Chapter 15:

I'm Not a Monster… II - Bloodlust

Unforgivable Vengeance

I've been cornered by the crowded people, each one holding their different weapon, I eventually fled away from the danger, people called me out behind before pursue after me, I dash and dodging people, afraid to hurt them, I glanced over my shoulder, people was very stubborn to give up, screaming, calling me a monster.

"We're do you think you're going, kid!? You lose my customers because of your stupid smell!" the owner of the cafe and pastries yelled, he gestured to his fellow citizens to chase her. "Follow after her!" he barked, as the citizens raised their weapons and chase after me.

"You Monster! Must be gone!"

"Monster!"

"Monster is real!"

"This girl might've be a future serial killer!"

"Surrender yourself, kiddo. Or even worse consequences you've experienced!"

The words kept reverted through my mind, repeat after repeat the word 'Monster'. My eyes startled, frightened, my back arching,  mimicking a cat defending itself when gets cornered, kept dodging population and the city's light reflect on the building's translucent display, I immediately ran away as fast as I could.

~~~
I reached in the dark alley, I realized it was a dead end— there's no escape from my fate... Will I surrender myself or finding some escape path leads back from the forest. What should I do!?
People drew closer and closer, I let a warning hiss, with a hint of growl rumbling on my small throat, arching my back even higher as I can. They finally arrived, except the exit has been blocked by several people.
One of them immediately pressed the bokken's blade against my tail, letting out a moan in pain, I eventually leaped myself higher from the ground without touching. People's eyes widened in awe and fear, their heads lifted with their mouth leave open as they could see my form from above in slow motion.
~~~

I successfully landed in all fours, retreated from the safest location. People challenging to chase after me, but eventually they give up and left in the dark alley with groan, from now on.

"Oh boy, the monster has been escaped!"

"We better luck next time, when we saw her? We bring her to our mayor about this rare creature we've ever seen! He gives us exchange!"

"Nah, in the wilderness? Where dinosaurs live now? Nah, you guys  trying to kill her for money."

"Of course not! That's not the part of our plan!"

They didn't realized I was hidden in the trash can, holding my breath, hoping they'll couldn't notice my breathing, hearing their murmurs and cursed each their breath, I was escaped from the sake of my safety.

~~~
I emerged myself from the trash bin, wiping the remnants of plastic and rotten banana peels from the top of my head, and moved forward, but I paused for a moment one last time, glancing around before I left in the city, sigh of relief yet exhausted from running.
But my freedom gets shortened, because citizens and the owner of the cafe and pastries arrived behind me.
"We're do you think you're doing now, kid?" the owner sneered, arms crossed with cigarette tucker between his teeth, fumes on the air. Behind him, the group of citizens once again, murmurs spread and become louder through my ears.
"This is end now! Kid."
"There's no escape, kid. Just accept your fate before your life endangered!"
"Monsters like you should be gone for good!"
"Yeah! The city's no longer in trouble without you!"
"You're just a burden, kid!"
"Monster!"
The words kept repeating itself, again and again, nonstop. One of them began to laughed devilishly, the rest followed after him. I spun my head around with eyes suddenly became soulless, the light between my pupils disappeared, my hyperactive was gone, as their voices kept haunting on my mind making my fingers curled and nails digging against my palm.
I lowered my head, staring at the ground beneath me, the appearance of hitting my side of my body for trespassing from the cafe and pastries shop, leaving a deep scratch on my tail, it keeps presence, and again and again, nonstop.
~~~

I clenched my fist between my sides, teeth grinding in exasperation, pupils molding into slits, tears flowing silently on my cheeks, not making a sound.

Keep laughing if you want, I'm not a just a monster. I'm becoming hostile soon enough to kill one of you!

I mumbled under my breath, not enough to hear. Their mocking laughs became silent at my words, the atmosphere became silent, except the sound of their breathing and something predatory. Their eyes immediately shift into horror, withdraw away from my still form.

"W-w-wha did she say…?"

"She's going to kill us!? With her one claw…?"

"No… it could be…"

"She's adapting her Tyrannosaurus side!"

"Run!"

Before they could retreat, I lift my head, slitted eyes glued on to them, my purple to amber eyes gleamed in predatory instinct.

"You picked the wrong person." I said in low pitch tone, I draw myself closer as they stumbled backwards away, I cracked my knuckles making them afraid, my tail swishing behind. "I should end your lives, now." I added with high-pitch sinister giggle escape from my lips. One of the citizens pleading and begging.

"Please have mercy!"

"Don't hurt us, please!"

"I'm sorry! We didn't mean to!"

"Or what? You called me a Monster!" I snarled. "Maybe you should face the consequences of your actions, right now!"

The owner of the cafe and pastries dropped the broom, fall on his knees, sign of the cross, pleading for a sake of his life.

"K-kid, please! I'm begging you! I'm sorry for—"

"Too late." I said simply, without hesitation I lunged forward, mimicking the movements from my mother.

~~~
The sound of crunching and tearing of tissue echoed, the sound of their screams music to my ears as I ended their lives, because they deserve this to punish to pick the wrong person, begging for mercy.
~~~

My hands covered in crimson, satisfied for such a big meal, I patting my full belly with my clawed hand, sat on the ground with pile of leftovers and the scent of copper and slightly sweet lingers on my nostrils.

~~~
After resting, I let out a loud belch one last time before rising myself from my feet, and walked away for my own home, I adapt my predator instinct and my own Tyrannosaurus side, I've slightly become formidable, taking revenge against someone; from my past.
