Chapter 12:
Unforgivable Vengeance
The morning sunlight cascading on the earth's surface, the river water illuminate and flowing continuously with schools of fish leaped from the surface and landed back on the flowing water, bunch of frogs croaks and grunts sat down in the lily pad, their long tongue trapped the fly before they devoured alive.
I travel around the woods, doing my own daily routine, minding my own business while my mother T-Rex was gone for taking care of her offsprings, she allowed my freewill, but with cautious, especially from the other prey.
I pressed my forehead against it's massive snout before leaving with my spear coiled safely with my small tail preparing for my own journey ahead.

I panting heavily as I dashing, shaking my head to remove some dust and litters away from my hair, I pushed some bushes from my sides when my eyes widened; I saw a light, not just a light—a freedom. I creep down using my four feet, drawing nearer towards the source of light, until I emerged from the thicket shaking my head, my gaze suddenly landed lower towards the source of light, I caught leathery binding and I realized it was a ancient book; a very rare book, the papers was thick maybe more than two hundred page?
I crawled cautiously, leaned my face nearer made my nostrils twitched, I let a low guttural snarl slipped from my lips, I believe it was moving it's own, but it lay still in the ground. I tilted my head back and forth in curiosity, without hesitation I pressed my nose against the leather cover, inhaling the scent of something ancient and papers, why people throwing this thing like this? Even this is not a trash can I pulled away, glancing around my surroundings, hoping no one's watching.
~~~
The atmosphere was silent, except the sound of my ragged breathing, birds chirping in the distance, the trees above me loomed and become farther and smaller, but the danger wasn't present—silent.
I sighed of relief, though I was still agitated, someone might be watching in the distance to lure me with their traps, but still nothing. I grabbed the book with my jaw and fled away back in the thicket running in all fours, preparing to open the book what something inside when I arrive at home, drooling while dashing through the pathway surrounded with forest trees.
I came back at the same shelter we created from a years before coming the big storm, my mother T-Rex greet me from my arrival, alongside with my five juveniles siblings who climbed on their momma's back, they're still small but they still improving their survival instinct. Their reptilian gaze landed on the rectangular shape on my small jaw, five of them with muscular body and scar on the right side of it's head after hunting despite on it's juvenile size, the oldest approach cautiously, it's reptilian gaze staring at the object not on it's sibling, it's nostrils flared in curiosity.
I open my mouth to dropped the object, it landed on the nest. All of them include our mother, her massive feet stretch, let out a loud yawn slip from her massive jaws, shook her head.
It's offsprings chirped, they separated, give some space for their mother to move in and examine the strange object with their massive nostrils, I swallowed nervously, hoping not to reject the book, I believe it was my precious treasure I've ever seen on my life. Then…
My mother sneezed from the dust, snarling, feeling unfamiliar, she eventually pushed it aside with her snout, my eyes widened in disbelief I rushed quickly, picked the book and sat on the bedding, my mother shook her head, amused but she accept it by the way; she knows I was still it's baby for years after it found me as a infant, very nostalgia despite the traumatic experience, especially for the spinosaurus, I was almost become it's meal, I'm glad it never came back to pursue revenge against me, but it passed away from falling in the cliff.
My mother called with a guttural call, her throat rumbling, she bring us a dinner for all, our small tails swishing making our hips rocking in excitement, I placed the book on my bedding before heading towards them, I ate the washed blackberry from my farm outside of our home, I glanced around for a moment, I could see my family eating meat from the other prey, fireflies drifting around the environment, it's glow illuminate the darken environment, reflecting the bushes leaves, cicadas making a buzzing sound in the distance. Other dinosaurs were asleep on their nests, other one curled up, the sound of flowing river water nearby was absolutely soothing.
~~~
Everyone was asleep, except me the one who's asleep late than anyone, my belly was full, satisfied, the lantern light illuminates my face, when I looked up at the book title;
'Survival and Hunting Guide Book' Written by: 'Unknown'
I tried to read, but ended up in missing word. "S-survial… a-d H-huning G-gui…de B-ok." I pouted, crossing my arms around my chest with huff, I'll tried it later for now when I open the book, my eyes lightened, countless words with various sketches filled the pages, I kept exploring every single pages, reading, making every vowel and sounds until It become complete words than earlier attempt.

"Life"
"Survivorship"

Those words kept echoed through my mind, mastering every single words in just one day.
But from now on, the flame was subside inside the lantern, I dozed off, with the book pressed against my small chest, I curled up into tight ball from the bedding, my small tail tucked between my small thighs, the moonlight glow bathed my small face, fireflies still drifting around the environment, their small lights illuminates making a reflection in the flowing river water, cicadas sat in the trunk of the trees, buzzing, the trees fluttering, winds howling, nocturnal animals awaken, hunting for survival against the other living things.
~~~
My mother T-Rex stirred, open one of her reptilian eyes one more time before fluttering shut, dozing back on her slumber with let out a last grunt, then her breathing become slower.
The entire forest was silence, except the sound of the running water in the river.
