Chapter 18:

The Blazer Behind the Curtain

That month of yearning

The first thing I noticed was the row of blazers, all lined up like they were waiting to judge me. I could see Saya going over them one by one, inspecting each of them carefully. She took one up in her hands, then looked over to me from head to toe, then went back to the blazer and gave either a satisfied smile or a genuine smirk. I was about to interrupt her once as I wanted to know what she was thinking, but I didn't want to interfere in her "fun" times.

"This one would look good on you. Can you try it out?" Saya said.

I took the blazer from her hands, straightened it up, and gave it a pat. It was a nice and warm looking blazer in black with a neckline shape. It seemed to suit my style, but I didn't have quite a preference as far as clothes go. But looking over at Saya, who was excitedly waiting for me to try it out made me reconsider.

"You really think I can rock that?" I questioned her.

"Yeah? I have full confidence on you." She said innocently.

"Oh, sure. Let me try it out then." I was sure she was being honest there, which made me feel giddy inside as I took a turn towards the trial room.

I went into the trial room and wore the blazer after removing the school-issued one, which was rather bulky but still kept me warm. After trying it out, I gave a slight twirl to see the backside in the mirror. "Looks good, I guess" was my thought.

During my switch back to the original blazer, I saw Saya slide the curtain of the trial room open.

"Hmm? Sorry! I didn't knew you were in the middle of changing. Here's a blouse you can try out with it." She covered her eyes, and quickly closed the curtain.

"You could have come inside and help me wear it, you know? Why are you getting shy anyway? We used to bathe together when we were kids" I teased her slightly.

"This and that is different! Just quickly change." I could feel her burning heat through the light fabric of the curtain that separated us. Why does she get shy over her actions, but when it comes to words she is the most courageous?

"Sure, give me a minute."

I rewore the dress that Saya had selected for me, which complemented the blazer. Stepping out, I could see Saya looking over and smiling at her good fashion sense.

"Looks like you can make it as a fashion designer!"

"This much is normal. It's your fashion sense that is wacky, Natsuki" Ouch. That hit me dead center.

"OK. This looks good, let me just quickly buy it out." Rare were the chances when I can have some good clothes in my closet, courtesy to the all knowing dress up Saya.

"Actually, you don't need to. I already paid for it. Consider it a gift from me" she said, gently smiling. Always two steps ahead this girl.

"You never cease to amaze me, girl. So, where to next?"
