Reign for the Queen

I stared at the burning horizon, trees falling as the helicopter zoomed from above, living things getting captured and placed in the metallic cage by the hunters, some has been slain, some dragging the corpse of family for purpose, birds fled away, the entire forest now filled with the metallic, stench of human flesh, ash and death. I buried my face on my survived brother's neck, inhaling the last scent of my bloodline. My brother Rex let a weak chirp staring at the several hunters emerging from the thicket, laser beam's dotted on my chest, I'll let a low-pitched snarl, my survived brother still on my arms as the hunters drawing closer and closer, they're formed a circle like a predator cornered it's prey.

I growled, placing my brother behind my form, blocking him between the hunters, kneeled at front of him, whispered to him.

"Go ahead, brother… RUN! Let your sister handle this."

The little Rex let a high-pitch cry, worried about his older sister. I glanced over my shoulder, my eyes wide as one of the hunters stretch his hand to grab him, planing to caught a weak creature for their twisted plans, I yelled and spun around to slammed the hunters away from my brother with my tail, stumbled into ground with my brother on my arms as the hunters raised their guns, laser beam's dotted against my back. I glanced over my shoulder with my eyes slitted, let out a low-pitched snarl escape from my lips, causing them took step backwards away.

Something ancient began to stirred, the power I've never used since childhood, I've inherited from the apex predators, the primal instinct that barely awaken when the one loosing everything— my mother's blood through my veins, my father's loyalty and protection, my siblings playful roars since they're small, all of it eventually collapse into something transformation.

The awakening… the new queen… I was the queen, replaced my parents, adapting.

I turned around, my gaze was now darkened, I placed my brother safely behind the fallen tree, I gave a gentle pat on it's head one last time, command in low pitch tone.

"Stay here, hide yourself before someone trying to caught you."

The little rex whimpered, but he obeyed my command, I gave him a silent nod with a wink, before walked back into clearing, where the hunters still remain silent, raised their guns, observing my action. One of them barked back.

"Surrender yourself, strange creature!"

"No. I will not forgive you what you've had done on my territory!" I fight back, clenching my fist, my fingers wrapped around the staff of my spear, the fossilized blade illuminate at the flaming area, rage pulsed through my veins until my vision began to change color.

My form began to shift; my spine cracked, muscle twisting, my bones reshaped, my teeth sharpened into razor blades, skin hardened and spreading across my form like a scale patches.

My massive form loomed below, where the hunters gaze widened in terror, my fully transformation awakened from the loss of my family Thorn horns glinted from the flame glow, chains rattling when I moved, the core pulsed through my chest. I was no longer a girl who hunt a food for my family, I've become a someone—a towering mass of scales and cold chains; every breath I made making the chains rattling that failed to control my fury. My neck thickened, my eyes turned into black orb with a Q-shaped pupil to see my prey from the shadows and hiding place. The core from my chest pulsating in crimson, casting a shadow against the hunters below. I agape my mouth wider, exposing razor sharp teeth gleamed in the flame glow. letting a thunderous roar reverted, making the the entire burning woods shook.

"RRRRAAAAAWWWRRR!!!"

The little rex watched in awe and fear, he could see his older sister become massive, leaves fell from trees, birds fled away into flight, small creatures hiding on the thick bushes, observing the scene.

The hunters left stunned, their grip on their gun trembled, one of them dropped his gun, another retreat back from the military vehicle, the leader's jaw dropped, stumbled, pale as ash.

"W-What on earth is THAT!?" he screamed, pointing his trembled finger at my massive form, sharp claws like blades.

I stepped on the dark mist, two pairs of Q-shaped pupils glow against the thick fog, I let a low-pitched snarl, my voice was eerie distorted, deep, vibrating.

"You killed my family."

The hunters scattered away, I lunged forward with a thunderous roar.

One of the hunters tripped over om the thick roots from trees, I rushed towards his direction before he could escape.

I pin him down with my reptilian feet, claws digging on the ground making him plead.

"LET ME GO!!" he cried, squirming helplessly against my feet, I leaned my face close, my nostrils flared against his face.

Another one raised his gun— I was faster, I snapped my head at him. His finger around the trigger of the gun trembled, I let the victim go from my feet as I rushed towards the other one, gyrate myself until I unleashed my tail whip, slamming the side of his body until he crashed on the thick trunk of the tree and landed on the damp earth with a sharp gasp.

I approached his weak form, took a slow step forward making the woods trembled in pure rage and frustration watching him trying to crawl away, sobbing and weakened but I lifted him from the ground with my jaws without say a word.

"P-please have mercy! I-I didn't meant to kill your family! Please—! I'm begging you—"

"I'm never forgive you." I said simply, I threw him in the sky, agape my jaw wider as he landed and snapped closed, devoured him whole with no signs of empathy, and mercy.

The war ended, smoke drifted the through the burned trees, hunters crying for their lost comrade, fled away from their vehicles, drove away from the danger.

The forest was silent, except the sound of fading flames, hunters shouting fading in the distance of the men who slaughtered my family.

From the thick mist, I emerged from the dark fog, still on my Tyrannosaurus form, rebirth from vengeance, stepping into the boulder above the fallen trees, I unleashed one final roar.

"RRRROOOOAAAAAWWWRRR!!!!"

It wasn't just a normal roar of victory, the road filled with fury, grief and ability. From the shadows, the creatures emerged from the thicket— Brachiosaurus emerging from the fog, giant pythons winding through trunks, even the living things in the forest approached cautiously, one by one lowered their heads, a sign of submission, found the new rule, I stood in the boulder, chest rising and falling, my purple-amber eyes shining, for the first time in history… I've become the first human-hybrid dinosaur, I've become the Queen of the wilderness. The forest swore loyalty around me, I lowered my head, fist pressed on my chest, whispering under my breath.

"No more family dies!"
"No one would die while I was around…"

My little brother Rex stepped on my side, nuzzling my massive leg, my form began to glow, molding back into small, returning to my normal form as a human hybrid girl. My gaze shift attention towards my brother, placing my clawed hand on his head, I stared at the crowded animals, raising my spear above. The new queen has been chosen, the new reign has begin.
