Chapter 26:

A Place We Called Home

WRZ

"So... they are locals here?" Tasyah asked.
"Yeah, pretty much", I answered.

We were finally at our RV. Our rapid session of introduction was skipped because Tasyah wanted to continue her research on Popo.

Kevin was disappointed, and Rasia was scared.

Kevin said, "She's... a kid?"
Tasyah answered with anger, "I'm thirty-two, you punk-ass looking guy! Want me to shoot you with a taser?"

Kevin turned from disappointed to scared and hid behind me. He asked, "Has she always been like this?"
"Yup... Minus the cures."
Tasyah answered, "He is a stranger. I have always been like this with strangers... What are you looking at, Scardy Scarlet?"

Rasia joined Kevin and hid behind me. Am I a human shield or something? Why were they so keen on me?

Wiwin tried to calm Tasyah down, "Oh, come on, Tasyah! These are our guests; we should be welcoming them."
"Oh, yeah? Then why do they keep their power a secret?"

Kevin answered, "Well, to be honest, we have been keeping it a secret from the city."
Rasia continued, "We revealed it now because I thought you all could help us. I mean, hearing a group is against the hero's business is rare in our town. We were so happy when you five decided to stop by our city."

We exchanged looks with each other. Seiza opened with a question, "Then why are you two poisoning our friends? Are you supposed to gain trust with us?"

Kevin and Rasia came out of hiding and told a little about their backstory.

Let me summarize.
They were also survivors of World Dawn. Their parents gave birth to them just after the World Dawn. This meant that they were both in their twenties. I didn't even know this, but they are twins. They kept a low profile in the city because they were escapees. They were supposed to be their parents' "low ones". I had no idea what that meant, so I let that pass for now.

"You're one of those, huh?" Tasyah responded to Kevin and Rasia's stories.
Kevin answered, "One of what?"
"They called it Runaway. I knew some people who had that stuck to their name. They rebelled against their parents to represent the parents. They didn't want to get attached to wars, so they escaped to find peace."

Kevin and Rasia looked at each other. They looked down and sighed.

I cheered them up, "Hey, at least you guys finally have that peace, right?"
Kevin said, "Somewhat."
"Some... what?"
"You didn't think that we were safe a hundred percent from heroes, right?"

I stopped and thought about it. He was right. I didn't think about the hero who was patrolling the sky.

Tasyah interrupted my thought process, "I think we're done with Popo."
"YAP??!!"
Seiza was about to translate it, but Tasyah immediately said, "No need to translate that. I understand this one. You're good to go, Popo."

Popo was released and jumped into Seiza in a quick session. Seiza and Popo were happy. It was a good vibe all around...

"Hey, is that a poop dog? Why does it look so black?"

Seiza was furious when Kevin said that. She was angry and said, "Hey! Save that filthy mouth from my Popo! How dare you call him poop!"
In an instant, Popo turned into a big head without any eyes and a big mouth in the middle of his face, "ROOOOOAAAR."

It was enough to make both Kevin and Rasia faint.

Seiza calmed Popo, "Wow, wow! Calm down, boy! You don't need to be angry on my behalf."
He turned back, "Yaaaap."
"... Did you just call Kevin, Marvin, and Rasia, Sena?"
Tasyah teased, "That would be what you called them when you didn't turn, I guess", while smiling.

Harold was on the other side of the RV, so I screamed a little bit, "YO, Harold! Need a bit of lifting in here. Two of our guests fainted."

He came without words. He lifted them and put them on the bed.

Seiza said, "I should get going too. I'll sleep outside with Popo."
I asked, "Wait! Are you okay with that?"
"Don't worry! I can just train Popo to turn into a camp or sleeping bag."

When she said that, I imagined her inside Popo's stomach. That was a nasty thought. I wish I wasn't thinking about that.

Tasyah woke me up from my imagination. She asked me, "Hey, stop thinking too hard and answer my question."
Hearing that, Wiwin also went ahead to bed, "Hmm... I guess I need to go too. See you guys in the morning."

She went to the hard couch and slept there. I saw Harold sleeping on the driver's seat.

"What is it, Tasyah?"
"Based on their description, Kevin inherited Schizophie and Rasia inherited Polyorginate."
"Wait, how did you know...?"
"Kevin looked up in the sky, but nothing was there, you said. That was clearly his invisible friend."

... I thought I was the only one who had the ability of a detective. Clearly not.

"Now, I need an answer. What did you do when you 'walked' around the town? Clearly, they approach you with some intention to 'work' with us."

... What is this? Since when did I...?

"Don't think about it too hard. You're specialized in heroes' business. I understand that you were lacking in human interaction deduction. It's alright, Zeed. I got your back."

... That sounded like a roast, Tasyah.

"I was just talking about what we will do after recovering some stuff here. We didn't have a goal or anything. I mean, this was all too sudden, right?"
"Anything else? Like, maybe you were talking about Hexes or Jordan, maybe."
"Nothing. I'm serious."

When we were talking, we were surprised by a voice that came from the bed.

"We were just suspicious of people coming to our town", Kevin answered, "I mean, come on now. This is Bodjonglopang. I don't think any sane tourist would ever come to this place."

I was about to say something, but Tasyah was ahead of me, "You woke up by your pal?"
"I heard what name you gave to my power. Sounded cool."
"We need to talk more about this matter. You two up for a sleepless night today?"
