Chapter 4:
Genville
Warrior: "What is 'rape'?"
Other woman: "When you take a woman by force."
Warrior: "Force is against a threat. You did not threaten me."
The warrior turns toward the exit.
After a few steps, several security guards rush in and immediately open fire. The warrior dives to the side and lets his knives fly.
All the guards are hit and fall down.
The warrior pushes off the ground...
...twists in midair so that his legs are up...
...and lands in a split position with each foot in the metal ring of a chandelier.
While he hangs head down close to the ceiling, in the background two people from the group lie dead in their chairs with bullet holes in their heads, while the rest of the group has anxiously taken cover. The alcoholic is still hanging on the counter and says, "Man, he’s fast, man."
Another group of guards storms into the room.
As their eyes search around, flying knives are seen.
One guard tries with a horrified face to raise her weapon...
...but all are hit immediately.
The warrior lets himself drop from the ceiling...
...and lands on the floor.
He races across the tables to the dead guards...
...to pick up his knives.
The warrior approaches the trembling bartender.
To the left sits the alcoholic, to the right stands the trembling bartender as the warrior reaches the counter and asks, "Is there another exit?"
The trembling bartender: "P... p... p... please don’t h... h... hurt me."
The warrior smiling: "Why would I?"
Alcoholic: "Because the guy ratted you out to the guards."
Warrior to the bartender: "Are you with the guards?"
Bartender screams fearfully, "No!" as he stumbles backward into the bottle rack.
A bottle falls on his head and knocks him unconscious.
Warrior smiling at the alcoholic: "He doesn’t seem very threatening to me."
Alcoholic: "He’s a sneaky rat."
Warrior laughing: "Rats are tasty, not sneaky."
Alcoholic with a disgusted face: "Ugh, you don’t just stink like a pig, you probably eat like one too."
Warrior laughing: "I’m not sure if pigs eat rats."
Alcoholic: "Are you never offended?"
Warrior: "What is ‘offended’?"
Alcoholic: "When someone makes you look bad in front of others, so you don’t get a woman and no sex."
Warrior thoughtfully: "I am who I am. No one can make that bad. I’ve never had sex. But it seems important to humans. So I can distract their thoughts and they don’t notice what I really want."
Alcoholic: "And that’s why you always laugh like a dumb idiot?"
Warrior: "Laughter frees the mind. Those warriors who couldn’t laugh died first."
Alcoholic, visibly shocked: "You... you are a warrior?!"
Alcoholic, sweating and stressed: "Damn, I guess I’m lucky to still be alive."
Warrior, pointing to the dead from the group: "Yes, the guards shot in your direction, and these two got hit."
Alcoholic: "No, I mean, warriors only kill for fun."
Warrior: "Killing makes sense. But only if I’m threatened."
Alcoholic, breathing a sigh of relief: "So you’re not as bad as they always say?" Second bubble: "At least I don’t want to be your enemy."
Warrior: "But these guards are probably one group in this war of everyone against everyone. They kill all the others."
Alcoholic: "No, they’re supposed to protect us and prevent a general wild slaughter."
Warrior: "So they ensure an orderly slaughter."
Warrior: "Anyway, they want to kill me. So they are enemies." Second bubble: "Do you know another exit?"
Alcoholic: "There, next to the billiard tables, is a door. Then go up to the roof and jump to the next building."
The warrior walks along the counter toward the billiard tables, where some players watch him expectantly.
As he passes the players, a burly-looking man with an upside-down cue approaches from behind.
With a face twisted in anger and the cue fully drawn back for a strike, he moves toward the warrior.
The warrior’s head jerks around. Only the movement of the head is visible.
In front is the warrior’s chest. His head is twisted 180 degrees on his body. The man freezes mid-attack, wearing a completely stunned expression.
Feigning harmlessness with a distorted smile, the man walks to the cue rack...
...where he places the cue with the thick end up, thus upside down. The warrior’s head follows him like the turret of a tank. Man: "I think I’ve played enough for today."
The warrior’s head turns toward the remaining players, who look visibly startled by the attention.
Player: "I’ve had enough too." Another: "Way too hot anyway." Another: "I’m thirsty."
All the players put their cues in the rack.
The warrior’s head snaps around and fixes on the door.
His hand grabs the handle and pushes it down.
The door won’t open.
