Chapter 783:

Angry Mimoko

En Passant Grandmaster

Mimoko scowled in dismay as she finished reviewing Okisato's game. She naturally had complaints about it, but what made her hold her tongue was the fact that Okisato had suggested the game review solely to remove focus from Yuusuke.

"Tanabe-kun, you're directing everything at yourself... You really do have a strong mind on and off the board," she thought.

"Lol, Oki-kun beat two milfs with the same opening," Iori snickered.

"It surprises me not, sadly," Utami sighed.

"We all know you'd play the same-"

"I would not, unless... I'm against Madman Duras himself. The limiters all come off against him."

"Oh, that's good. He'll be joining us shortly and be happy to see those skills in action against him," Okisato nodded.

"... I... think I shall indulge myself in the puzzles, maybe attempt one of the tournaments they exclusively hold here," Utami nervously smiled before scurrying away as fast as she could.

"I'm gonna farm more points. If Xiu's telling the truth, it sounds like her maestro might fail the jobber tourney, leaving me without a maestro to wreck," Iori grinned.

"I doubt Xiao Lin would lose to Shousen-san, even if she is a jobber," Okisato frowned.

"Still, I'd rather get the easy win instead of having to face a maestro Xiu."

"You'd still have to beat her to get the chance-"

"She said she'd be going easy on her challenges just to make it easier for us to wreck her maestro."

"Oh, then want me to rematch as many as I can so you're able to challenge them all? This would help you too, Inoue-senpai."

Mimoko shook her head. "No, I want to seek them out the proper way. It's one thing if I encounter them as an opponent or by chance, but if I have the option, I want to try finding them the normal way."

"OK, respect, but I like the shortcuts. Bring your girl some goodies!" Iori grinned.

"Any ones you've already beaten?" Okisato nodded.

"Hmm... think I beat one already. Oh, also beat some other SPCMs too. But they have OP maestros... We sticking with the jobber maestro route today."

"Then would you like a reward for your bravery, oh dear challenger?" Xiu snickered as she waltzed up. "My challenge is affordable and easy. Just a little fog of war chess. Oh, and you may play with your feet."

"FUCKING- Wait, can't record in here... Fuck... Eh, I'll play normally."

And thus, the two headed over to a table to begin the challenge.

"I see you beat Hagemi, that means you have information to share, yes?" Peter asked as he arrived.

"Yes. We'll talk in a more private area towards the back," Okisato nodded.

Now alone, Mimoko anxiously tapped her finger against the table.

"Mimoko? Why the long face? Upset your team didn't win?" Daria asked as she waltzed over.

"Okaa-chan... No, it's Yuusuke-kun."

"Ah, I'm afraid there you're powerless to do a thing there, and sadly, I can't really tell you much about it aside from basics," Daria frowned.

"I overheard Shousen-chan speaking with Tanabe-kun about it. I didn't mean to, but now I know stuff I probably shouldn't have been told."

Daria's gaze narrowed as she sat down across from Mimoko. "What exactly did you hear?"

Mimoko gave a quick scan of the room before telling Daria of all that she heard.

"So you just know about Bon, then. That being said, he is a prominent member of the Jobberslayer League. But like Okisato said, you shouldn't tell Yuusuke about this."

"Why can't I?"

"Because he's not mentally strong enough to take it. However, I know you're not the type to just take things like this quietly. So, I'll arrange to get you tickets to the event."

"They have tickets for it?"

"Yes, it's not some secret event, rather, it's a public spectacle."

Mimoko began to clench her fist. "That sounds crueler than what some of the Desperados do. Okaa-chan, get me those tickets; I'm going to train Yuusuke-kun, then take down that league myself!"
