Chapter 2:

Strength of a burning hawk VS The Arrival of the Shining Lion

Ronove: The World That The Villainess Saw That Night

The whole crowd watching the games on the screens started to be hysterical, after all, the Regulus who entered the competition was revealed to be a fake. And the one behind it was a girl who looked no older than 18 and had the name of the continent's most problematic villainess. Said to be responsible for at least 3 different uprisings that led to each town being wiped. She was the modern incarnation of the long-forgotten ancient evil Ronove foretold to bring ruin to the continent. Right on the fields where she was unmasked was Roxy. She was startled by the name, too, which showed how far Rilim’s infamy had reached. As Roxy and Rilim were deciding their next moves, an announcement played across the various camera drones. Attention remaining participants of the games, a new challenge has been added. Anyone who can behead and kill the infiltrator of the games will get an automatic immunity that gives them a free wish, even if they don't win the games. Roxy was elated to hear the news, after all, strong as she was, she was never gonna win when the likes of the war hero Rubert and Ricardo were in this competition too. With this, she can still get her wish without needing to win. Roxy then takes out a whistle. She blows on it, and a rift appears. Out of the rift comes a giant hawk, which is carrying on its back a sack of equipment. Roxy removes the sack from the hawk and starts attacking. Inside the sack were various small firearms that did not need to be reloaded and shot fire bullets.

Roxy fired the bullets at Rilim, who wasted no time dodging them. She was hoping to get a leg up and attack Roxy before she could draw her bow, but the hawk screeched, stunned her for a bit, just enough time for Roxy to draw her guns but not enough to hold her still. Rilim easily dodges all the bullets with ease. Rilim then pulls out a sword, magically out of nowhere, and starts to get in range to end it in one blow. Roxy then pulls out a small bomb and throws it at Rilim, who cuts it easily. The bomb turned out to be a smoke bomb, which was what Roxy was counting on as she quickly hopped on her pet hawk and took flight. However, what she didn't expect was that Rilim had managed to grab hold of the hawk's leg and tried to climb aboard as the animal took flight. Roxy then commanded the bird to shake Rilim off, which it managed to do after a while, sending her flying down to the ground. Roxy had thought that would be the end of it, but Rilim just landed on the floor with no injury. The place where she had landed looked more damaged than she was.

“You gotta be kidding me, what the fuck is wrong with this girl.” Roxy sighed.

She then went back to her original plan she had wanted to do before the short interruption. She took out the bow she was carrying, and it transformed into an even bigger bow with a crosshair. She then created fire arrows with her magic and started aiming at the sky, not at Rilim.

“Well, the fire arrow worked the first time, so I'm guessing she's not immune to magic. Have fun with this. Phoebes Catastrophe.”

The fire arrow shot to the sky, then split into a thousand smaller arrows that looked like raindrops and started to rain down on Rilim. They were also quite fast, and she would not be out of range in time. Every hit would inflict a huge burn on Rilim, despite its size. Rilim then took out a strange gadget and uttered a phrase in an unknown language, and a huge energy shield appeared around her, emitting from the device. The shield blocked every single shot, and Rilim was left unharmed.

“You’ve got to be shitting me, that's illegal!” Roxy shouted.

Roxy, whose initial plan had fallen through, tried to think of another strategy; however, Rilim would not give her that chance.

Rilim then put the device into an open slot on her sword, and the sword started to emit a blue aura.

She then took a swing of her sword, and suddenly, a huge ice pillar formed. She then ran up the ice pillar and leaped off the top into the air.

Rilim was once again up in the air and then did another slash.

This time, icicles formed where she slashed, and she was targeting the hawk and Roxy.

Roxy then flew past all the Icicles, but that was what Rilim wanted.

She used the opening Roxy had shown during the maneuver and once again landed on the hawk. Rilim then tried to stab the sword through the hawk’s neck, but the sword would not pierce through and instead bounced off. As Rilim tried to regain her balance from the failed attack, Roxy fired a close-up arrow at Rilim’s legs. The attack worked, and Rilim’s leg was shot through and on fire. Rilim then jumped down from the hawk and did an unexpected move by cutting off her legs. Everyone watching was shocked, but what happened next was even more shocking. Rilim’s legs grew back after a few seconds with no damage or burnt marks. What could be seen, however, was that her bare leg was also fully black like her arms.

Rilim then took the chance to run away from Roxy as Roxy gave chase in the air.

We cut back to about half a day before the games had begun. Regulus was on his way to the competition site. He had not brought any servants with him despite being the prince of Avalon, as he never felt like he needed protection. That was his first mistake. His second mistake was that on his way to the competition, he spotted a young girl and stopped to have a chat with her. The young girl was crying and asked the passing Regulus for help. Regulus, being the chivalrous prince that he was, agreed to help and followed her to an abandoned building. Upon arriving inside the building, which had no light and was pitch black. Regulus looked around and asked the young girl what it was she wanted him to do here. Before Regulus could get an answer, a huge cage fell on him and trapped him inside it. The cage was huge and half the size of the building they were in. The lights then turned on, and Regulus finally realised he had been set up. Regulus slammed the cage’s handles and demanded to be let out, but there was no response. The girl had mysteriously vanished, and Regulus was now left stuck in the cage for who knows how long. Regulus was bashing on the cage for hours, trying to find a way out, but there was no luck. “I didn’t wanna do this now, but I have to, I’m gonna be late. Noble Roar.” Regulus shouted the name of his strongest attack as he put both of his hands together as fists. Out came a burst of huge light energy shaped like a lion, which caused the building and by extension the cage to explode. Regulus had just fired his signature attack. Noble Roar is a move that can be used only once a day. He slams both of his fists together to create a huge explosion of light energy that disintegrates any non-organic objects around within a huge radius. He was gonna save it for the competition, but alas, he had no choice. He had to break free and get to the competition ground before the time. However, it was too late. By the time Regulus had gotten to the appointed location. He had been told the competition had started and that Regulus had already been teleported to the location. Regulus, of course, was livid; he was right here, how could there be a 2nd Regulus who has taken his place? He demanded to speak to the person in charge of the competition, and after much yelling, was put directly to Sir Rudolf and the council of Elders. Regulus was shouting about how the Regulus who was currently in the competition was a fake and demanding that he be put into the competition. The council at first was skeptical and demanded to see proof of his identity. As Regulus reached out to grab his identification papers, he realized they were missing. They were probably stolen by the girl he met. With no way to prove his own identity. Regulus was at an impasse. He kept insisting he was the original, and while some of the councilmen were swayed, others were still unsure. It was then that Roxy had engaged Rilim at her hideout and forced her to reveal her identity. The council and Sir Rudolf were then convinced. As Sir Rudolf made the emergency announcement about Rilim’s identity, a group of people came to Regulus out of nowhere, saying they would now teleport him to the battlefield. Before Regulus could get his bearings, he was forcefully teleported to the middle of the arena and landed right in front of Rilim, which led to the present situation.
