Chapter 3:

Suffer some more. You very much asked for it.

When the author fell into her novel

As she wrote Laton’s name and was lost in thought, her anger had let her write some words in her notebook which she didn’t realize that night but another day.

Two days later, news spread around that Laton had choked on a glass of wine and had died miserably at a bar. The wine had gone down the wrong pipe as he was enjoying drinking it with his buddies while laughing and chatting away.

This joyful news reached Mirae’s ears but she was shocked beyond words. Laton was an antagonist made to create all kinds of obstacles in Arnon’s journey but he’d perished. She was also delighted to hear the news but the uncertain future scared her more. After all, it was about to be a week and she was still here. If she were to be stuck here then it was the best news. She wondered how her plot had changed. That night she opened her notebook to write down the change and what events would be affected by it. Yet again, the last line written by her in the notebook the other day made her heart beat fast and she accepted the absurdity with a sinister smile.

She realized that her writer’s ability was usable. She’d written “I hope when he goes to a bar next time, he gets choked on his favorite blueberry wine and dies.”

“Let me test it, then.”, she laces her both hand’s fingers and stretches before writing down

Laton dreams about his death and wakes up covered in sweat at the bar surrounded by his drunken friends. He laughs, brushing the dream away and grabs a glass of wine and gulps it down. He chokes on it and dies. He wakes up covered in sweat. He brushes the dream away and grabs a glass of wine. Swallows the wine in a single hard gulp and dies. He wakes up covered in sweat. The vicious circle repeats countless times as Mirae smirks triumphantly.

She makes Laton die once and more times as she makes him remember those deaths as part of his dream. Laton being alive would be the best proof of her writer’s power. It seemed whatever she wrote as per her original novel’s plot were recorded when she wrote and if she made changes to her original storyline than those changes would have for real now.

“You lousy character! Suffer some more. You very much asked for it.”, she smiles evilly.
