Chapter 10:

Promised Day Pt.1

My Time At Yggdrasil Academy: That Time I Became The Headmaster and Slew the Legendary Nidhogg

Simon chuckled to himself observing the grey humanoid before him. Nidhogg returned the glance snickering as he did.

“What do you want with a corpse anyway?” Simon shouted swinging Escanor into the cobblestone flinging the pavement like buckshot.

“Oh, the thing you’ll be when I’m finished with you!” Nidhogg coldly snapped throwing an effortless punch behind his head. A small trickle of blood followed. As if an arrow had glanced past Simon’s face.

“That’s my line asshole!” With a smirk Simon responded, swinging his ax in an upward arc. Connecting against the soft underside of Nidhogg’s arm. The humanoid twitched and spasmed before a crater opened underneath him. “The hell!??” Simon questioned before suddenly a strong right hook connected against his cheek and threw him to the ground. His face slammed into the pavement cracking the cobblestone and sending rocks and pebbles scattering.

“Stay down!” Nidhogg commanded squatting down to Simon’s level. He tilted his head and examined Simon.
“Expect the unexpected!”

A large bestial bear-like paw collided against the side of Nidhogg’s head. Sending the draken humanoid staggering and sliding backward. There stood Kin’emon atop a massive chained, clothed, and fuming angry grizzly. The grizzly bear wore a shredded and torn yukata. It stood on its hind legs and roared, frothing mist-like breath flew into the air. Its eyes glazed red with what could only be described as hatred causing its eyes to glow pure red.

“Simon-dono!” He called

“I’m fine bastard merely punched me!” Simon said standing up leaning against his ax.

“Now that’s new!” Nidhogg’s body twisted and turned; flipping upside down and right-side up. “You must be one of The Emperor’s experiments!” Nidhogg laughed for a second before stopping and taking on a dreadful expression. “But enough pleasantries…c’mon lambs time for the slaughter.” The draken man’s voice remained flat and unemotive. Punching the ground a cavalcade of stones and debris shot up from the ground. The stones shot off and around like a myriad of arrows. All the while the thick dust hid the dragon’s movements. More and more stones fired off, volley after volley. Simon swung his ax with calculated abandon. Slicing through them and or sending them back to their sender. All the while he stepped ever closer. A slice here left foot moves, Slice there, right foot moves.  among the slices in the briefest of seconds stones would fly in. breaking past his guard and stabbing into his flesh like ancient arrows used by ancestors long since forgotten.

It continued in an ever-continuing cycle for what felt like hours. Finally, it happened, Simon was close, mere meters away. Swinging his ax he brought it down with both of his hands. It slammed into the grey humanoid’s chest. Pinning it to the ground. It screamed and fought, kicking and punching.

“Are you scared?” Simon laughed. “How come? Afraid of the life after death?”

There was no reply to Simon’s goading. The dragon remained silent.

FULGRIUES: KAMINARI!!!! Simon shouted. Holding out a hand a bolt of lightning struck him. Burying itself in Simon’s arm. In a split second, he snapped his arm forward and a white bolt of lightning shot from Simon’s fingers. It shot connected with the Dragon’s body. It screamed and squirmed before falling limp. Simon sighed and stood up with a dejected look.

“That’s it….what a waste of a perfectly good Wyvern” Simon shook his head lighting a cigarette turning his back and walking away. “Well, Se--” before he could finish his sentence a bolt of lightning shot through his chest. Kin watched as Simon toppled over, before forcing himself to stand weakly.

“Emperor always said humanity was foolish….but I would’ve never guessed they were outright moronic,” The dragon said holding up one finger to Kin. All the while a cheeky side smirk glazed his lips. “I’ll play with you later failed experiment”

Nidhogg slowly stalked forwards, his body radiating a certain magical malignancy. As if every breath he was breathing was nothing more than refined compressed miasmata. Its body shambling forward in a haunting straight line. Each step booming with an aura of thunderous predatorial intent. To the Dragon, this was nothing more than an average hunt and Simon was his prey.

“Darling protect our son….create a world where he can smile” the voice of Simon’s wife played in his head. Raising his ax Simon prepared for what was to come with a grin.

“Don’t worry hon….our boy is in good hands” Dropping Escanor the ax disappeared into thin air. Simon crossed his arms and two rather small axes appeared in his hands. He raised his arms and a shockwave shook the air. If the surrounding buildings weren’t collapsed before they most certainly were now. It blew apart the stillness of the night, clouds that blotted the sky were blown away. The moon came out from hiding only to cast light on the struggle of man v. beast.
AXIUS:SOUL CRUSHING: KING YEMMA! Simon took the first move, rushing in wildly all the while with a calculated finesse and grace. As the axes collided against Nidhogg’s flesh. The ground below Nidhogg was blown apart. Shattering and scattering like leaves in the wind. Axes struck fist, blocking, deflecting and all matter of striking happened between the two. When Nidhogg would punch Simon would counter with a dual swing. When Simon would swing in the bllink of an eye Nidhogg would punch the axes away. Simon huffed his body lurching forward a steamy frothy breath escaping his mouth.

“C’mon lets play some moe Dreadnought!” Simon crossed his arms and took a beastial wild stance with his axes.

“Fool! Akazaru manjabza!!” Nidhogg spoke shaking his head. “What is your name struggler?”

“Why would I tell my name to a dead man?!”

“You’ll soon regret those words” With lightning speed it brought its leg to the sky and quickly brought it down. Connecting a gash opened and erased the the sediment as if there was nothing in existence before. Arms raised and crossed and Axes equipped. Simon worked his hardest to block the kick. However he just wasn’t strong enough. Nidhogg’s leg gliding through his flesh. His blood spraying into the air. Painting the ground with his blood. His arm lay discarded still fervently clutching his ax.

“That the best you can do?” Simon laughed. He titled his head and a demonic visage of a smile grew on his face. His cheeks pulled back and his teeth stained with his blood shined in the pale light of the moon. His eyes bloodshot and wild focused solely on the four armed humanoid before him. The Hunter was now the hunted

AXIUS: INATE SKILL: BLOOD-STARVED WARLORD!!

“Oh this era keeps getting more interes-” Catching the dragon in the mouth with a kick, he sent it sputtering and staggering. Purple ichor dripped from Nidhogg’s mouth as Simon’s assault continued. AXIUS: KING YEMMA’S COMMAND!!!! Knocking the ax against his leg. Not as gentle as a bump but not as fierce as a bash. He simply struck his calf with his ax. What followed next was two fold: a quiet soft reverberating chime like that of a small bell. Rung through the air. It seemed to hang in the air like a foul stench gripping at one’s nostrils.

Suddenly a deep purple aura gathered around Nidhogg. Being forced to keel, the dragon fought tooth and nail staggering, pushing himself to stand despite the crushing force. The ground cratered and broke apart. Splintering, stuttering before ultimately the pebbles caught in the attack were made non-existent.
“Eh!! Not so tough now are ye?” Simon gloated dropping King Yemma. With a snap of his fingers, a sinister deadly chill infested the area like death himself had come to visit. A large cracked, rocky, crystalline, and dark-colored vile ax appeared in his hand. The handle or pole made of semi-translucent yet semi-opaque moving wispy purple gunk. The blade. Curved forward like a crescent moon, where there should have been another half to complete the ax there was nothing but a scar where the blade shattered. With a glare, Simon stepped forward unperturbed. Simon’s muscles bulged and contorted writhing under his skin. SKILL 25% TRIBUTE! Simon took hold of the demonic ax before him all the while a bloody smile beamed across his lips.

AXIUS: DEVIL’S AXE: ADAM!!!!
