Chapter 25:
WRZ
"Come on, Popo. Calm down! I'm not trying to hurt you!"
"Yaaap! Yaaaaaaap!"
What a sight to see. Popo was in a strapper, and Tasyah, using her big glasses, looked like a freaking mad scientist doing... what I can describe as surgery on Popo. She was very... peculiar. I had never seen Tasyah so crazy about discovering new things like this. Was she always like this?
Seiza translated Popo, "Please... Raiza! I'm just a little... doogie. You can't be doing this to me! Aren't you feel bad for... Seise?"
Tasyah gave a thumbs up to Seiza and said, "Great job, Seiza. Keep translating what Popo said! We need more evidence to strengthen our hypothesis!"
Seiza covered her face with her arms and said, "Popo even called me a different name."
Harold calmed Seiza down, "He called us names, Seiza. Don't be ashamed."
"I'm not ashamed, man! I'm embarrassed!"
... Aren't those the same?
I felt crammed in this RV, so I suggested, "Hey, eh... I need some fresh air. Felt like a tight space up in here, the RV. I let you two research Popo. Come on, Harold, Wiwin!"
Tasyah waved without looking at me, while Seiza said, "Yeah. That sounds like a good idea."
Popo looked at me and screamed, "YAAAAAPPP!"
Seiza translated it, "DEEEZ! Don't leave me here!"
Tasyah replied, "No, no! Popo needs to stay! Aunty Tasyah has things to do with you for a second."
As I closed the door, Popo screamed again, "NEEEEEEEEY!"
I felt bad for Popo, but it was the best for all of us. As Tasyah came to understand the new implications of these powers, it would benefit us to fight other heroes when we encounter them.
"I felt bad for Popo. Should we really be doing this?" Wiwin asked.
I answered, "It would be the best for all of us. Tasyah will gain more understanding of Slimefy, and we would be more prepared when we encounter people with that power."
Harold backed me up, "Zeed is right, Wiwin. We need more understanding of this power that we couldn't have... actually scratch that! The power that we didn't need to have."
Harold felt tremble when he said that. I understood why. He was scared.
I tried to calm him down, "Hey... eh... Let us three walk around. We have never been to this city. Might as well learn a thing or two about it, right?"
Wiwin grabbed each of her hands and said, "Yeah, we need a refresher. Let's take a walk."
...
We walked for a bit... Actually, we walked for hours. We didn't realize it, but we walked until the sun fell. We met the locals in that city. A couple of them actually. They were all very welcoming. One of them even helped me and Tasyah lift our ban from BetaAlpha.
"Hey, you guys can crash in for a day, if you want to", that was Kevin. He was a humble guy. He is a mechanist who also loves writing. He said that he has released a book about "fixing your own private jet". I didn't know if that was real, but that was awesome if he did.
"Yeah, we welcome anyone in here!" And that was Manaresia. She wanted us to call her Rasia, though. She is a... freelance nurse? I had no idea what that meant. Didn't a nurse need a license or some sort? You can't just nurse someone without permission, right? I wasn't a judge, but I was pretty sure that sounded illegal.
"Thanks, guys. I appreciate the offer, but we have more people on our RV... and we can't exactly leave them be", I replied.
"It's quite alright. We understand", Kevin smiled and gave me a thumbs up.
"Yeah, it was just an offer. We aren't insistent", Rasia added to Kevin's statement.
Harold responded, "We're still going to meet you more. We need to stock gas anyway."
Wiwin added, "Yeah, and fresh ingredients."
I let them talk it out. I moved on to see others in this place. We are currently in some sort of hangout place. I had never had this experience before. It felt... refreshing to some degree. I even drank coffee for the first time. If I knew coffee was this refreshing, I should've drunk this when I was at the apartment. Those sleepless nights could be beaten just with a cup!
"Hey, Zeed!" That was Kevin.
"Yeah? What is it, Kevin?"
"Ehm... I heard about you from Wiwin and Harold... and I wanted to talk about it with Rasia."
About me? About being a detective?
"Yeah, what do you guys want to talk about?"
He looked around. He looked up and stared at the sky for quite a while. After that, he... nodded?
"I want to tell you about this, but it's better to talk about it with your other friends."
"Oh... Did Wiwin and Harold talk about Tasyah and Seiza?"
"Ah, those are your other two friends' names. Yeah, they did."
... I had a suspicion that Kevin and Rasia had something to do with the hero's business. He was acting so suspiciously right now.
"... You're acting suspicious, Kevin. What is it?"
He didn't say a thing, and then I felt a hard chop delivered into my head. I turned around... no one was there. Then Kevin covered my mouth with something.
"From now on, you will tell the truth."
I released form his grasp and backed off, "What the heck was your problem, Kevin?"
"Sorry. I had to do it."
"Did you do it to Harold and Wiwin too?"
"Again. I'm sorry."
Tell him the truth? What did that even mean? I didn't feel anything when he covered my mouth.
"What did you cover me with before?"
"Some of Rasia's powder."
... What?
"No wait! I mean her... what should I imply about Rasia's power?"
"Power? She's a hero?"
"Born! Born a hero, but we never do a hero's duty. We just want to live in peace."
"... Vigilante?"
"Kind of. Yeah."
Oh, this was a messy start to a relationship, and I didn't like it for one bit.
Rasia suddenly came and greeted us, "Yo! We need to group up right now. Harold and Wiwin said they want to rest."
I cut her off, "Hey, wait! Didn't I ask you, Kevin?! You answered Rasia's Powder? What did you mean by that?"
Rasia heard that and blushed. She turned to Kevin and slapped him, "Just call it meds, you idiot! We have talked about this multiple times!"
I cut them again, "Wait! Rasia uses Polyorginate?"
Rasia and Kevin looked at each other in confusion. Kevin asked, "A Poly what now?"
"Polyorginate! A power to turn any plant into herbs and medicines."
"Hey, would you look at that! There is a name for your power", Kevin said.
"Well, technically, that's Tasyah's doing. I don't really know if that was the official name."
We continued the conversation while also walking to our RV, bringing along Kevin and Rasia.
