Chapter 1:

Gentle Start

Archive 2 - Once again, nightmare begins

small note : Read "Archive 1 - Once again, I am dead" before starting this.

My name is Oozomi, my surname Kirami. I was sent to school at the age of 7 for the first time. I asked my father, who is now 27, “How are you so strong?” He then replied “It was a long time ago, where even I don’t remember who I was,” I didn’t really understand but I just thought he was being dramatic.

This year for my birthday, he gave me a present. He said not to open it until he die. I was confused, was this money to help me in the future; is this his bank account for the future? Well I just decided to listen to him and open it when he dies.

When I reached about 10 or 11, my father gave me a bell. He said to ring the bell if I am ever in danger. So I just kept it in my pocket.

Well I could maybe learn magic, but I hated magic. I had a sister, but she died to magic. She used to much magic, way more than the energy she had and ended up dying. She died when I was about 5 years old and I hated magic ever since.

It was a good thing I didn’t inherit any magic from my father. My sister inherited it from my father. My mother on the other hand, she has gone missing when I was 6 years old. I don’t know if she is dead or alive.

I didn’t hate my mother, it is just she went missing when I was still depressed from my sister’s death. So it didn’t leave a huge impact to me.

I started school 1 year after my mother went missing. I just didn’t seem to pay attention during class, the teacher said. Well it wasn’t that I am not paying attention. Something caught my eye during class, well my ear. My eye sight isn’t all that good. I can catch something moving fast with my eye, but I can’t see far. My hearing on the other hand, some say I could hear someone's  heartbeat if it is out of rythm or they have heavy breathing.

When I was 13, I got lost on the way home from school. I tried looking for a bus since busses tend to have maps at the bus stop, but I couldn’t find any bus stops. I somehow reached an alleyway, it was already about 6.30 p.m. I was getting worried.

Then a group of thieves come out behind me and attacked me. I panicked an threw my school bag at them. From the sound of my bag dropping and hitting the rubbish can. I remembered that I had a bell, I rung the bell and waited. “Heh, what is that toy? Something that you think will safe you?” the thieves said in a mocking way.

I then took a few steps back. Not long after, what sounded like one’s leg getting snapped was heard. One of the thieves leg got snapped. It was my father standing there with a menacing look. When the thieves got a good look at the face of my father, they said “Who is this old geezer?” “Move aside if you don’t want to get hurt old man,” they continued. My father then told me to look at his movements and told me if I can find any flaw in his movements.

Since he uses magic, I couldn’t see the magic clearly. I never had magic in my blood, so it would be hard to see the magic. My father then said something under his breath, but I couldn’t hear what he said. Right after that, he disappeared, then I see him at the thieves, but the thieves are on the ground, hurt. I didn’t even see what happened, did he move as fast as light or is it something else?

My father then asked “Do you still not want to learn magic?” “I will take it that your answer is still a no, fine then, you better be as strong as me when you get older,” my father continued. He took the bell from me and said. Next time, try to fight.

The very next day, he brought me to a dojo. I was confused, will I be fighting 17 year old people? It ended up being a dojo for people below 14. The person who looks like the person who runs the dojo asked “Now who is this little boy?” My father answered “I want to enroll her in this dojo,” “Wait........her?” the sensei replied. I then replied with saying despite my looks, I am a girl you know.

I did not mean to give off an impression that I am a boy, I act like a boy, somewhat harsh. I wonder if those people at my school think I am a boy or not. The sensei then told me to spar with another student there to see where I belong in this dojo.
