Chapter 0:

strangers on a bus.

your morbid screams are melody to the dreadful ones.

the night as rebellious as always. the smoke of the city creates an artificial fog.

strangers come together under a single roof. all kinds of faces. all kinds of names. all the kinds of history you will want to know. the secrets they hide can cost their lives or more than that.

the bus driver. Michael, he is a man of his own secrets. a man who hides behind the mask of an innocent kind older man. he looks at the girls inside the bus with a sinister smile. he forgets to look up at the road. he didn't notice the moment in which the road ended. the city soon disappeared between the dense fog. and a road on the wild was revealed.

the bus was moving around a field. it felt almost empty, ghostly. the sound of crickets and other insects created a sensation similar to fear. it felt as if there was something out there looking at them from the shadows of the night.

Michael starts to get nervous as he doesn't find the way back to the city. he tries to go back, but even so the road seems foreign to his small world. then he sees some lights on the distance. he follows the light until he finds the entrance to a town.

old Michael decides to turn around. one tire blows up. the bus shakes violently, and the idea of escaping becomes foreign to their situation. it was too late. it seems like they have no choice but to stay the night inside the town. Michael keeps thinking about the possibility of getting fired.

there are twenty-seven people in total inside of the bus. some of them are angry. others are still sleeping unable to bring their opinion. others don't mind staying the night inside the town. some want to stay inside the bus afraid of what can be hidden within the town. others don't mind finding a comfortable bed and a nice meal. it has been a long road after all. there is much to think about. so many things to put into question.

Michael smiles gently. he asks the others if they want to stay inside the bus or go search for an inn. everyone starts to argue or avoid bringing their opinion. finally, detective Francesco Miller comes forth trying to calm everyone down. he decides that he will take six other people with him. he is going to search around to see if it's safe or not. he turns around to face his partner. he asks her to stay inside the bus with the rest. he wants her to keep them safe.

detective Francesco Miller orders Michael to be part of the group. he looks at a man in his mid to late fifties wearing a suit. he then looks at a preacher praying holding a bible. he asks those two to also be part of the group. then a nurse and a doctor decide to also follow them. then the detective looks at a man sitting quietly on a corner. he asks him to be the final member of the group.

Detective Miller is not one to jump into action easily. but there was something that felt so wrong about the ghost town. he saw how the bus driver tried desperately to return. it felt as if they had fallen right into a trap. a deadly trap that consumes the flesh and soul. he needed to find right away if they are safe or in danger. his instincts are never wrong. he can feel it. there is something extremely evil staring at them.

Michael doesn't seem to care about anything, but himself. he is furious. he wanted to stay longer inside the bus with the young and beautiful woman. not walk around late at night with some dudes and a woman that as he would call it, "is beyond her expiration date." he is furious. he then puts his right hand on his pockets. he pulls his wallet out. he looks inside. the pictures of multiple girls crying fall to the ground. he tries to grab them all as fast as possible. he hopes that none of the others notice. he is sweating.

the group keeps moving on. then there are bells sounding furiously.

Michael hears a sound. it is the sound of girls crying and laughing. with a creepy smile, he follows the sound blindly. he forgets all about the world. the sound of innocence is calling, and he is ready to answer to the calling. then the voice morphed into the wailing of a dying animal. it was horrifying as he tries to return to the others. but the streets are silent. there is no soul nearby. he looks at a store in a corner. green like yellow lights on. he slowly starts to approach the store. he doesn't know if he should enter or not. the sign doesn't read "OPEN", it is replaced by the words, "ETERNAL VOIDS." instead. he is unsure. then the sinister laughter of children scared him.

Michael runs inside the store. he closes the door. he is trembling terrified. he looks around what seems to be an antique store. there are all kinds of old objects. the lights inside the store start to change color. it goes from green to blue, then to purple. it keeps changing. Michael is terrified as he walks around. he tries to exit the store. but at the front of the store there are pale kids. he recognizes the faces of kids that shouldn't be alive. he feels horror.

then out of nowhere a voice calls for his name. Michael turns around. there is no one inside. he freaks out as he screams desperately waiting to be rescue. strange noises around the store alert him of what may be his end. he falls on his knees begging for mercy. he cries loudly.

then a ball rolls to his feet. there is a piece of paper on it, the words "Guilty." written on it. there is fog on the ground that reveals a big box. the box opens itself and it swallows Michael, and it spits out pieces of wood and ceramic that together make the form of a pig.

the lights turn off. the doors get closed. the sign reads, "OUT OF BUSINESS."

the other six are walking around on the streets. they are calling out for the bus driver. he is nowhere to be seen. Detective Miller pulls a cigarette from his pockets. he remembers the last minute that he throwed away his lighter a while ago. he is mad. then the Doctor offers his lighter. he seems to be tired and humble. Detective Miller takes the lighter and starts to smoke.

"Is rather uncommon for me to be wrong about something. and if I am to be right about something right now. I would argue that the pig is dead. I can't explain it, beyond the simple fact that I don't feel him around anymore. he is far gone from the land of the living." said the detective with conviction and sadness written on his face.

"If the law is said it, I can't deny it as the absolute truth. but how are you so sure? just out of curiosity. as an officer I find it hard for you to be one to believe in superstitions." said Doctor Robert Hall as a man who often questions the supernatural.

"There are things out there beyond our comprehension. you just need to believe it."
