Chapter 5:

Chapter 5

Genville

Supporting himself with the other arm against the wall, he tears the door from its frame, splintering the doorframe.

He throws himself to the ground and first inspects one side...

...then the other side of the hallway behind.

He slips into the hallway...

...but stops behind the door jamb and listens into the bar.

The alcoholic on the communicator: "Hello security, I sent the man with the knives up to the roof. You can shoot him there. Do I get a reward for that?"

The warrior looks at the door in the hallway that leads to the street.

With a few steps, he reaches the door...

...and looks out through the glass panel.

On the other side of the street stand guards.

The warrior walks back down the hallway and notices a ten-year-old boy descending the stairs.

When the boy is a little further down and sees the warrior, he is a bit startled.

Then he says coolly, "Hey bum, looking for sex?"

Warrior: "Yes, how do you know that?"

Boy, acting wise: "I just know things like that."

Warrior smiling: "But you don’t seem like a woman to me."

Boy mockingly: "Aha, so the gentleman isn’t a faggot."

Warrior, not knowing what a faggot is: "Faggot?"

Boy condescendingly: "Now don’t be offended, bum. I’ll take you to my mother."

As they go upstairs, the boy leading, the warrior asks: "Do you think your mother wants to have sex with me?"

Boy: "She has sex with anyone who slips her something."

Warrior: "Yeah, I slip something during sex."

Boy: "I don’t mean like that, you halfwit. You give her coal, mice, cash."

Warrior, not knowing what the boy means: "She needs coal to make fire. Mice to eat. But what’s cash?"

Boy: "How can you even climb stairs if you only have three brain cells?"

Warrior: "Not knowing one situation doesn’t mean you don’t know all situations."

Boy, puzzled: "Huh?"

They arrive at an apartment door.

Warrior: "If you face a new situation that reminds you of nothing, then you’re dumb. If the new situation reminds you of one you know, then you know what to do and are intelligent. The more situations you have stored, the smarter you are."

Boy, a bit annoyed because he didn’t understand what the warrior meant: "Don’t annoy me! We’re here."

The apartment door is now open. The boy stands in the shabby living room. The TV is on. The warrior is on the doorstep. Boy, pointing toward a doorway covered by a curtain: "Ma, company."

The scantily clad mother steps out from behind the curtain. Mother with an approving look: "A horny little buck you’re dragging in."

She reaches out her hand toward the warrior, who now stands in the middle of the living room, and says: "Then slide the mice over."

Warrior regretfully: "I didn’t have time to catch any."

Boy: "You know, Ma, he’s one of the funny kind."

The mother, turning away and already half hidden behind the curtain, says: "If that’s the case, I’ve got a proposal for you, little buck." Second bubble: "Kiss my ass!"

The mother disappears behind the curtain while the TV broadcasts the following: "The sex monster has already raped and killed seven women."

The boy and the warrior look at the TV. The mother curiously sticks her head through the curtain. On the TV screen is the warrior’s face with the sum “50,000 C.” TV announcer: "There is a 50,000 credits reward on his head."

Frozen with fear, the boy stares at the warrior.

The mother enters the living room and says to the warrior with a mix of fear and contempt: "Looks like it’s my turn now."

Now the mother stands in the foreground, so the warrior is seen from the front. Behind the warrior, the boy sneaks toward the curtain door. Warrior to the mother: "The guards want to kill me. They’re making me the sex monster so the others will help them."

The boy slips behind the curtain. Mother: "And why do they want to kill you?"

Warrior: "I don’t know. Many have wanted to kill me, but I never really understood why."

The boy is in the bedroom and whispers into the communicator: "Hello security, the sex monster is here."

Mother: "You’re not exactly bright, are you?" Second bubble: "At least I don’t have to be afraid anymore."

Warrior, close-up face: "Yes, you do."

Mother, close-up shocked face: "?!"

Warrior: "If the guards find me here, they’ll shoot wildly. You could die in the crossfire."

Warrior, walking toward the window: "It’s better if I leave now."

The apartment door is kicked open.

Shots smash through the window.

The warrior lies on the floor behind the sofa while two knives fly toward two guards.

The guards are hit.

The guards lie dead on the floor. The mother presses herself into a corner with a panicked face. The boy looks out from behind the curtain.

The warrior jumps over the sofa...

...and picks up his knives.

He stands up and looks at the mother, frozen with fear. Warrior: "It’s better if I leave now."

He walks to the window while behind him the boy sneaks toward the dead guards. The boy doesn’t notice that the warrior is watching him.

Warrior: "Maybe this way I’ll reach my goal sooner."
