Chapter 4:

A Loss

Soul masters

The time had finally come, there they stood in front of each other. On one side was Master Richard with the power to recreate any weapon he saw in his life (with mana restrictions) and on the other was Shiro who was recently granted immense power by the Ruler and Sustainer of heavens Ain.

“So you really came, I thought you would back down”

“Heh, be ready to be defeated. I am not who I used to be”

Shiro first started off by going into his soul form and Richard doing the same as well. They were the two shining stars in the charcoal black sky; One was as bright as the sun while the other was as cold as the moon itself. The three humans turned into spears with two hovering behind their master while their lord held Izaya in hand. Shiro imbued Izaya with a mana protection layer along with decreasing his body weight using gravitational magic to achieve great speeds. He then leapt; in less than a second, he was 600 meters forward with the spear pointing towards the weapon master. Shiro had already crossed the sound barrier, achieving speeds of up to 750 kilometres per hour by decreasing gravity to zero. Even though he was this fast Richard easily dodges the attack. Being so fast, stopping was not easy so the new god hit a building in the distance and completely shattered it.

“What are you, a beast” yells Shiro

He then moved forward, again decreasing his weight to zero. This time, however, he controlled Nagisa and Rui; ordered Rui using the brain connection to gather mana and fire a blast from above, while Nagisa attacked from one side and Shiro from the other. Rui followed the orders and Nagisa did the same. Now the armament master was cornered, he was busy stopping a blast from above, fighting Nagisa from the right and then Shiro came on the left and hit Richard, increasing Izaya’s weight to two hundred thousand kilos. This was enough to break Richard’s impenetrable barrier.

Even the munitions lord was amazed at how much Shiro has grown in such a short amount of time.

“Did you really think this was the full extent of the barrier? I guess you did, your inexperience misleads you… NEVER underestimate your opponent- Overconfidence kills'' Richard exclaimed with a grin on his face.

He then held out his hands open and jumped on the roof of a building, while in the air a blue force field appeared around him making the air so dense Shiro couldn't breathe properly, He gasped for air, while the rooftop beneath Richard started to crumble. He jumped off the building and spiralled towards Shiro with his head faced down, Shiro dodged Richard by switching his weight and hit a building nearby, on impact Richard created a huge explosion and smoke rose when it cleared Richard stood on a huge crater, looking toward the deep sky with his emotionless eyes. Shiro now saw the true power of weapon master Richard.

“What do you think of my real power? That was only the fraction of the power I mustered”

Shiro now saw the difference between them, his legs crumbled and he fell down, exhausted from the fight, before he could hit the ground Richard was standing next to him with his hand on his chest supporting him. You think I will let go of you so easily. Richard kicks on the chest of fallen Shiro along with holding Shiro’s hair, not letting him go. Then he punches his face five consecutive times and lets go of his hair. He then watches the new sustainer of the heavens fall onto the ground in despair as his confidence and hopes had been crushed.

Shiro heard Richard as he slowly started to blackout. Richard after staring at Shiro for several minutes thinking about how he could possibly defeat Aerial as he was too weak to defeat Aerial and all of his army. Richard gathered mana onto his feet and jumped on a fountain top. He again glared at the moon and the stars that lightened the whole sky, he managed a smile, he then stepped again and leftover the horizon, looking down on how destroyed the park was. This time Shiro was conscious and well aware of the fact that he lost. This was nothing new to him but he felt frustrated, aggrieved, and angry.

“DAMMIT, only if I had trained harder if only I had worked more I would have won” The spears tried to comfort him, but he declined their help saying it was not their fault, but he was responsible, and one day he will get Richard back for this.

But there was nothing he could do now.

His chance to win a powerful ally was already up. In his current state, he could not defeat Aerial and her twelve Generals.
