Chapter 4:

The Strongest Quirk

My Hero Academia: Gura Gura no Mi

On the rooftop of a high-rise, a warm spring breeze blew past, carrying the fresh scent of greenery.

Yuto, All Might, and Ochaco stepped out into it.

All Might glanced toward Ochaco with a meaningful look.

Yuto immediately understood what he meant and smiled. "Uraraka-chan, wait for me by the stairs. I need to talk to him about something."

Ochaco glanced at All Might warily and said unhappily, "Be careful, Yuu-kun. Just looking at him, I can tell he's suspicious."

Then she walked down toward the stairwell.

All Might spat out a mouthful of blood. He was the Symbol of Peace. How was he suspicious?

"What do you want from me?" Yuto asked directly.

"I saw your potential," All Might said. "What's your Quirk? It's incredibly strong. If you want to enter U.A., I can recommend you for admission."

All Might's eyes shone as if he had found treasure.

U.A. High School was the dream of aspiring heroes across Japan. All Might believed Yuto would not refuse.

"I'll think about it. Thank you," Yuto said.

All Might was surprised. Yuto had actually turned him down. He continued, "Do you know who I'm?"

All Might wasn't in his hero form, so most people might not recognize him. But Yuto remembered the story, so of course he knew. He smiled faintly and said, "You're All Might, the Symbol of Peace."

All Might took several steps back, staring at Yuto in shock. "Who are you? Not many people know about this form."

"Relax. I'm not a bad guy. Otherwise, I wouldn't have saved you just now. With your current condition, if you forced another transformation, your body might break down completely."

All Might coughed up blood again. Yuto was right, but the hero still wanted to guide him and asked again despite himself.

"Are you really not joining U.A.? Your Quirk is incredibly strong, maybe even stronger than my own power. You're an unpolished gem. You need the right guidance."

"I'll consider it."

"Uh... then how about I give you an autograph? Will you join U.A.?"

"I don't need your autograph."

"Ah! I'm All Might, the Symbol of Peace, the No. 1 Hero!"

"Mm. I know. I don't need it."

All Might completely lost his composure. If Yuto had not shown such a powerful Quirk and endless potential, he would never have pestered him like this.

He knew he had to bring Yuto to U.A. If the boy ever became an enemy, the situation would be disastrous.

But Yuto's calm left him at a loss. It was like nothing could shake him.

"If you ever change your mind, contact me anytime," All Might said at last.

"I'll go to U.A.," Yuto said. "But I'll take the entrance exam myself. I don't need special treatment. If U.A. can really help me improve, then I'll see for myself."

Ochaco would be taking the U.A. exam too, and Yuto wanted to be there with her.

"It will!" All Might said excitedly.

He knew Yuto's talent very well. There was a real chance the boy could become a new Symbol of Peace.

He also knew that he did not have much time left. The world needed a new generation of heroes.

Yuto's talent was obvious. He was exactly the kind of student U.A. needed.

After the conversation ended, All Might kept pestering Yuto like an insurance salesman, without any of the presence of the Symbol of Peace or the No. 1 Hero.

Ochaco snorted. "Who is this old guy anyway? Why does he keep bothering you, Yuu-kun?"

"Ha!" Yuto laughed. "An insurance salesman."

All Might felt his heart ache. Since when had he started sounding like an insurance salesman? He felt a little embarrassed, but he still followed Yuto closely.

Yuto was helpless. Was this really the Symbol of Peace, the No. 1 Hero?

Why was he so shameless, refusing to leave him alone?

In the end, Yuto promised that he would take the U.A. exam.

Only then did All Might let out a long breath. He reminded Yuto again and again to take the U.A. exam before reluctantly leaving.

After All Might finally left, Yuto faced another problem.

That night, in his room, Ochaco sat across from him, cheeks flushed with excitement. "Um... Yuu-kun... what exactly is your Quirk? Why did you become so strong? Can you teach me?"

"It's late. Can we do this tomorrow?" Yuto asked with a bitter expression.

"Tonight! You're so amazing. If you guide me, I'll get into U.A. High School!"

"Uraraka-chan, it's really late..."

"Please teach me! I want to become a Pro Hero and make more money!"

By then, it was already midnight, and Ochaco was still in Yuto's room, determined to train.

At the same time, inside an office at U.A. High School, a messy-haired man with a stubbly face lay curled inside a yellow sleeping bag like a cocoon, only his head sticking out.

The tired-looking man was Shota Aizawa, a U.A. High School teacher and a capable Pro Hero.

All Might had just returned to the office. When he saw Aizawa, he coughed up blood in shock. "What are you doing here?"

Aizawa stared with tired, lifeless eyes and said coldly, "Sleeping. Also, you caused trouble again, All Might."

All Might and Aizawa could not have been more different. Normally, they barely interacted and rarely exchanged more than a few words.

As the Symbol of Peace, All Might often faced the media. Aizawa was very strong, but he hated the media and rarely appeared in front of them.

Their personalities clashed, so they did not get along well.

But today, All Might had discovered Yuto, so he was in a very good mood. "Aizawa, I found a student with incredible potential. Maybe even more talented than me."

A flicker of surprise crossed Aizawa's face.

Although he did not like All Might, he recognized the Symbol of Peace's strength.

Someone more talented than All Might? What kind of monster was that? His interest sharpened.

Aizawa's tired eyes narrowed. "Is that so? But if I decide he has no hope, I'll still give up on him without hesitation. I hope your judgment isn't wrong, All Might.

"Letting someone chase an impossible dream for nothing is the cruelest thing there is."

"So that's your version of kindness, Aizawa? As expected, I really don't get along with you."

All Might stood there awkwardly. He knew Aizawa was not joking. If Yuto failed to meet his standards, the teacher would give up on him without hesitation.

After all, the previous year, Aizawa had expelled an entire first-year class.

But this time, the person Aizawa would face was Yuto. Thinking of the boy, All Might smiled despite himself.
