The god of darkness

The steam coming out of my mouth as I breath the mundane air of the meat and blood that was below me was sickening, when did I get used to this type of situation? I honestly don’t remember.

I took my sword out and jumped from the creature’s body right into the ground. It took me seconds to reach the floor and make a bubble of air that prevented me from hitting myself and becoming a bad imitation of mashed potatoes.

I took a step and stopped as I saw the floor, rocks moving, the ground shaking and voices that were approaching. I prepared for the inevitable and saw how in all directions a horde of ghouls were running towards the building.

They wanted to feed from the monster I defeated, not a chance of that happening. If I wanted to keep things clean, I put my hand up and a red magic circle appeared.

“Oh, dear lord of the flames, if you still alive in this trashy world hear my command and burn my enemies with the embers of your realm, don’t let anyone alive and make them ash for the wind to blow”

A heatwave came out of my hands, I looked at the ghouls that were in front of me being hit by the heatwave, they all stopped and in a matter of seconds, a festival started as I walked out of the scene.

Lights were on in a 20km radius, the temperature raised too, and behind me a smokescreen made with ashes was made. While I was on my way to my base, I didn’t find anything worth annihilating. The moment I opened the door I removed my helmet and started to throw pieces of my armor across the room as I went to the bathroom.

“How was the hunting?”

The fairy spoke, my companion, Shina, put herself on my shoulder as she started to rub them.

“Just cure me already, I don’t have time to chit chat with you”

I entered the bathtub full of water.

“And I prepare you the bath, besides casting my magic to heal so deep wounds takes time, Azura”

I sighed as I looked at the water being clean for all the blood and dirt I accumulated.

“You’ve been out for more than 48 hours, aren’t you tired?”

“I’m fine, I haven’t felt tired in more than 4 years”

“You say that but I know the true of your body and your mind”

Shina flew to my head and sat there, rolling my long hair with a smile.

“Sleep, I’ll do the rest”

“I thought you wanted to talk”

“Heh, did I make you want to talk? I am a great listener too, you know?”

“I’m sleeping”

Two hours passed and I opened my eyes jumping from the bath, Shina wasn’t with me anymore so I rushed to the door and shouted.

“Shina!”

“Hmm? Ah! Put something down!”

“Don’t try to act shy, you already saw all of me”

“I don’t get used to, just put something”

I rolled my eyes and put my underwear on, going with Shina who was with the armor.

“Did you repair it?”

“You bet”

Shina was smiling while hitting her chest and flying around.

I went to the table that was in the middle of the room and took a map out along with a lot of drawings of district creatures.

“You are almost done, only two creatures more and you will defeat every single one spotted”

“Yeah, one more trip and everything should be done”

Shina put herself on my sight of the map, pointing at me.

“Is that why you came later this time? You are pushing yourself too hard?”

“And who would do the rest if I don’t do it?”

“That doesn’t mean you need to push yourself more than you already do”

“What do you want me to do then? Close myself here?”

“I didn’t say that, just that you should rest more”

“Forget it, Shina, just prepare my stuff, I’m going out now”

“Okay…”

I sighed as I looked at the creatures on the draws.

Just a bit more and all of this will end, 4 years…

I put my armor on, I went to the other room where Shinas was touching the edge of my sword, I took it and put it at the side of my belt, taking another belt with knives and going out to the wilds again.

I touched the ground and started to make a symbol. Once I finished, I pitched my finger with the edge of one of my knives and made the drops of blood touch the symbol, making it shine. I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, I was in a stormy place.

I slid with the water on the floor, this was an old kingdom where I used to play with my friends, my hometown. I bit my lip as I continued and found a dark creature near a fountain shaking.

The creature had big white eyes and a mouth that was opened, he seemed like a drawn that exit the paper, it had this perpetual look as if he was drooling, but then it saw me, disappearing in that instant just to hear the sound of the wind kicking and the creature in front of me, piercing through my armor and punching me, sending my flying to a castle.

I cough and put my hand in my abdomen, groaning as I try to stand up and look where the creature was. I hear footsteps approaching, and I put a magic circle in front of me but before I could recite my spell, the creature punched it and destroyed it, punching the helmet and crushing it as I tripped.

I drew my sword and pierce the creature but my sword went across its body, dealing no damage to it.

“So that’s the trick!”

I cast a minor spell on my sword, making it glow and the creature started to hold its head while it tried to take my sword out, I held his head, having my hand glowing as well.

“You must be the avatar of darkness; I knew but I wanted to confirm it first”

I took my sword out and I opened my mouth, dropping saliva over my sword. When it reached the edge, I started to draw a circle in the creature as I kept holding it with my hand.

The creature was unable to scream, but it was not harmless. Its tantrum was like a little child hitting me in various parts of my body, I could hear how some of them made a crunchy sound.

As I finished the glyph there was only one thing left to do, one dot I let the creature go and finished the glyph, adding it to its body and I put my hands together as I sat on my knees.

“God from above the sky, hear my command and strike this creature back where it came, to the darkest place that you send the sinners that once struck the earth as if it happened again, eradicate it to oblivion!”

The creature started to float in the air as its body shook, its whole body started to crack and light came out of those parts, exploding in the air, making the place bright for a second. I blinked a few times before I could recover my sight, and there was nothing left.

I sighed and sat on the floor, looking at my wounds and the armor.

Not even Shina is going to be able to repair it… and there’s still one left, I guess I would need to manage with it

As I turn back to draw another circle, I heard the sound of a whale

A whale? No, we are far away from the ocean…

I looked up as it started to get darker, a giant figure similar to a whale started to descend, it had the figure and sound of one but it didn’t look like one, its whole body was like a cloud and its eyes were yellow.

Did I not finish with the avatar…

I looked back where the avatar was and it started to form itself back, I clutched my teeth and I tried to draw the circle again but it was too late, the dark creature held my head and threw me against the floor.

I try to get up but there were hands holding me, I couldn’t move at all, I look at every part and think in any spell but it was useless, before I could do anything, I see the sky right in front of me, passing near the gain whale as I hit one of the castle windows, falling on the table of a library.

I move my head, the rest of my body didn’t respond, the more force I put the weaker I felt, until I lost consciousness, leaving my body at the hands of luck
