Chapter 36:

The Untold Lies

The Creature Hunter: Soul Of The Wind

The dungeon where Orano and Caitrin went was the dungeon of the castle "Iphigenia".

"Iphigenia Castle" was known as the largest and most magnificent castle in Ellesmere and Emperal. It is known for its magnificent design, brilliantly shining lights, and a community that visits regularly. Apart from the usually important meetings in this castle, there would be parties held when the Earls were bored and the distribution of supplies to the people.

Another feature of Iphigenia Castle was its huge dungeon located under the castle. And even if this place was built to hold more dangerous criminals, even innocent people would be kept here because of the selfish nature of the Earls.

And at that time, Orano and Caitrin were held on the second floor which was the floor that usually contained mid-level danger criminals.

It had been almost six hours since they were thrown into the dungeon and there was no news either no explanation. They were both just sitting and waiting.

Desperate and frustrated, as she waited for what was going to happen, Caitrin began to talk,

She sighed and said sarcastically,

"Can't we just get in trouble for once?"

Orano slowly got up and examined the cell while talking,

"Because we "attacked" people there, we were thrown into a second-degree dungeon. And for something like this, we are even considered moderately guilty."

Caitrin slightly smiled and said,

"You don't have to think that way actually. After all, your goal was to help people, and you did. I could have stopped you there for that, but I didn't. So it's not entirely your fault, I'm also guilty for this too."

"It was mostly my fault that we ended up here. But right now, we're not going to waste any time thinking about it. If we do, we will be just talking to ourselves for nothing." Orano replied as he stood up.

Caitrin then said once again sarcastically,

"You're right. I don't want to stay here either."

While she was about to get up too, she thought to herself,

*Again, we were in this situation because of something I wanted. Maybe if we hadn't waited to sell the necklace, we wouldn't have ended up in a dungeon. After all, whatever I try to do, I fail.*

She then looked up and said,

*But right now I can't worry about those, I have to find a way out.*

But when she got up and looked around, she saw the young man earlier coming towards them. And after a couple of seconds after her, Orano realized him too and started staring at him.

The young man approached the cells and said,

"Mr. Natsuki wants to talk with you in his office. Please don't resist and follow me."

He then opened the cell and unlocked Caitrin's locks.

Caitrin said nervously and excited,

"Hey! Wait! Why are you- Hey!"

But he didn't listen to her. He just held the chains in her handcuffs and pulled her.

And as Caitrin turned around to look at Orano with a desperate expression, Orano looked back at her. But he looked sure by what he was doing. He looked at her like she had a plan. So Caitrin looked in front of her and didn't look back again.

And after she left there, Orano turned around and sat down.

Now he was left alone this time.

There was nothing he could do. But even though in a situation like that, he didn't go crazy. He just thought for minutes about what he needed to do.

And just as he was about to dove into his thoughts, this time the girl came to the cells and approached Orano. And it was the same girl they saw in the morning.

She looked at him and said,

"Now that we've checked the items on your clothes, we know that your name is "Orano Tatsumi." And since you're a creature hunter, it makes sense for you to come here."

She had a serious expression on her face and her voice tone was formal.

Orano crossed his arms and said,

"It's a nice thing to get called by your first name. But the problem is I don't know who you are or the person stopped us this morning, or who was that Earl."

He then looked at her eyes and added,

"Do you have an explanation for that?"

She sighed and said,

"I'm Lydia Shimizu. I've been the Earl's bodyguard for almost a year. And the Earl you saw in the morning was Mr. Natsuki Shigeru himself. He rules Ellesmere and he is one of the most known person among kingdoms. And finally, the person who is bodyguarding him with me is Runo. He is a dedicated person in his job, so that is why he stopped you like that."

She then added,

"I'm sorry, Mr. Tatsumi, but attacking the Earl there was not the right move. That's why you chose to be thrown into this dungeon."

Orano said,

"So my punishment here is already decided."

"It is correct that it is decided for you to be sent here, but you are not sentenced to death or anything. And before the Earl makes any big decisions for you, I want to talk to you about something."

As she said that, her voice tone changed into a normal one and her expression got much serious. The expression on her face didn't look like she was annoyed or something. Rather than that, She looked at him with desperate eyes and looked like she wanted answers.

Tatsumi knew that something was up, so he replied with a serious voice tone and looked into her eyes,

"I'm listening."

"You attacked Mr. Natsuki when you knew he was going to get you in trouble. I just want to know why did you do that?"

Orano looked down at the floor, closed his eyes, and said,

"It doesn't matter which people it is, nobody needs rulers who look at their people like slaves and don't understand their condition. And if this person, punishes his people for no reason, does not offer them the right rights to live and if he doesn't even know how to empathize, then he doesn't deserve to be a leader. So as long as there's a person like that in front of me, I can't just let them go past me."

After his words, She bowed down her head and said,

"I understand."

Then she took out a napkin from her pocket and said,

"Please take this. It would be a good use to you."

Orano took the napkin confused and looked at it for a couple of seconds. Why did she gave a thing like that to him? He was confused, so he said,

"Why would I need this?"

"It is very dusty here. So if you sneeze please use that."

While Orano looked at that for a couple of seconds, she turned her back to him and said,

"By the way I forgot to tell you."

As Orano looked at her, she started talking,

"Mr. Nuzuki put you in prison so that the people would not doubt him. Or otherwise, he planned to have you executed directly.

And if he had also done something like that, bad information could have gone to the Royal Society and they could have decided something for him. It's forbidden to even speak bad about them, That's why there's not much bad information about the Earls here in the kingdoms outside."

Then she looked at him and added,

"Maybe the move you made was ridiculous, but it's the best and safest option right now. All we can do now is not let Mr. Natsuki make a bad decision for you, Mr. Tatsumi."

When she told those to him, Tatsumi said to himself,

*Execution? Information to Royal Society?*

He looked at her and said,

"You are literally telling me the secrets of the person you serve. Why are you doing this?"

She didn't answer his question. She just brushed it off with,

"I will be back later, Mr. Tatsumi. Please don't try to leave your cell."

Then she slowly walked and left there. She didn't look back or said anything in addition, she just walked through the corridor.

And while she was walking away Orano looked at the napkin and thought to himself,

*She has knowledge of such a situation but does nothing. She is either scared or under an order. But in both ways, the situation is very different from reality. She's hiding something else behind this.*

He then opened the napkin and the thing he saw surprised him very much.

There was a key and a note close to it that said,

-Your equipment is at the end of the corridor, in the fifth room on the left.-
