Spring Hiatus

Hi everyone. Despite what I promised last weekend, I was unable to focus to write this weekend. I had family visiting and, with yesterday and today being warm (and likely the 2nd or 3rd false midwest spring), I've been unable to keep myself inside. With my focus being directed at the current novelous worlds contest, I don't think I can handle doing two novels at once, since the weekend is the one time I can sit and write. However, I don't like the idea of taking a 3 month break, so I'm going to say that The Serpent and the Dove will be on a break until April 5th 2026. At that point, I'll evaluate where I am in both life and my progress on my other ongoing novel and see if I need to put The Serpent and Dove on hiatus until the contest ends in May or if I think I can handle doing both. Thanks for being patient with me; I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I love writing and wish I could be more consistent, but it can be hard for me because of my disabilities and the fact that my IRL day job is working with little kids with disabilities, so I'm constantly exhausted and burnt out during the week. Hopefully, though, the weather warming up and it being lighter out longer should be good for my mental health and I'll have more brain power and focus to devote to my writing at night after work. Happy spring, and I'll see you all back here in April.
