Chapter 12:

Chapter 12

The Flower That Made Me Remember You

They both perceived two distinct realities. When Charlotte came to this place, people started hearing singing. Scared of the song as they didn’t know what it meant, so they never went to see what it was. There was a man that would see how it was singing, seeing it was nothing like what they were saying. It was just a woman singing. They never met each other until they became one. He grew to want to talk to her, as he would always watch her sing.

He was happy it was Charlotte, but being one with her feels her fear. Charlotte's days fighting with the doctors and scientists with terrier-like eyes and bloody hands. They were always told their wish would come true. Charlotte met several other test subjects and learned that some were cruel. Desiring only the wish, while others were kind, simply yearning to escape.

One day, Charlotte saw Alice sitting alone with her foot in the pond. She walked up to her and asked if she wanted to see the outside world. Alice's answer was a firm “No.” Alice was content with what she had, the desire to be together with them. Charlotte, however, yearned to see the outside world, to witness what it was like, even if it turned out to be empty.

The place Charlotte was always at, a tree that was always in bloom as it was from her always singing. There Alice said her last two wishes, wanting to have tea with her. Alice took her hand by force, taking to where the pond was, as there was a table. Alice took a seat as Ray and Aki set the table with tea and sweets. Taking the teacup to her lips to drink the fruity, smooth tea as a few minutes passed in silence.

Charlotte was feeling fear as she didn't know what was going on while Alice was eating her sweets. As Charlotte was now drinking the tea, Alice said, “You want to know who’s in you? I know where they are, but I want to know how much you want it.” Confused by what Alice said, as she knows she wants it but before saying anything. Alice then continued to say, “You're scared, that’s why you won't do anything because it was the one in you that has been doing the parts you didn't want to do.”
