Chapter 13:

Chapter 13

The Flower That Made Me Remember You

Charlotte sees what Alice is talking about, even though Charlotte and they never talk. There were a few times Charlotte would hear him comfort her. Saying that it was okay and that he would do the killing, even though she didn't hear him. Charlotte would never answer back, as it seemed like a dream. She got up from the table of sweets to leave and said, “You can keep watching and see if I can show that I really want my wish.”

One day, Charlotte witnessed Ray and Aki killing people without warning. Charlotte demanded. “Why are you doing this? What will she do when she finds out about this?” Ray replied. “When you talked to Alice, you thought Alice was cruel.” Aki interjected, “We’re not here to fight; they have picked you.” Charlotte felt a surge of fear and prepared to fight back.

Aki was smiling while Ray cleaned up the mess with a stoic expression. Stories had gone around about them being a witch and her knights who would keep people away from that place. Yet, it said that your wish would come true if you could get the witch to like you. They met again; Alice held Ray’s and Aki’s hands. Alice's right hand held Ray's, and her left hand held Aki’s.

Then they noticed Charlotte wasn’t acting like herself. Charlotte's face was usually harsh like Alice's, but now it appeared soft, though that gentleness vanished the moment she saw them. Alice's eyes were different; one of her eyes was red, and where Ray's red eyes used to be was pink. Aki's skin no longer bore a ton of flowers; only a few remained, like delicate drawings on his body, mirroring the faint marks on Alice. Steering at them to be on guard, Alice said, "You don't have to stare like we’re going to hurt her; we're here for a walk."

Seeing she took something out, Ray stopped his attack. Seeing that it was a knife, Alice told him again. “They're not gonna do anything to her. Why would they do that? For fun? That wouldn't be fun for fate. The outside world that Charlotte wants to see is not what she thinks, yes, it is beautiful, but it is empty. It has always been.” Alice said while walking past her.
