Chapter 1:
Ronove: The World That The Villainess Saw That Night
The year is 1412. The Russo family’s once-every-decade Holy Russo Wars are about to commence. Held in the city-state of Rome in the country of Maitreya, one of the seven continents of the world. Each country sends its strongest fighter to this event to compete and determine who is the strongest. It’s a friendly competition held by Maitreya’s Royal family, the Russo. After the games have ended, the 7 country leaders then get together to discuss world affairs and concessions. This year’s event is hyped up to be extra important too as the Russo royal family has come forward and said that this year, IF any of the other 6 competitors can come out on top and beat the family’s fighter, they will be granted one wish that the Russo family will do their best to grant. This year’s war will also be a test for the Russo family’s fighter, as it is none other than Richard Russo. Son of the current King Rudolf and heir apparent to the throne.Popular with the average citizen and well known as a skilled diplomat even to other countries. Emperor Rudolf has said that if Richard wins this year’s game, he will pass on the throne to Richard and retire right away. All eyes are on Richard Russo as he may usher in a new era of the golden age for Maitreya. Of course, this year’s competition is no slouch either, as four of the remaining six countries have decided to send the strongest fighter in their kingdom’s history. From Rubert Burgundy, the old veteran war general of Magni, who has led countless successful campaigns against their neighbors in Gersemi. We also have from Gersemi, Reinhard von Bart, prince of the imperial family from the Gersemi empire. The mad prince who murdered all his siblings in the battle of succession and came up on top, he frequently butted heads with Rubert and has tied with him many times. On the other end of the spectrum, we have another set of opponents that are long-time rivals. The flashing prince Regulus Pendragon from the Federation city Avalon was a sure-fire candidate to win the previous games, but for one reason or another, he did not show up and thus was disqualified. His rival, Roxy Marryito from the city-state of Ashar, has crossed paths with him multiple times. Her bow can strike you from afar, and she’s also a great musician who leads the mercenary band of hawks and aids her country in territorial disputes. Our first contestant is a unique entry, an android human from the country of Nu wa, said to be the country’s new prototype weapon, and is testing it out right here in this game. From the replica series of androids, Rover. And finally, the 4th of the world’s strongest in the last corner, he’s said to be Tenochtitlan’s mightiest warrior who defended them against the invasion from Nu wa solo, Ricardo Escardos.

Elsewhere, deep underground in Rome, was the trio of Ron, Reina, and Rin. They were sneaking around the underground of Rome, trying to find something. They then started to talk about whether RiRi had successfully infiltrated the competition. They wonder if Rose was fulfilling her side of the plan. On their end, the goal was simple. They were to find the royal council of the Russo's and murder them all except their emperor, Rudolf. Rose was to stop reinforcement, while RiRi was to be the face and take the place of one of the 7 contestants and win the game.
The game will begin in 1 hour. The game rules and format are explained to the audience at large who are watching it on various screens that are recorded by mini drones scattered across the city of Rome. Each fighter, when the game begins, will be teleported to a random location in Rome. There are only 5 rules for the game.
1. You are not allowed to leave the Rome borders, which are enforced by the sensor band around each fighter's arms.
2. No fighting indoors.
3. The winner is the one who gets the most points.
4. Points are earned through either killing as many of the magic beasts roaming the deserted city or by killing your opponent.
5. On the last day, all fighters are to reconvene at the colosseum and have to be there at sundown, or they lose.
Before the games began, the sensory bands were being handed out. These sensory bands also allowed you to track another player's location once a day, no matter where they are. As they were being handed out, the staff noticed one of the fighters’ hands looked weird. It was all black, and their arms felt like rocks. The staff went to inform the royal family after handing everyone their bands.

At the Russo family Board room deep underground, Rudolf and the council of Russo Nobles are discussing the recent happenings. How a lot of the noblemen are mysteriously dying, and their body turns to rock. Now, one of the contestants strangely also has rock hands, and they wonder if they are connected. As the murmuring intensifies, Rudolf silences them all.
He talks about how no one shall sully the honor of this sacred game and tells the staff above ground to release the attack beasts to the fake’s location after teleporting them. As they slowly made preparations to inform the staff above ground, they received another piece of news. The underground base has picked up the trace of five intruders. The elders started to panic again, but Rudolf told them to stay calm and to send the knights to check the entire premise. If they are truly intruders, no mercy shall be shown, and they all have to be eliminated.

Back above ground, the game had just commenced. All 7 participants have been teleported to their respective locations. They each had their plans and goals for the game once it began. Regulus had immediately run off into a building, which was an out-of-character moment for the audience, as they knew Regulus was not that type of guy. There was also another person who made a shocking first move, Rover, who immediately transformed his left arm into a full rocket launcher and sent out a missile that broke into multiple small pieces and flew towards all the contestants. Somehow or another, the missiles knew where each of the other contestants was and homed in on them.
As each missile was flying to each of the contestants, they had each neutralized the attack, all except 2. Regulus, who just ran into a building to avoid the attack, and Richard, who just took the attack head-on. The crowd was amazed. Richard had taken the entire brunt of the attack and suffered no damage. Meanwhile, the crowd was less than pleased with the fact that Regulus was just running away. The Regulus that was known throughout the continent would take each attack head-on, not run like a coward. The crowd was worked up already, and it had only been a few minutes.
***
Regulus, of course, was not the person the crowd thought he was, for he was our villainess girl who had taken the real Regulus’s place in this competition. She had subdued the real one and disguised herself as him, entering the competition to kill Richard specifically. This, of course, meant she had to strategize properly and avoid confrontations. So her plan was to avoid all of the contestants and rack up points by killing as many magic beasts as possible and then make a run to the stadium on the last day. As she was thinking about the plan, she heard a continuous loud boom coming from outside. She peeked her head out to have a look, only to suddenly be faced with an incoming fire arrow being shot at her face. The villainess had barely managed to avoid the flaming arrow, but the goal of said shot was never meant for her. Instead, it was to burn the building she was in, forcing her to come out.
***
The one who fired that shot was no other than Roxy; she was the first to realize something was up with Regulus and decided to follow him. She hijacked the teleporter to allow herself to be able to teleport near where the fake Regulus was teleported to.
She decided to smoke the fake out by setting the building they were in on fire. Her plan had worked, and the fake had come out, but it was not to her expectations.
***
What was unexpected was that the villainess had popped out of the building from the roof and was surfing on a hoverboard, flying towards Roxy at top speed.
Roxy proceeded to launch a volley of arrows at the villainess, who had avoided all the attacks with careful maneuvering. However, one of the arrows then flew back and hit the villainess in the back, knocking her down from her board and setting her on fire.
The villainess' disguise was burned away, revealing a red-haired girl underneath.
Roxy demanded her name before killing her who sullied the name of her rival.
The villainess replied “Our name is Rilim. Rilim Ronova”
