The catgirl that would go to the moon

February 8th, 2025...

"So anyone want to go to the moon?" Harumi asked.

"Eh, not really. Why do you ask?" Madoka asked.

"I want to have some people play chess on the moon for a video I'll release on International Chess Day. I thought I'd ask you first."

"Isn't it still February?"

"Well, I plan to upload the video on International Chess Day. Filming's a whole different beast."

"Ah, I get it. Hmm... Why not ask a more popular streamer?"

"I already had someone in mind. It's just I want her to have an opponent who could play at her level."

...

"...So that's the gist of it," Emeri shrugged as she sat alongside Mimoko at the secret puzzle cafe in Tokyo.

"Leona-chan... She's about... 1000 to 1600 level, yes?" Mimoko asked.

"Rating's officially 1016 as of today."

"Hmm, Carol-chan might be a bit too difficult for her then, ah, but I actually do know someone who could work..."

...

"Nya? You want me to star in a video!?" Nyoan gasped.

"Yes, you're reformed now, right?" Mimoko smiled.

"Nyess... After Kuon-sama got locked away, I decided to seal my DESPER to reduce my jail time, nya. I only ever used it to please Kuon-sama, but now that she's locked away, and hates me... I have no use for it, nya," Nyoan frowned.

"Then do you want to be in the video?"

"Nya... It's in space... I hate space, nya. I got trapped there once, nya."

"We'll make sure you don't get stranded. And if you do agree to do it, we could help launch your Ewetube career," Emeri nodded.

"Hmm... Do I get fish, nya?"

"Yes."

Nyoan's stomach grumbled. "Nya, I nyeed the money, nya. One more trip to space, then no more, nya."

"Perfect. We'll get everything ready for you and Leona."

"Leona, nya?"

"You remember her from Streama Festivalen?"

"Uh, I think, nya."

"Eh, she's pretty easy to get along with."

"I hope so, nya."
