Spinosaurus' Revenge in the Storm

Outside of the woods, the sky was grey and dark, the sound of the thunder and rain echoed through my ears, winds howled as the leaves fluttering, the entire forest was covered in thick fog. 

Inside the warmth shelter, I dozed off in peaceful nap inside our makeshift shelter was made of rocks, mud, moss and woods, alongside with the mother T-Rex with my siblings was spent this home with their help before storm, my tail tucked on my knees, it was definitely safe, at last…

I stirred from my slumber, rubbing my eyes with my left hand, I turned around as I could see my family was still dozing from exhaustion. I stretch my limbs before heading out from the shelter to hunt for food. 

I grabbed my spear beside the exit and left; Preparing for the hunt. 

My mother stirred from her slumber, followed by her offsprings, they both stared at the exit as my silhouette slowly shrinking in the misty woods as I moved forward and vanished, leaving a trail of my footprints on the damp earth. My mother let a low whine in concern and maternal instinct, she immediately followed after me, alongside with her five offsprings.

A flash of lightning booming around the forest, illuminate the trees causing creatures flinched and retreat from their shelters. 

The juvenile T-Rexes let out a squeak in panic and fear, and hide beneath their mother's legs, the mother let a low purr, nudging it's massive snout against theirs, trying to soothe their fears, five of them; the youngest and vulnerable let a low chirp, shivering from cold air, the wind howled, crashing trunks fallen on the ground with a loud THUD, a group of sauropods fled, and any other creatures for the sake of their own life. The mother T-Rex grunted, her massive head tilted, gestured her offsprings to followed her, before the disaster happens, hoping her hybrid daughter was arrived safely without any signs of injuries and scars from hunting. 

They return safety back on their home, but the mother T-Rex lifted her massive head, her reptilian gaze fixed at the mouth of the cave, outside; the hybrid girl aren't around or coming back after hunt, busy for hunting...

I wandered around the woods, I coiled the wooden staff of my spear with my reptilian tail, while riding on the velociraptor's back; my rescued and loyal guard when I saw it injured and vulnerable since year ago, while my mother and my siblings wasn't around.

I called it by using sharp whistle by using an old shell of deceased snail I found on the ground, I named it blue; not because it was color blue of it's scales, because of the streaks between the side of it's head, it was very loyal instead of feral and fear, it knows me as it's rescuer and caretaker. We both moved but then, suddenly blue the velociraptor paused mid-run, lifted it's head, sniffing the scent of stranger, I looked around, gulped nervously beneath the mask I made by myself. Then my head snapped, I clutch the wooden staff of my spear, snarled at defensive mode, blue spun around with a low growl rumbling on it's throat, I pointed the blade cautiously against the darkness of the thicket, my knuckles became pale, trembled in agitated. Then the thicket began to trembled and shaken. Then, the low growl echoed; two pairs of glowing reptilian eyes appeared behind the bushes, slowly emerging from the leaves, my eyes widened in disbelief, I realized it was the same spinosaurus I've encountered from yesterday, it was return for taking revenge to devour me alive. Without hesitation, Blue fled away, the spinosaurus roared in irritation as it followed after us, trying not to failed it's goal this time.

As blue fled, it's feet stepping into the damp earth with splash. I glanced over my shoulder, my eyes widened, I could see the silhouette of the spinosaurus behind the thick fog, it refused to give up, it increased it's speed, trying to reach us with it's jaws, trying to force us to surrender but Blue dodge and it moved faster as it can, the lightning booming around the woods, it's light illuminate it's form, the spinosaurus leaned with it's mouth open, saliva strands gleamed on it's razor sharp teeth, I gasped, but Blue moved faster as it's massive jaws snap shut, almost on Blue's tail. 

I sighed in relief but when I turn around my expression changed from relief into pale, as we didn't realized it was the dead end, Blue scrapping it's feet to prevent us to fall, as few earth fell beneath on it's feet. 

I let out a shuttering breath in agitation and relief. But this isn't done as I could see the trees trembled and shaking, the spinosaurus emerged, more irritated than earlier encounter, letting a low growl in amusement and predatory, it's crocodilian mouth showing a razor sharp teeth, took a step forward but Blue and I can't move, we realized we've been cornered once again. The spinosaurus charge towards our direction, Blue without hesitation it leaped itself from the damp ground before it landed on the spinosaurus's back and leaped once again and did the same action, it stumbled into the ground with a wet snap 

THUD! 

The spinosaurus snapped it's massive head in exasperated, and lunged forward but it eventually tripped into ground, the earth was slick in rain water as it slowly pulling it's heavy body below, the lightning booming behind it's form, the spinosaurus roared in desperate as it's grip on the slick ground slipped, it let a final cry, and descending into ground below... 

It died, right? I wondered, my chest slowly rising and falling in each breath I made. 

My untamed hair breezing on the storm wind, I glanced one last time before I leaped myself on Blue's back before we fled away, heading back to our home; safe but left only few wounds and cuts, but not deep enough to heal in two days.

I arrived at home, my siblings squeaks and chirp in excitement and concern, their small tail wagging behind them as they all tackled me, causing my balance wobble and lay in the ground. My mother T-Rex sat on her nesting, purred softly; relief, although she was still traumatized and concern on my sudden disappearance without leaving a note. At least I was safe with Blue; my velociraptor on my side.

The entire forest become silent as the rain cleared, rainbow displayed across the sky, the sun appeared in the clouds, dinosaurs emerged from their shelters, proceed their daily routine and survival instinct.

Beneath the trees… the deceased body of spinosaurus lay still on the ground, it's massive jaws open, covered in thick crimson. The ground beneath pooling as school of flies draw nearer towards it's limp body, as it's body slowly starts to decomposing…
