei proceeds walking further in the corridor. And since I’m a gentleman, I let Kido-san go inside first (To be more accurate, I forced her to). When we entered the room, the other students paused at whatever they were doing and their eyes were fixed at me and Kido-san. Kido-san looked at the back row chairs and then frowned after realizing that the only free spots were the chairs in front. We both took a seat at the only vacant seats that were in the front row and then the other students shifted their gazes away from us and resumed whatever they were doing earlier.

“Kido-san, thanks for escorting this sleepy head.”, Kido-san replied with a smile after I said this.

I look around and realized that everyone already got here before us and we were the only latecomers (also judging by the number of unoccupied seats left). But why were the majority of the students earlier than me and Kido-san?... And then it hit me… we could’ve just went with the crowd of students which had the same uniforms as ours. And instead we ended up taking something like a date stroll while making our way to the room. Wait, did Kido-san even think of this?
