Chapter 33:
Unforgivable Vengeance
I leaped myself from my brother's back, landed on the ground, my gaze narrowed, focused from the distance, the scent of copper and metal lingers in the air, my brother growled, I shift my attention to him, patting his snout, soothing his anger away before shift back towards the hunters, I've realized; I made a huge mistake—Hiku and her team was not my enemy, they're desperately to help me to figured out. The sound of heavy machines echoed around the woods as the ground still trembled from explosion.
I let a sharp gasp as we sprinted ahead towards the source, leaped myself from the ground and landed on my brother's back, the fossilized spear still on my grip, my brother's footsteps grew heavy and makes the earth trembled under the echo of heavy machines, my instinct scream for danger and intruders, something is wrong, not definitely welcome.
Animals scattered and fled away, between my sides, smoke rose through the pathway, my brother ran faster until he saw a glimpse of light from nowhere.
We emerged from the clearing, my blood become pale, eyes wide in horror, I've realized I was late; one of my territory has been destroyed.
"Not again…" I mumbled, lips trembled, my knuckles turns white against the staff of my spear, other hand running through my hair. "They ruined the beauty of nature... no, no, no, no, no! They're not getting away from this…! I-I have to stop them before it's too late—!"
"You're not supposed to do that alone!"
My sharp pointy ears perked up at the voice, glanced over my shoulder, my brother shift his attention from the clearing. As the four figures, no, they're not four— someone break my coils free from them.
Hiku emerged first, her armor gleamed, bathed from the moonlight, her etervictus blade illuminate from the darkness behind her, smirked, crossed her arms.
"Not until we're here."
"She's right. You don't have to do this alone, unless—someone needs some help." a soft voice followed, Sylvia emerged beside her girlfriend, long dark-blue skirt flowing behind her, her crystalized pendant rest on her chest pulsating in twinkle pink. "You need help, our villain?"
My lips trembled, I leaped from my brother's back and landed on the ground to face them, I thought I was expecting they're furious at me, judging me or taking revenge what I've had done to them because I tied them up in the trunk, prevent them from followed back after me.
"I-I… you guys followed after me?! But I was a bad person! A monster! Stay away from me before I hurt anyone else!"
"Kyou-san, please! That's not we… you're not a monster, we see you just a lost child."
"A lost child?!" I repeated, let a bittersweet laugh. "Do you think you called me a lost child?! I have a family—!" I argued, my pupils slitted from anger, gritting my teeth.
"But that's not we've thinking!" Sylvia fight back, feel concern instead of irritated. "We've respect your family's death from the ambush, that's not our fault! Kyou-san, please… listen to us, we don't have to fight you… we're just trying to help you to maintain your anger before you've hurt someone! Please… join us—"
"No! I don't want to join on your stupid group!"
"We're not lying, please…" another voice followed, this time begging, Rosetta emerge from the shadows, stood beside Hiku with her fingerless gloves clasped together in front of her armored chest, her mint-green eyes says the proof. "We're telling the truth."
"Ro is right." another voice responded, Violet emerged, standing beside her girlfriend, the handle of her warhammer rest on her left shoulder, pulsating in purple hue, her translucent visor activated. "You're not alone, Kyou. We're here by your side."
I stared at them for a while, I felt something strange through my veins… a glimmer of hope I guess, my gaze softened, lowered as I faced the ground instead of their face, tears flowing silently, my frustration melting, almost I turned into a vulnerable person.
"I-I…" I stammered, fingers fidgeting from nervous. Hiku approached, placed her gauntlet hand on my shoulder, her long blue hair billowing from the wind, responded.
"It's okay if you don't want to explain us, we respect your space."
"R-Really…?" I mumble, sobbing, slowly lift my head to face her. "I-I was wrong… I-I though you were… disguised."
"Kyou-san, we're not pretending, we're serious because principal call us desperately to find you." Sylvia commented, stood between Violet and Rosetta, her axolotl frills flutter slightly.
"Why me…? Why?"
"Because… from years ago, you've killed the citizens from the dark alley because they called you a monster, then you assassinated the hunters now with your brother, but you realized they already know your footprints, they going to find you, or worse… they going to execute you in front of everyone!" Hiku explained, her voice was serious, alongside the buzzing sound of cicadas echoed through the woods.
My eyes widened in disbelief and realization, my lips trembled, breathing shuttering. "I…I…I didn't meant to kill anyone… I was struggled to maintain my emotions and rage. That's my nature now."
"Kyou-san, we know you're now a apex predator, but you've still have to be careful or even more worse! They going to find you!" Violet responded, her warhammer sat on the ground beside her.
But then, a sound of clapping hands interrupt our conversation, Hiku's gaze narrowed, now serious, immediately shield me out with her armored body. She glance over her shoulder.
"Kyou-san, stay behind us!"
I nodded silently, Sylvia, Violet and Rosetta shift their position in small circle around me, resembled as shield, their gaze fixed at the intruder. Rosetta shift her staff into a rose bow, glance over her shoulder if she's observe my form if neither alright or not.
As the sound of clapping become closer, the sound of heavy machine reverted, my brother let a low-pitched snarl, lowered his head behind us, defending his older sister from the intruder.
"Stay close everyone!" Hiku shouted, her gloved fingers gripped against the hilt of her etervictus blade, pulsating in Azure.
A tall man older than his fifties, wearing an expensive suit, but now torn apart from his half-transformed, slowly emerged from the shadows, marching straight towards our direction with a smirk playing on his lips, combing his mustache.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here, a drama between the vulnerable Queen and her heroic friends has came to have conversation without me, how rude."
"Who are you!?" Hiku hissed, Bakeneko ears flattened, instinct kicked in to defend her friends.
"Who? Me!? I was searching from someone."
"Who's someone you say!?"
"Introduced yourself first, or we're going to arrest you!"
He stopped, standing straight in front of them. I stared at him with my gaze darkened, I recognize his scent and appearance through my mind, my pupils slitted, let a low-pitched snarl, baring my shark teeth. A tall man, half-transformed beast introduced himself, his reptilian eyes landed between Hiku and her team, and me.
"My name is General Naoryuu. I'm the contractor and now the owner of this place, it's all nice to meet you."
What?! No way! This place belonged to me! Nobody else! Except me!
"You—!" I roared, pushed them away from myself and escaped from the circle, holding my spear as I charged forward. "YOU KILLED MY FAMILY!!"
"Wha—?!!"
"KYOU!!!" Hiku and her team shouted in warning. I increased my speed, before General Naoryuu could back away.
"Girls, we have to stop her!"
"Rosetta! Transformed your staff into your rose whip to encased her!" Violet demanded.
"On it!"
The war between my estranged father and his daughter, Hiku and her team attempting to discontinued my revenge against him and the hunters who killed my family and my territory without mercy.
