Chapter 24:
meet the bloodbriars
The substitute believes the class is theirs to command.
They fail spectacularly. Students rebel, minor chaos erupts. Papers fly. Pens roll. Disaster disguised as authority.
I return mid-class, silent, stepping lightly into the room. One eyebrow rises. One perfectly placed comment, and the room freezes.
Students straighten. Apologies murmur across desks. The substitute falters, unable to recover. I sip tea quietly, then leave. Shadows reclaim me. Success, as always, effortless.
