Chapter 2:

Chapter Two: The First Companion - Ichiro

Livelihood Dungeon! (English Version)

Lucky for Peter and the wolf, the gigantic wild bear still faced another direction, paid them no heed as it continued to gorily feast on its prey.

Peter's shoulders relaxed. He didn't realize it was tense because of nervousness. He focused all of his attention at the wolf once again.

The wolf still hasn't fully recovered from the fear. It was still shaking like a leaf.

The wolf looked at Peter with teary eyes as if it was begging him not to abandon it, to not leave it to die.

Peter made contact with it. Without speaking, he helped the wild animal to stand up. After that, he supported it as they walked towards the portal.

Soon, the two entered the portal leading to the Livelihood Dungeon.

...

Peter lost all of his strength just after closing the entrance leading to the Livelihood Dungeon. "Dungeon close!"

He fell together with the wolf on the grassy plains of the dungeon. As he regained his strength, he looked at the wild animal he rescued by his side.

Peter swallowed a few consecutive times as he remembered that it also posed danger in his life.

Our stupid and poor MC hurriedly performed the sign of the cross.

The wolf seemed to sense the gaze of the one who saved its sorry ass. It stared back at the person who was now slowly backing away from it.

The wolf's head tilted in puzzlement at its saviour's strange action. It stood up and slowly approached the human.

"No! Don't come near me. You stay there!" the human commanded the wolf with a slight tremble in his voice.

The animal can't understand what this good human-being was saying but it could understood one thing in his voice.

It recognized this sound.

It's the kind of tone its countless prey produced before it turned them as its food to fill its starving stomach in the past. To show that it meant him no harm, the wolf stopped moving and sat on the grassy ground. It just remained sat.

A few moments later, the man was stunned speechless by the behavior the wolf was exhibiting.

Peter chortled in amusement.

The wild wolf that once wanted to prey on him now behaved like a gentle sheep.

An interesting idea popped-up in the mind of the owner of this equally interesting Livelihood Dungeon.

"Since you seemed kind enough, let's try that thing on you!" Peter declared with a goofy grin.

He whistled and made the wolf came close to him using his index finger.

The wolf gleefully rushed to Peter.

Peter fell on his back accompanied by a soft thud. He felt the warmth of the grassy earth. His face became very wet and sticky. He also smelled a fishy and an unpleasant smell coming from the wolf's mouth. Oddly enough, instead of being in a foul mood caused by the smell, he felt happy. The wolf was now excitedly playing with him.

"Stop it!" Peter reprimanded the excited wolf with a playful laugh while he also gently pushed it away.

The wolf sadly growled as his savior stopped him from horsing around.

Peter laughed by how it cutely acted.

"Status," enunciated Peter.

Yes 👈 or No?

...

Peter clicked yes. When he pressed that, an image appeared in his head.

...

As this is your first time of buying a Crest of Friendship, you will need to set a design to make as your unique crest.

...

In Peter's mind, a set of tools for designing his new crest appeared.

Peter nodded his head as if someone would see his acknowledgement.

The man started to do his task.

He already have an idea of what he would use as his trademark design.

He planned to use a simple design.

Firstly, he sketched a perfectly done circle of a medium size. Little by little, he erased some parts within that perfect circle. He also drew some imperfect circles of varied sizes inside it. For the finishing touches, he drew flames to surround the thing that looked like a rock, then he started to shade it carefully.

After finishing the drawing the final product became clear. A cool-looking meteor was born.

With satisfaction, Peter finalized the form. He officially made it the design.

...

When the Peter who was on a trance returned to his senses, he was already holding into something that felt alive.

It's the Crest of Friendship which was no longer blank. It's a meteor design.

It's kind of amazing that it's as if some sort of magic was in play that Peter already knew how to use it even though no one was telling him how to do so, and so, he followed his gut-feel.

Peter presented the Crest of Friendship to the wild wolf. The human felt as if there's a huge lump down his throat. He's getting nervous from anticipation. The wild wolf was potentially his first companion pet.

Peter's eyes lit up as he saw the wolf respond in the direction he wanted.

The wolf placed one of its front paws on top of his human savior's opened palm where the Crest of Friendship was situated without any hesitation.

The exact moment when the wolf's paw made contact with the crest, the two individuals from two different races started emitting blinding lights.

.

When the light that enveloped the human and the wild wolf disappeared there already was a mark on the wolf's forehead.

Peter couldn't contain himself from laughing caused by an uncontainable joy. He carefully observed the once wild wolf that was now a tamed one.

The tamed wolf dumbly stared at him.

The new master of the wolf was surprised because he's sure that the animal is happy while staring at him.

Peter was somehow able to connect it to the connection pertained by the description of the Crest of Friendship.

He arrived at the conclusion that the connection reached a point in which he can even perceive the emotion of his companion pet/s per every second.

Crazy! he exclaimed in shock inside.

"I am Peter." he introduced himself.

It seemed to be the trigger for the wolf. It furiously wagged its tail.

Peter was stunned speechless by what his new companion wolf did next.

The wolf laid down on its back on the the grassy floor and furiously wagged its tail once again. It stuck its tongue's out as it showed its belly for its new master. It excitedly anticipate its savior to stroke its waiting belly.

Peter didn't know how to act with the wolf's unexpected appearance. It took him off-guard that a wolf, tamed or not, would actually show its belly as a sign of submission. Wolves are wild animals by nature. He can't believe it.

The new master decided to caress its belly after seeing its expectant looks.

"I'll grant you a name," declared Peter as he finished inspecting its status.
