Chapter 2:
Minotaur mission
Somewhere in Greece, there's a donut shop... A donut shop, with a problem...
The staffer on duty lit up as the bell on the door rang. "Finally, a customer... Hmm, Gorana?"
The woman that had entered let out a heavy sigh. Clad in a a black leather suit, jacket, and platform sneakers, and rocking a clean-shaven head and dark shades, the woman certainly exuded auras of coolness. However, despite her mad drip, she was a slave.
"Why'd I get called over? I was trying to enjoy myself by the beach," Gorana snarled.
"You were lounging by the beach in leather!?" the staffer gasped.
Gorana pulled down her shades, revealing a browless, and lashless state along with a pair of bloodshot green eyes. "There a problem with me lounging like this? It's not like I'd want men to lay eyes on me after what's been done to me."
A malevolent smile lit up on the staffer's face as she stared at Gorana. "Ah, but we had to for science, and look at what it's done, got us an entire race of monsters at our command.
Gorana scowled as she rubbed the delta tattoo engrained on the back of her head. "I hate you all for this."
"Oh I'm sure, but business comes first. Did you hear the news?"
"No."
"Seems there's a minotaur loose."
"Oh, and you think I can stop it after having all my powers stolen!?"
"You're more durable than a human, so it's better you take on the beast than us. Oh, and maybe it would understand you-"
"If I didn't have this damn "chip" implanted in my head, I wouldn't obey you," Gorana snarled as she found herself heading out the door.
Hopping on her motorcycle, Gorana rode off.
"Sending the coordinates to you now. This guy's on the move, so be prepared to go fast," the staffer's voice giggled as the motorcycle sprouted wings.
"Don't take me to the sun again," Gorana groaned.
"Ah, afraid the ozone layer won't protect your pretty skin?"
"Yes, but I also hate height-"
"Time to go!"
And with that, the motorcycle blasted off into the sky. Internally, Gorana was terrified, but she kept a straight face.
...
Miny roared as he tried to get inside the tank.
"Why hole in block so small? Me can't make bigger... ROOOOAAAARRRRR!"
"Well, this might be easy," a voice scoffed.
Miny turned to see a bald woman strutting towards him.
Sniff! Sniff!
"You... You gorgon?"
"Yes, got a little haircut, which I hate, by the way. Now, you know what'll happen if I lift these shades, don't you?" Gorana growled as she held her hand to her sunglasses.
Miny exhaled a large puff of steam from his nostrils. If he wasn't halfway stuck inside the tank, he might've run off or tried to fight, but now that he was stuck, he was vulnerable... if he didn't see through the bluff.
Gorana was indeed a gorgon. A gorgon who had decided to step out of her cave one day to be met with modern human society. She attempted to blend in, but after turning someone to stone, and transforming her hair into snakes, she was quickly outted and captured. In captivity, she was subjected to brutal experimentation by Dr. Deda Los, an unhinged woman who ran a failing donut shop in her spare time.
As a result, Gorana had undergone both an eye transplant and had all her hair shaved off. Her eyes ended up being transplanted into a human, who promptly turned to stone upon seeing her reflection in the mirror. This met Gorana was now able to see herself in the mirror without turning into stone, but well, she wasn't exactly fond of her smooth do. It also meant she couldn't turn anyone to stone.
Sweat ran down Gorana's face as she stared down Miny. "Just need to keep him placated long enough for the calvary to arrive. Then they can fuck him up like they did to me, and that's that. Not like I'm fond of humans doing that to monsterkin, but I don't exactly vibe with a rampaging minotaur. Why did he even start causing a ruckus anyway?" she thought.
Suddenly, Miny closed his eyes and raised his fists into the air before slamming them down as hard as he could on the tank. A shockwave burst forth as the roof collapsed, allowing Miny to finally gain access to the tank.
Gorana nervously began to retreat as the tank began moving sporadically. "This isn't good.
The tank slowly began lurching forward, but suddenly stopped and reversed.
"ROAR! THIS THING NOT WORK!" Miny roared as he violently shifted the levers back and forth.
Snap!
"Oh... it come off..."
Gorana's eyes bulged as one of the tank's control levers flew out into the sky like a rocket. "That... looked like something important."
Suddenly, the tank began speeding down the road.
"Yep, it's bad."
"Hey, egghead! What's the status?" Deda's voice crackled.
"He's got a tank, and he's torn the top off it along with a control lever."
"... Then just drop something on him from above."
"Huh!?"
"Here, I'll send over a warhead via a drone. Just keep the bull from moving and we're good."
"What about me?"
"... We'll test your durability."
"ARE YOU-"
"You know that microchip in your head is actually packed with more explosives than the warhead I'm sending over."
"I hate you."
And so, Gorana prepared herself as she hopped on her motorcycle and took to the skies. While the tank remained mostly stationary, things were being tossed out of it like crazy, meaning that there was a chance the drone could be hit before it got in position, meaning things could go very badly for the town as it was a genuine warhead the drone was transporting.
From her lab, Deda giddily flew the drone over the city. "I can't wait to see if this guy's built like a cockroach," she squealed as she saw the tank in her sights.
But just then, the tank turret turned directly towards the drone.
"Uh, what's he-"
BOOM!
Deda nervously blinked as the camera feed cut out. and the ground began to shake. "Uh oh... Time to flee the country," she nervously laughed.
...
At the scene, Gorana stared up at the sky with an annoyed look on her face. Though the drone had been hit by artillery fire, the warhead it was carrying had been flung out and landed right inside the tank. But as the massive fireball began to dissipate, out stepped an enraged minotaur, unharmed.
"Just lovely, he tanked it."
