Chapter 33:
meet the bloodbriars
Family gathering.
Too many people.
I remain in the shadows.
The twins are… teaching.
That’s the only word for it.
“Don’t interrupt,” Persephone tells a younger cousin twacking her with a book like Diana would.
“Let them talk,” Hades adds. “They’ll reveal everything.”
Minutes later, an adult embarrasses themselves mid-story.
The children watch. Silent. Learning.
Terry laughs. “They’re training them.”
“…Of course they are,” I mutter.
Diana watches, amused.
“They take after us,” she says.
“…I’m concerned,” I reply.
“…You’re proud,” she corrects.
She’s right.
