The footsteps faded away.

The couple on the grass did not stop.

A long while passed.

The woman, lost in the kiss, suddenly felt him pull away. She opened her eyes in confusion and saw a handsome face above her, wearing a smile that was not quite a smile.

She was embarrassed and a little flushed, but she still gave him a bright smile.

"Can you get off me first?"

Damon chuckled, rolled aside, and lay down next to her.

The woman sat up and straightened her clothes and hair. After confirming the men in black had left the park, she turned to Damon.

"Thank you for helping me. I'm Helena. You?"

"Damon Keller."

"You're very good at that."

"You're not the first person to say so, and you won't be the last."

Damon turned onto his side, propped his head on one hand, and set his other hand lightly on her leg.

"Not much room to work here. Want to change locations and continue?"

Helena looked down at his hand, then smiled as if amused.

"You want to sleep with me? I'm afraid you might not dare."

She lifted her chin.

"I'm Helena Bertinelli. My father is Frank Bertinelli, the head of one of Starling City's most notorious crime families. Still want to sleep with me? Not afraid he'll kill you and dump you in the harbor?"

"Why would I be afraid? I'm not planning to date you. Hit it and run. Very exciting."

Damon grinned.

"You're really not afraid?"

"Want to test that?"

Seeing Damon's eager look, Helena burst out laughing.

"Not today. I finally shook them off because I need to go to Central City. I can give you my number. If you really aren't afraid, call me anytime."

Damon slapped his thigh and laughed.

"Now that is convenient. I wanted to go to Central City too."

"Do you actually want to go to Central City, or are you just afraid of missing your chance?" Helena asked, half suspicious after her surprise.

"Both."

"Fine. I'll get the car. Wait for me by the road."

"All right."

They separated, and Damon walked to the curb.

A little over ten minutes later, a sports car stopped in front of him. The door opened, and Helena leaned over to call him in.

Damon got in.

The engine roared.

The sports car shot forward.

Damon was not sure how far Starling City was from Central City, but since Helena had chosen this time to go, she was probably confident they could return before dark.

Helena Bertinelli was, in a way, a prodigy at ruining her father's life.

She was the daughter of a mob boss, yet she specialized in opposing him. At first, she only collected evidence so she could report him. Later, she simply became the Huntress and tried several times to bring her father down herself. Only after Frank died in a shootout did that journey finally end.

She briefly joined Team Arrow and the Bat-family, and she even wore the Batgirl mantle for a while. Unfortunately, she was ruthless, and she did not share the no-killing standard, so a clash in ideals eventually drove her back into the Huntress identity.

Later, she joined the Justice League and learned to control her temper and her cruelty. Batman still removed her on the grounds that the League did not need assassins.

You will not let me play with you?

Fine. I will find my own people to play with.

She formed a small organization with Black Canary Laurel Lance and Barbara Gordon, who had become Oracle after being paralyzed.

The Birds of Prey.

In time, that little group grew larger and wilder. Catwoman, Katana, and Poison Ivy had all joined it at one point or another.

Of course, right now Helena was only at the beginning of her father-ruining phase.

Barbara Gordon had not been paralyzed.

Laurel Lance had only just begun training.

And now there was Helena in front of him.

"Feels like I'm about to unlock the Birds of Prey," Damon said with a laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" Helena asked, glancing toward him.

"What are you going to Central City for?"

Damon smiled and shook his head.

"I had something custom-made," Helena said casually. "What about you? What are you going to do?"

"Find someone to custom-make something."

Helena rolled her eyes.

"The place I'm going is not convenient for company. If you really aren't afraid of dying, you have two hours after I pick up my things."

"Good."

Damon smiled.

Once they entered Central City, Helena stopped the car in front of a fairly upscale hotel.

"Get out here. I'll come back for you in half an hour."

Damon nodded simply and got out.

On the way in, he had seen that S.T.A.R. Labs was not far from here.

He watched Helena drive away, then strolled lazily toward the lab.

The particle accelerator explosion had not happened yet.

S.T.A.R. Labs had not shut down either.

The moment Damon reached the entrance, security stopped him.

"I'm sorry, sir. What business do you have here?"

"I'm looking for Cisco Ramon," Damon said with a smile.

"May I have your name?"

The guard asked while preparing to contact someone, but at that moment, the doors opened and two people walked out.

A man and a woman.

The woman had long, curled hair, a bright smile, and a refined, gentle manner.

The man was shorter, with darker skin and shoulder-length hair.

The future Vibe, Cisco Ramon.

And the future Killer Frost, Caitlin Snow.
