The police did not believe Frank.
Unfortunately, they had no evidence to explain the lightning, and they could not find Anthony Venza. Most importantly, Venza's men all supported Frank's version of events.
In the end, the matter was ruled a natural incident and quietly dropped.
Of course, some people guessed the lightning was connected to Damon.
A.R.G.U.S., which had suspended direct conflict with him, was one of them.
After the previous incident, A.R.G.U.S. had temporarily stopped contacting Damon. Perhaps Laurel had made them feel observation was the better approach. After all, aside from the unpleasant beginning, Damon was genuinely providing Laurel with valuable resources.
The costume Laurel wore came from Wayne Enterprises.
The sonic device she had not yet used came from S.T.A.R. Labs in Central City.
His methods were hardly clean, but Damon had prepared all of it for Laurel Lance. Add the fact that he had trained her himself and then brought in Gotham's famous jewel thief Catwoman to teach her combat, and not only did A.R.G.U.S. refuse to believe Laurel was unimportant to him, even Laurel's mother Dinah Lance did not believe it.
So A.R.G.U.S., already unwilling to pursue a direct armed confrontation, became even more certain of its current strategy after learning of the East Port lightning incident.
The lightning incident affected more than A.R.G.U.S.
Helena recorded footage of Frank killing Anthony Venza, but it still was not enough. She needed more evidence. Because of that, she not only maintained her current "role," she threw herself into it even harder. Sometimes even Damon could not tell what was real and what was performance.
The result was obvious.
When Frank asked Damon for help again, no one cared about Helena's presence anymore, and no one imagined she might be gathering evidence.
Every time Damon helped, Frank sent him money. Damon simply bought a villa and gave it to Felicity.
She was his girlfriend, after all.
Besides, the privacy was better, and it would be more convenient later if she formed a team with Black Canary.
Could someone really call herself a superhero without even having a base?
After the move, all kinds of equipment were quietly installed in the basement.
A small command base took shape.
In the master bedroom, after the battle ended, Felicity wiped the evidence from her face and asked Damon, who had already lain down, "The base equipment has all been calibrated. When are you going to officially introduce me to Laurel?"
"Tonight. I will go pick her up in a bit."
Felicity nodded and lay against his chest, curious.
"By the way, what did you ask me to delete just now?"
"Something that would make someone despair."
Damon grinned.
With his cooperation and help, Helena had gathered enough evidence to keep Frank in prison for the rest of his life.
The hope of success had grown higher and higher.
And then...
Damon had just asked Felicity to delete all of it.
'You think I do not know why you changed your attitude? You used me to collect evidence while pleasing me, hoping I would forgive you and stop blocking you.'
Experiencing despair inside hope.
Damon was looking forward to seeing Helena's reaction when she learned the evidence she had worked so hard to collect had been destroyed.
Would she collapse into numb despair and sink completely, leaving no Huntress behind?
Or would she face reality and keep struggling, giving birth to the Huntress after all?
With the mentality of someone standing outside the world and the strength to make others despair, influencing a person's choice and changing her fate was interesting.
Whether the final result was entertaining or boring, at least Damon was satisfied with the process.
As for what others thought, or whether they understood, Damon did not care.
As a transmigrator who understood this world, stood above it mentally, and possessed absolute power, what was the point of crossing over if he did not enjoy himself and instead worried about other people's judgment?
After resting for a while, Damon showered with Felicity, got dressed, and drove out to pick up Laurel.
As the car slowly left the villa, a woman stepped out of the nearby woods.
She wore dark leather armor and a hawk-shaped helmet.
"Target has left the villa. We can move."
"Copy that. Come rendezvous."
As the voice faded, she rolled her shoulders. A pair of huge wings unfolded from her back, and she flew into the air, chasing Damon's car.
On the quiet road, a tire suddenly blew.
Damon frowned slightly and saw several people rush out from the side.
Captain Cold, Leonard Snart.
Heat Wave, Mick Rory.
The Atom, Ray Palmer.
White Canary, Sara Lance.
Firestorm, Jefferson "Jax" Jackson and Martin Stein.
Hawkman, Carter Hall.
And Rip Hunter, former Time Master.
Was that not the Legends?
The earliest version of the Legends, no less.
"Malcolm Merlyn is not dead yet, and Laurel has not become Black Canary. Why are they here already?"
Damon blinked in surprise and got out of the car.
Then a figure flew overhead.
Hawkgirl, Kendra Saunders, descended from the sky and joined them.
The original lineup of Legends of Tomorrow had gathered.
