Chapter 3:

Starving - Arc 1

Lucid Memories:The Observer's Servant Eyes「明晰思い出:観察者の従者眼」

Who were they?

If they were in my memories, it must mean that they were somewhat important to me, right? I don't know, I still feel sick from what I saw, but even so, I have to move on, not because I want to forget it, but because it's a memory, it already happened, and I can't do anything to change it.

And so I moved on, I think, I looked up from where I fell off, it was high, luckily I fell on some bushes and survived, if not, I would've died.

After that, I walked further into the forest, and as I walked further and further, trees started decaying, dead plants, fallen trees, they were almost everywhere, it just surprises me how animals are still able to live in this condition, they're interesting, though they live by eating other animals, it's still interesting, seeing them live peaceful with everything here.

The time passes as there were only a few hours before nighttime came, I started feeling nauseous and so I searched for food, there weren't any edible plants nearby, there were only animals, small animals living peacefully, I was contemplating whether I should eat them or not, but since it was for the sake of my life, I got rid of their peaceful life and killed them.

Taking everyone of them that I lay my eyes on, pounding them with the rock I found nearby, killing them in one hit as I cooked them with the fire I made with the branches, it felt inhumane, yet I didn't care, I only realised that once I was finished, but before that, I only cared about myself, which was normal, but looking back, should've I just searched further, rather than taking away their peaceful lives? I don't know, I don't think I'll never know, because with a world like this, I don't think I'll understand what peacefulness really is.
