Chapter 29:
meet the bloodbriars
Alone in my classroom. Papers graded. Books arranged. Tea steaming.
A curious student lingers. I respond with precise intimidation, sarcasm, and subtle logic. They retreat, chastened but enlightened.
Later, at home, I sit with Beckett and the twins nearby. Pajamas on after a long day and wearing my favorite black bathrobe, tea, quiet. Shadows safe. Hubris punished elsewhere. Peace reigns.
