Chapter 25:
meet the bloodbriars
A small book club of outsiders flourishes quietly at the back of the classroom.
I hover in the shadows, occasionally whispering advice, suggesting references, encouraging exploration. Any student attempting to control the club fails spectacularly. Their hubris collapses under the quiet competence of the outsiders and my subtle guidance.
The students flourish in secret, confident and capable. I nod faintly, pleased. Hubris is punished, talent is nurtured, and the gothic atmosphere remains intact.
