Svetlana Smirnova, age 19. Height: 165 cm. Occupation: College student. Favorite chess piece: The rook. Born with the blood of Russian royalty, Svetlana's never felt like she was a royal due to how cruelly she'd be treated by her father, Tsar Grigori. To be fair, Grigori didn't become tsar until she was 16, but even then, he was still using her for experimenting with the DESPER.

She prefers to wield a sledgehammer as she feels it symbolizes her desire to break free of control, akin to smashing a wall with a sledgehammer. She also dresses stylishly, pairing any and all things with her all-black Mizuse Niimi brand sneakers. Her dream is to become a model, but with how things are, she's unsure if that will ever come true.

As for her hatred of Okisato, it stems from the fact that not only did he off some of her Desperado comrades, but by becoming a headache for the Desperado League, it means Grigori will get more rigorous with her training and put more curfews on her in order to prevent her from playing and losing to Okisato in a DESPER match. Thus, Svetlana's orders are to never directly challenge Okisato to a DESPER match as Grigori has grand plans for her.
